William V. Dougherty III, DDS - Falls Church Dentist

I’ve been a happy patient of Dr. Dougherty and his staff for 20 years. I brought my young daughters here, and they are now both adults with excellent dental health. I later referred my sister, who is phobic about dentists, and she does well as a patient in this practice. She and her kids drive up from central Virginia for appointments!
During COVID, it was good to know that Dr. Dougherty was head of the committee of the state dental association who set the standards for COVID safety in dental offices.
Caring staff and low staff turnover combined with state-of-the-art science for everything from cleanings to implants makes this practice the best I’ve ever been to. And to top it off, the office is eco-friendly! VERY highly recommend!

Been a patient of Dr. Dougherty since late 2011. Had a lot of dental work done at that time and he always explained what needed to be done and why. These days I mainly go in for cleanings but he always makes it a point to come and say hello. It is always a pleasure interacting with him and his team. They are all very welcoming and friendly. As a plus, he is also very involved in the local community and schools. Would highly recommend for anyone in search of a place for dental work.

I have been a patient of Dr. Dougherty for several years now and have had a great experience. He and his staff are top notch and do a fantastic job. I have had a few crowns and no pain with any of them. They explain everything that is going on and what they are keeping their eyes on but don't push procedures that aren't needed at the time. I spend years going to dentists I did not have the best experience with and then I found Dr. Dougherty. I have been going to him for years now. The office is always clean, the staff friendly and helpful, and Dr. Dougherty listens and explains things throughly. He is not a doctor who will tell you to do things that are not needed. When he replaced my filling, I did not feel a thing. I have recommended friend to him in the past and they have all had good experiences with the office staff and Dr. Dougherty. Dr Dougherty is the best dentist I’ve ever had. He always has the latest technology for safety and care but never oversells stuff you don’t need. Everyone in the office is super helpful and they’ve gone out of their way to help with submitting claims to insurance when I’ve asked. I’d highly recommend his practice.

Dr. Dougherty is a phenomenal dentist. I have recommended him to many colleagues and friends. My six old son, my husband, and I have received the highest level of care. I personally have had a significant amount of work done. The office was upfront and transparent about the reasonable fees and the work I needed. The equipment is state of the art and the staff is so professional. Also, the office is a family business and Dr. Dougherty does a significant about of pro bono work. He is honest and wants the best interests of his patients. He is the best!

There are never any guessing games when working with them! They explain everything in detail as they are going along and never rush through the consultations. This type of customer service is greatly appreciated when sitting in that dental chair!

Dr. Dougherty is no longer in my provider’s network and no longer as close to my office as he was when I started going to him. Despite that, my family has no intentions of switching… that says a lot!

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Dougherty! He is so kind, gentle, and knowledgeable. It took me a while to find a dentist in the area I liked, so many try and sell you the moon and the stars then charge you an arm and a leg, but not his office. His staff are amazing, you always feel welcome. The office is super chic and modern too! You wont regret your visit!

Dr. Dougherty and his team are always pleasant to talk with. They make teeth cleaning an enjoyable experience. Besides helpful hygiene advice, it is great to share what is happening in our respective family lives! After more than 20+ years with one dentist, it is nice to know and develop a lasting trust.

I absolutely recommend Dr. Dougherty! I first came to him several years ago and I'm so happy I did. I had anxiety about going to the dentist because of bad experiences I'd had with other dentists, but he has erased those fears for me. He and my dental hygienist have always provided excellent care, from performing the actual exams and procedures to thoroughly discussing dental issues and treatment options. And I appreciate that he always asks about my children! The front desk staff are friendly and accommodating, and very helpful when it comes to working with your insurance to make sure you get the care you need. I can't recommend Dr. D enough!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. D’s for about 10 years. He won me over immediately. I’m terrified of any dental procedures due to past bad experiences and Dr. Dougherty and his staff have always treated me with “kid gloves” and eased my fears, reassured me and helped me each time I needed it. Dr. D. Is very gentle and take his time to explain procedures. His staff is friendly and everyone there genuinely seems to care about patients. Dr. D is highly regarded in the dental field and his experience shows. You couldn’t pay me to go anywhere else.
