Yorktown Beach Hotel

My wife and i stayed here for 4 nights.
Wanted something different for our anniversary. The location was great.
We had a room facing Water st., what a great view. Matt and his staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable.
There was plenty of things to do within walking distance, restaurants, shops Of all kinds. Plenty of history in the area too, just a free trolley ride away.
We will be back.

Was very pleased with the renovations the new owner has done. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the breakfast they now serve it was very good not to mention the fact of the beautiful view. I will definitely be going back to stay again. Can't wait to see the completion of the motel👍👍👍👍👍

Lovely oceanfront rooms. Very friendly person at front deck. Don't get the tub room, the jets Don't work worth 5 cents. The other rooks are great and will love to go back again.

My wife and I stayed there last this past weekend for the Christmas Market on Main, Viking Festival and Christmas Boat Parade. The llocation was great, the staff was very friendly and helpful plus the remodeling looked great. We had a waterfront room with excellent views and good restaurants nearby in walking distance. Our room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was a nice way to start the day. Thank you, Matt, Ferren and the Staff for your hard work and keeping alive a great place to stay in a beautiful town. Great Job !!

I thoroughly enjoyed and loved my stay at Yorktown Beach Hotel. It was a memorable trip as it was the first sisters weekend get away for my sister and I. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The entire staff was friendly and courteous, I felt like a member of the family. The view from the balcony was beautiful. The location is perfect and within walking distance of the restaurants and attractions. I definitely plan to stay there again.

My son brought me down here for Mother’s Day . Weather was not the best but the Hotel made up for it. Clean. Friendly front desk staff. Beautiful view. We will def be back.

My husband and I stayed this past weekend and was very happy with our experience. There are renovations being done and it is a very welcomed change. The new owner appears to be putting a lot of effort into turning around this hotel and while it may take a little longer to get it all completed I think the end result will be amazing.

Our room was very comfortable and clean, the view was amazing and if we needed anything the staff was more than helpful. We will definitely return and look forward to seeing the finished result.

Edit: Our first stay here was in the wake of finding out about my grandfather's diagnosis and battle with cancer. It was a very hard time and the owner and all employees were so very kind and accommodating to us. They were very sympathetic and willing to help make our stay as nice as possible.

Due to how wonderful our first stay was we did return and the renovations are coming along very nicely, we can't imagine how hard and how expensive this time has been on the owner. We are still very happy with everything and excited about the breakfast now. We appreciate the fact that any and all questions and concerns we had were addressed immediately with kindness and professionalism. We understand that this building is very large and is going through an EXTREME renovation and truly appreciate the fact it is staying open through all of this. We can't wait to return and see the finished rooms. With my husband being a small business owner as well we wish the owner the utmost best of luck with this property and can't wait to see the glorious ending.

This Hotel is on point. It is clean, comfortable, and has excellent hospitality! It is right on the water and it is within walking distance from several restaurants and historical sites! Perfect place for a weekend get away!

I hosted a retirement party for my wife at the Riverwalk Restaurant across the street from this hotel. Although the hotel is dated, Matt the owner, is working hard to get it renovated. Our room was very clean and comfortable! My wife and I enjoyed our stay here and plan to come back again when we want to go to the Yorktown Beach. The hotel has great views of the York River. Our bed was very comfortable and we slept very well. They have a continental breakfast in the morning, so you will not go hungry until lunch time. This hotel also has a swimming pool. The property is a beautiful location and I am sure that you will enjoy your stay. We give Matt and his team 5 Stars. We will be back!

Staying at this hotel was awesome, it was right across the street from the beach, had amazing sunrise views from the room balcony and was walkable to many different attractions (restaurants, historic battlefield and different shops) in Yorktown. Room was clean and spacious, beds were comfortable and the staff were very friendly and always greeted us with a smile asking if we needed anything. Will definitely keep it on a list of places to stay again when wanting a little get a way.

