5 stars because the gentleman who answered my call. Gave me prices for everything I asked for. Being in quarantine I could not just go inside the shop. Superb service and a really cool business name.

Very convenient liquor store if you're staying at Captain Cook Hotel. Has a good range of all types of alcohol. The staff has been pretty helpful everytime I go and recommended some nice beers. Favourite so far is the Matanuska Wee Heavy Scotch Ale.

Just passing thru town and needed some wine. The location was perfect for us (across the street from Hotel Caprain Cook) and staff was friendly and very helpful!

It was a nice little shop! Pleanty of Alaskan booze to pick from, and they have this weird but cool ID scanner before you can even open the door to go inside. They lady working was fun to converse with. Overall, very very great experience

The place opens at 10:00 a.m. all week and opens at 12:00 a.m. sundays.

The place is well stocked with whatever you want. And if they don't have it, they'll get it next shipment for sure. The staff is amazing.

If you're new to the area or just here for a visit, you'll notice at the door that there's an ID reader, that's a little bit different. But it's just to keep the theft down.

Sometimes it doesn't read your ID correctly, so what you do is press two fingers down on your ID while it's scanning, and it should unlock the door and let you in.

Most Brown jugs have this system in place in the area, so don't be disappointed if you find it somewhere else.

The staff here were extremely friendly to me when I was locked out of my truck. They provided above and beyond customer service.

I shop here, as many do, for the downtown convenience. Decent wine selection, a good swath of craft beer, and the liquor you need to make any drink (just no mini bottles sold here - downtown issue).

So, this little Brown Jug packs a punch and the staff earned a 5 star review from me.

Great little Brown Jug. They double check I.D. Cards for security reasons since some people have the guts to run out with unpaid alcohol. I understand why they check identification information before entry. Good selection of beer not the best prices in town but convenient. 5 stars

This place is awesome. Anna shut our car door for us when we left it open in the public parking lot!

Excellent security. Which keeps prices down. This store is right next to the public defenders so they need it lol.

I believe the manager is veteran and they are very veteran friendly and they even have veteran owned brands there. Military discount too.

Found Denali Spirit Gin there when other places did not have it.

Got the best beer for the best price there. Ended up buying too much and giving it away as tips for the rest of my stay. Super helpful staff with lots of recommendations.

Love the people in the store and they have a small selection but had the beer I liked Rasberry wheat... yummy...

As visitors to Anchorage, we stopped here for a bottle of wine and some water to bring onboard our cruise the next day. People were kind and helpful. Convenient to our Airbnb.

Been out go to for Alaskan beer variety pack which has been on sale the past few weeks :) cashiers have been extremely friendly the whole time

Super people and great prices...We are from New Hampshire and don't know these people but they were fun and I was surprised by the price of Blackbox it was less than most at home.

Nice selection of wine...don’t be scared away by the upfront positioning of Moscato! Manager is knowledgeable about wine. Prices are ok.

Had a bush order to be delivered to Bethel, AK. The delivery didn't go as planned, fault of the carrier, and Brown Jug stepped up and made everything right by me. There are always hiccups, this business made it right.

Haha they ask for ID...great for your ego when you are way past 21
