I love living here! The management is very responsive and helpful, and the newly renovated units are nice. If I ever moved back to the NoVA area, I would want to live here again.

I have lived here for over 4 years now in both the studio and 1 bedroom complexes and it is an amazing place to live. Renee and the maintenance staff are constantly responsive to the needs of their residents and have always been there to ensure I need help with anything from air filters to closet doors to borrowing tape. They constantly bring in great landscaping teams to keep the neighborhood nice, and are the first ones to shovel snow and make shovels available to help residents with cars in the winter. Very glad I found this place.

Very quiet ,clean and safe
I have been a resident here for about 2 year at the time of this post.

The properties are very clean, well kept and the management is very responsive. The residents in my complex are very respectful. They do not yell and holler at all hours of the night. If someone is being too loud then management let the resident know to quite down nicely. No graffiti, inappropriate flyers, or miscreants breaking into apartments ( this was an issue for me in previous complexes).

When any staff is entering my apartment they give me at least 24 hours notice and leave a note telling me they were in my apartment.
They replace my air filter regularly.

Also , I disconnected my smoke detector ( it's very sensitive ) and they made it clear this is not acceptable. I can appreciate this even though the detector does not like my cooking :( [it's connected currently :)]

My complex has no mice, rats , bugs of any kind. There was a scare about a year ago and they had exterminators come in and take care of the issue. No issues at all in this complex ever since.

The parking is very strict. I have gotten my car towed because I did not keep up with my registration. This was entirely my fault, not the complex. Because of this, there is always parking for the legitimate residents.

Some background on me. I have rented in may places ( DC, Philadelphia, Colorado, Las Vegas, etc.) for over 20+ years.
Bottom line

The apartments here are an amazing deal for the money. I would ( and have) recommended this complex to anyone in need of an apartment.

I lived here since end of 2018 and reason was price at the time. After several owner and manager change overs, it got severely bad. And I’m referring to Alicia Ambers and Eakon properties, current owners and property manager. I never knew you could renovate an apartment WHILE a tenant is living there and paying full price. The only option I was given was to move into a more expensive unit. And right before that, the contractor supposedly cut a water line and the water spewed all over my bed, which I had to get rid of for fear of mold growing. Videos show that all my towels etc. were used to clean up the water?! When emailing to help get mattress thrown out during moving out, the office was suddenly closed for the week. So $145.00 to pay to have it removed. The contractor and workers left my unit in dismay which caused damage which then caused me not to get all of my security deposit back?! I even asked can they please renovate after I move out. Alicia had told me that that’s not possible?! What!? I even used to think Alicia’s apt. Was the new office during renovation since I literally saw two different male tenants going in and out of her unit. This place does not have good paying tenants best interest in mind at all and will screw you out of money and options. The only silver lining is that the maintenance guys are very good, just needed to give them the attention they deserve. DO NOT give them a chance to prove me right. There are so many complexes close by that are less and/or with far better ownership/management. This is actually a real review. P.S. did you see the black mold that was under the carpet or the nails left sticking up left by the workers they hired to renovate WHILE I was still there. Unfortunately a review is not where this will stop.

3 qualified college students needing a place to live over the summer for internships in DC / NoVA submitted an application AND proof of internship income 5x the monthly rent requirement (3x is the requirement). After 5 days, a decline was given due to improper input of the income. Another 5 days past after correcting and the same response. There is a paper trail of all communications. No other reasons given on the decline reports. Meanwhile, The Glen accepts another application (likely for a longer term), eats the application fee of the students, and tells the students too bad. Students now have < a month to find a place to live because of this dysfunction. There is zero reason the students needed a co-signor for a 3 month lease with almost 2 times the required income and no issues on their credit report other than - insufficient credit history- which is typical for anyone under 25. Stay away from this place.

CONS: Horrible insulation, which means your seasonal heating and cooling bills will be stupid expensive. Occasional cockroach infestations. Paper thin walls (you’ll hear everything your neighbors do). Coin-operated public washer and dryers. Pets are prohibited, and if the management even sees you with a dog, they will go crazy on you.

PROS: There is a supermarket, a gas station, and a 7-11 across the street. That’s about it.

NEITHER PRO NOR CON: There’s a large graveyard next door, if you like that kind of thing. Godspeed.

Moved out early because of many issues (leaking ceiling, leaking floor, poor maintenance, etc.) but primarily due to poor water quality that was continuously failed to be addressed despite capturing the yellow water from both bathroom and kitchen and providing unhealthy water tests. They let me move out before my lease was up because they wouldn’t fix the issues and I contacted the county. Wouldn’t recommend.

BED BUGS!!!!

BE AWARE OF MOVING INTO THE GLEN! They have replaced their property manager and things have seriously fallen apartment. There is a serious BED BUG infestation and management has treated the issue as if BED BUGS are no big deal. Management has done nothing to make surrounding residents aware of the infestation, and they have done nothing to treat the infestation. This is not the first time either. This is the second infestation in ONE year. New management is extremely lackadaisical. If you have any issue it takes days for them to respond to you or even acknowledge you. They also like to come up with rules without telling the community residents i.e. their towing enforcement policy suddenly change. We were allowed to park in certain areas until 9 PM. After 9 PM they would start towing. Well management changed it from 9 PM to never without notifying the residents. Many residents ended up getting towed because of managements neglect to tell the residents of their new policy. With new management they do not inspect for bugs and do monthly sprays like the used to which has caused ant and infestations on top of BED BUGS, the hallways are filthy, the laundry mat is filthy. The Glen has gone down hill SEVERELY with new management and I do not recommend anyone moving in.
DO NOT MOVE INTO THE GLEN.
