One of the most eclectic tastings I have ever done. Food presentation was amazing and taste was perfection. I loved everything we ate but my favorite was the Parmesan broth. It sounds odd but was so full of flavor, it was amazing. We didn’t do the pairing but am sure that experience would be great too. The staff explains every single dish and can answer any question you ask them. I would give more than 5 stars if I could.

I had a wonderful meal at Saint-Germain. The tasting menu (only option) makes for a nicely paced experience. I felt very satisfied from all the food. It started off with a couple small plates and amuse bouche at the bar, which is a beautiful room with rich deep colors. It continued in the small and cozy dining room with a few bigger plates followed by desserts. I love the use of elements from the garden such as the nasturtium leaves topping the crab and the lovage used in the sorbet palette cleanser. Lots of nice small touches in the meal and the focus on natural wines was a nice change from the usual. The dining room is kinda cute...cozy, a bit eclectic with mid century modern elements. The people were all very friendly and helpful.

In a little old house in a little town just outside New Orleans, there is a great chef doing great things. James Beard thinks so as well. The Tire dude has not made it to New Orleans just yet, perhaps to our benefit as Saint Germain is flying way below radar. For our last night in NOLA we found what is probably the best fine dining in the region. 10 courses of deep flavors, textures, and whimsy that show off not only what is local and seasonal, but with serious French, Japanese (and a bit of German) technique and sensibility. From the website:
—“Our goal is to recreate the feeling of eating at a chef’s home. Tableside service and guest interaction with the chefs is incorporated as much as possible. Our kitchen team takes advantage of the smaller guest count by utilizing techniques that would be much harder to duplicate on a larger scale: dry aging of meats, washed rind cheese making, and á la minute seafood butchery, to name a few. “ —
Two seatings a night, max of about 14 people per seating. First four courses (bites) are at the bar, the rest in a tiny little dining room with plenty of architectural charm and fun decor, including a lighting fixture from Copenhagen carved from a single piece of wood to resemble an Oyster shell. The first bite was a Parmesan and caramelized onion “soup,” a tantalizing burst of creamy umami that welcomed us to what was going to be a night of tasty surprises. Another bite was a riff on meat and potatoes: two fingernail-sized pieces of barely seared Wagyu, a little block of fried potato pancake, and a kickass Au poivre rich with demi glacé. Later courses included Lamb Merguez Gougeres, sweet breads and morel (not Lizette’s favorite lol) and well-executed “hay aged” Squab with Koshikari rice prepared in a Japanese style. The cheese course was a perfect cheese soufflé with Saint Andre cheese sauce. The Gelato was made of Lovage. All-in-all, the entire experience reminded me of the 3 Star Single Thread in Healdsburg, CA, except with more of an attitude towards comfort, both in the food and the service. Delightful. #thefoodietraveler

An exquisite meal from start to finish with impeccable service. Progressive 10-course dinner that starts at the bar. A wonderful experience. Even though the food was of the finest quality, the place is unpretentious and friendly. Unique bites, so different and memorable. Worth every penny.

Oh! My! Gosh!! My husband and I LOVE food and this was one of the best meals of our life! Every course was perfectly designed and only got better the more we tried! If you are in New Orleans and are looking for a magical night, look no further than Saint Germains! I can't recommend this cozy, one of a kind restaurant enough.

Very creative dining experience. Service was excellent; Drew, Hillary, Lauren, Trey, Jordan, and Ana’s knowledge about the food and wine, and their friendly professionalism made this meal a fun culinary adventure. Highly recommend.

If you can get a reservation, I highly recommend this dining experience! Did the wine tasting pairing and loved their descriptions of each wine. These flavors were so detailed and well thought out! The snapper fish was cooked perfectly with the most delectable sauce!

This is in the running as my favorite restaurant in New Orleans currently. First the wine bar portion of Saint-Germain is great. Great cocktails and bar bites menu. It’s the best bar food menu in Nola imho. They have a nice natural and French wine menu.

The food…. Y’all, like any great tasting menu, you eat things you normally wouldn’t, and this krewe nails all of it. Delicious bites with interesting flavors and textures. They have add ons like truffle and caviar and optional wine pairings. Every course was better than the last.

The service…. The food is incredible, and the service is arguably better. Everyone from the bartender to the chef! You really do feel welcome, the explanations are clear and don’t feel rushed.

Amazing spot, if you’re debating going, just go.

We love food, and NOLA is the place to experience it. This was our first time at Saint-Germain, but it won't be our last.

There's beauty in handing your dining options over for a surprise treat and wine pairing with every course, and it's one of my favorite experiences. That said, my husband and I both have food allergies that could create a struggle with a chef's tasting menu -- but we were completely impressed by their efforts to verify our allergies and ensure we were covered.

If they present and offer truffles as an add-on, you should totally go for the truffles.

Saint-Germain was my first experience of a tasting menu and it was a highlight of my visit to New Orleans. I appreciated the unassuming location and unpretentious atmosphere. My husband and I felt very welcomed, and enjoyed chatting with the bartender Jordan before our first course. The entire waitstaff was energetic and knowledgeable. Every bite was delicious and memorable. I would highly recommend a visit for a special meal in New Orleans.