This hotel is lovely! The customer service is top notch. I'm a traveler and this is by far now one of my favs!! The receptionist was so tolerant of my bossy friend and accommodated her. Kudos for your patience because mine were thin! The rooms were a lttle outdated aesthetically, but quite comfortable and outside was adorable. The view from the room and proximity to the beach are top notch! 2 restaurants near by and smack dab in the middle of all the attractions. Don't miss this hidden gem!!!

My wife and I stayed at Yorktown Beach Hotel, formally known as Duke of York Hotel, this past weekend and everything was just fine. When coming here, everyone needs to keep in mind that it is under new ownership and work is being done to update and improve. So far, job being well done.
We stayed in an older room and although dated right now, room was clean, everything worked and have no complaints.
We have not been since the early 1980s to this hotel and still had a nice time and pleasant visit. Again, room was clean, everything worked. Yes, it s still dated but the owner is trying and has big plans.
Quiet weekend away, this is the place. Looking forward to another stay.

My friend and I stayed here first weekend in June visiting family.our stay was FABULOUS!! I had a concern about my grandson and the sliding patio door, it was resolved QUICKLY and with no fuss at all , I was so very thankful for this and slept peacefully.our room was clean, ac worked great, halls were quiet all night, the outside noise completely stopped about 9:00, nice variety for complimentary breakfast, coffee was good,. It LOVED that it is a dog friendly place as I missed mine. Designated smoking areas were appreciated. Lots to do within walking distance and a fantastic trolley ride . Police are seen riding through at all hours day and night. The staff are AMAZING thank you alllllll so very much for a comfortable and relaxing experience, they really go above and beyond to make guest’s comfortable.we have already booked our room in September and looking forward to another great weekend!! Thank you for all u do !!!!!

I was very pleased with my stay last weekend at the Yorktown Beach Hotel. The location is great and view from my room and private balcony was amazing!
Bed was comfy. The bathroom was nice, although the shower head is pretty low for me at 6'0 to stand underneath.
The railing on the balcony could use attention....maybe replaced with something that doesn't obstruct the view as much.

The manager and front desk ladies were very nice and helpful!
Can't wait to go back again!

Thanks to everyone at the Yorktown Beach Hotel for making our stay so pleasant. We saw wonderful sunrises, as usual! The addition of the Continental breakfast was very nice and appreciated. I’ve been staying here for many years and the upgraded areas are beautiful. I’ll see you in June! We also saw a submarine going down the river. 😊

This hotel has great views of the river. In the morning, from your room you can see the sun rise.

Management is very attentive in maintaining the property. I personally saw the owner walking the property greeting guest and making sure everything is clean.

The hotel is situated right off the river which adds to it's charm. In addition, it is close to Jamestown and Williamsburg. The Yorktown battlefield is less then 10 minutes away.

Outside the hotels door is a small community of restaurants and stores. In addition there is a walking path along the river.

The onsite breakfast was a plus and was included in the price of our room.

I would highly recommend this hotel.

You were a pleasure to talk to from the day we stopped in to book the rooms to the day after the wedding. You personally walked us around your hotel and showed us what you had to meet our needs. Your staff seen to it that we had everything we needed and you topped it off by sending up breakfast danishes to the bridal party the morning of the wedding. You and your staff were exceptional in every aspect of our stay. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ♥ ❤❤

I took my son to Yorktown Beach Hotel for his Spring Break! We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the beautiful sunrise and view from our three story room! Staff was very friendly. The only draw back was that there was only one breakfast place within walking distance and they are closed on Mondays. And they are still under construction so they didn’t have any hotel snacks yet, but they are in the process of getting that handled soon. We love this spot and look forward to future visits.

Checked in today. Our room was very clean and spacious. Almost every room has a great view of the York River. Hospitality is amazing!

We had a wonderful stay here at the Yorktown Beach Hotel!! They are really coming along with the renovations; the front of the building looks so nice since it's been painted! The staff were very friendly and accommodating! They made us feel right at home. Once they open up the new lobby, I know it's going to be beautiful!! We will definitely be coming back very soon! 5 Stars and 2 thumbs up!!
