La Caraqueña

First time eating there, fun experience! Lively atmosphere and music, excellent service. The food was tasty and unique. Reservations strongly recommended. Loved the cheese Arepa. Great Diablo shrimp too. And yummy 4 Leches cake.

Great flavors, good atmosphere, reasonable prices. Had the grilled arepa sifrina. Very tasty and I liked it even more with the green jalapeno salsa (I mixed with the salsa rosada). Also had the platanos maduros. Heads up, I learned Venezuelan picadillo is not like Dominican picadillo. It's like their version of pico de Gallo.

The food was fantastic. A nice array of authentic Venezuelan food. Great drinks and an upbeat environment. Great for a date night. Take a cab because you'll want another margarita.

I've always driven by this place and always thought it was a little bit bizarre. It's attached to a very old motel and it does give off a sketchy vibe. But this place is the definition of a great hole in the wall. It's a very small nook of a restaurant. After looking up the actual restaurant you actually discover how much ppl rave about this place from Trip Advisor's top pics to the Food Network.

I wouldn't come here with a large party as space is limited. Do get an arepa! I know they're a little pricier than you would like for an arepa but they are definitely worth the buy. They have a great brunch menu but by far I am in love with their arepas.

Wonderfully delicious food and good service. The Caipirinha was the best I've ever had. They were out of Xingu, so I ordered a second Caipirinha. The arepas were as good as everyone says. Yuca Frita and Plátanos Fritos were both yummy. Sopa de Maní was interesting. The Cuatro Leches cake was a tasty conclusion to the meal. This is a cozy venue, but we still did well with six in our party.

Exquisitely prepared Venezuelan food. The national dish of Venezuela appears simple, but the flavor is a delightful marriage of delicate spices with meat, beans and rice cooked to perfection! The arepa was absolutely delicious!

We had a really great experience here. I recommend the Lomo Borracho. The broth poured on top really makes the dish pop and they use fresh herbs etc. Lots of flavor! We also got an Arepa, it was also good but the Lomo Borracho was much better.

We have eaten tequeños and arepas here a number of times and love it. Perhaps a bit pricey on some items, but for a total of about 40 we ate well and were very pleased with the food and service. Now, we pretty much schedule any trip to D.C. around dinner at La Caraqueña!

Yes! Latin cuisine in a crowded area of traditional burgers and such. Intimate. Great atmosphere. Fantastic food! This is now my go to place in Falls Church.

The food was top notch! I would recommend calling in a reservation just to be safe as there are only about 8-10 tables. Maximum party size of probably 6 unless you sit at different booths.

The food was amazing. Definitely try the Arepas. I had the Perico and wife had Sifrina. So good. Entrées were Camarones Diablo and Pollo la Plancha. Both were excellent. A simple place with excellent food. Great for a date night.

A special place with no pretension and amazing food and drink. The Caipirinha is especially good, as are the arepas. Get the sifrina followed by a big plate of Pabellón a Caballo and I guarantee you'll leave smiling. One one the few local places to drink Xingu too, which is a draw for those who appreciate this dark sweet Brazilian beer.

Fantastic food and a great neighborhood place to dance on Saturday nights. Raul (owner/chef) is an excellent host and makes wonderful food. Try an arepa!

Foood coma: the food is amazing!!!! Small hole in the wall. If you like authentic latin american food this is the place for you. Just call ahead and check the wait/ make a reservation

The fried Arepas was delicious. Lovely atmosphere. Great place to eat outside if the weather's nice.

Fabulous. Make sure you have reservations. Small by design to be intimate and so chef does not have to mass produce food.

My wife is Venezuelan and she says they have the closest thing to a real Tequeno she has had in the states. Love their food!

The food is delicious ,the staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is good.

Loved it! The shredded beef was fantastic! The margarita washed it down nicely.