One of my most memorable meals in NOLA was the tasting menu here. Such delicious and thoughtful food and wine pairings. I've been to quite a few Michelin star restaurants in various parts of the world, and this was definitely on par with the 1-2 star places. I've been. I recommend it to everyone who is headed to the city who wants great food.

St Germain served one of the best meals I've ever had, hands down. It was vegetarian week and I had a five course tasting with wine pairings. (Incidentally, for the quality, the prices were real reasonable.) The food managed to be novel, comforting, and perfectly executed. Places with this level of attention to detail often seem to be up their own hindquarters, focusing on novel instead of good, but St. Germain wasn't at all. It's food made by people who are both immensely accomplished and still down-to-earth. I can't wait to go back.

The very chic Saint-Germain with its homey, restful surroundings by Chefs Trey Smith and Blake Aguillard. Their cooking is soft and delicate, yet somehow packs a punch of flavor that lingers. Seasonal produce and meats make this journey’s focus on freshness and what is currently in season. Elements of intrigue and surprise await you each course, as there are no menus. Very liberating.

P.S. The playlist is fire.

Really good food - I wanted to savor each dish. Wine pairings complemented the dishes well. Our sommelier was knowledgeable but unpretentious. Chefs came out to serve their dishes. It was just cool. I had no complaints. Can't wait to come back.

Absolutely fabulous. One of the best meals Ive had in the last few years. Each dish is crafted with intention, creating a complexity flavours that make you want to close your eyes just to taste them better and savour the moment. I'd travel back to New Orleans just to eat here again - it was THAT good. Im going to be reminiscing about their blanched white asparagus and radishes in white asparagus broth, and smoked vanilla bean panna cotta foreverrrrr.

I have now been to Saint Germain on multiple occasions. And they never cease to amaze me. The food, the wine, the service, and the experience are beyond words.

Alas, l will try my best.

Saint-Germain is forever blowing my tastebuds with the creations coming out of their kitchen. The vegetarian week in the dining room was no exception.

If you haven’t been to Saint-Germain, let me introduce you.

The dining room features a 5 course menu (&laniappe). If you are an alcohol consumer, you can choose to do a wine pairing, a bottle (which is what we went with), or à la carte from the wine by the glass & drink menu.

The dining room menu is curated using fresh, local ingredients and changes every month. The third week of each month they present a vegetarian menu. Which after the hearty endorsement from Drew, one of the three partners, my friend and I booked for August

The August Vegetarian menu:
•White Gazpacho layered on top of hot Parmesan broth with fermented garlic
• grilled okra with pickle and peach relish
•Omlet Buerre Blanc & Herbs topped with Caviar
•Beans, Saffron, Green Chili Sofrito
•Delicata squash, tomato, brown butter roasted pinenuts, orange vinaigrette
•Caramel 🍏

Literally everything was SO AMAZING! My friend and I were having very NSFW reactions to tasting it all and left absolutely stuffed.

Also, we asked them to pick a bottle of wine for us which would pair well with the entire meal & y’all I was not disappointed one bit.

Definitely hoping to go to the Independent to grab a bottle or two for the house.

A MILLION/10 would recommend. If you’re on a tighter budget, this place definitely doesn’t come with the lightest price tag. I assure you, however, it is so worth it.

Safety measures during CoVid: August must wear a mask while not seated at the table. I can’t remember if they do temperature screenings Bc I was so excited to be there. Also, there are only 4 people max in the dining room at one time and there is PLENTY of space if there is separate party dining in.

An orgiastic feast for the senses, we were fainting from pleasure. Cancel all your other NOLA reservations and make a pilgrimage to Saint Germain. Worship at the altar of haute nouvelle cuisine. It’s that good. Coming back in two weeks. Laissez les bons temps rouler.

Perfect. In every way. Attentive but not stuffy or pretentious. I always hoped that old school would finally be punctuated by new love in a true New Orleans experience. Not that this is "New Orleans Food." Arrive sober and enjoy beautiful food, with the thoughtfully paired natural wines they curate. This stands up to any Michelin tasting menus I have experienced, and at a 1/3 of the cost. Go in a tank top if ya want. This is the real deal. So much love. We were in tonight. (Kudos to the music as well. Very tasteful and broad in spectrum)

Our group (4 people) came in a fews ago. We had an amazing time. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Never once did we feel as though we didn't belong or weren't welcomed by everyone we met. The food was amazing; an experience that everyone should strive for at least once. Everything was explained perfectly so you knew what was being given to you and which wine went best along with why if went so well together. At a point during the experience, we were able to be outside with 2 of the 3 owners. To say we felt accepted and welcomed to talk and lounge together would be an understatement. We felt bad being the last to leave so late at night, but the staff made it seem that they didn't mind one bit. (Though I'm sure some did.) This is an experience I would 100% love to have again with amazing g people that have worked so hard to get to where they are.
