Coastal Cottage

Coastal Cottage is a Diamond in the Rough. My guess is most people find it by accident. For us, it was after a trip to H&R Block next door. It has quickly become our favorite shop for furniture, decor, candles, gifts etc. Being a former Small Business owner, we always try to support small, local businesses like Coastal Cottage.
Nestled in a tiny strip of small business's, it shares a parking lost with Wendy's fast food and Jersey Mike's. But there is always ample parking. As expected it was busy when we first visited. But that didn't stop one of the very lovely owners, Dina, from welcoming us to their store. Her daughter is co-owner. Both were very friendly and pleasant. We purchased the Mermaid, which was handcrafted by a local artist, on our first visit and returned a few days later for the furniture piece. (Both pictured) Our GSD Buddy was used to give the Mermaid scale. As you can see, he is not camera shy.
Our only wish is for their continued success.

My husband and I have been coming to Long Beach ( Oak Island) and Southport, Nc since 1985. This area is my most favorite place on earth. I truly forgot all my jewelry so therefore, my sweet husband wanted to buy me some very special new jewelry. We came to this store because they sold locally made jewelry. I absolutely love items that are handmade by local artists. Dina was precious in helping me find exactly what I wanted. This store is delightful. The ladies that helped me were so helpful, caring really interested in what I wanted. My favorite artist is Silver Lining Stamping. I have ordered several of her pieces and given them as presents. This store is definitely worth your time to visit and meet sweet Dina. Thank you sweet ladies again for all your help . I am wearing some of my jewelry today. Isabella Stout

If you're looking to decorate your home with a coastal décor, (and porch/patio), this place is a must-visit.

The place is filled with so many pretty things. I loved the pillows with the turtle and octopus designs, wall décor and signs, kitchen items, the driftwood pieces, accent pieces, mirrors, furniture, fun nautical items, and locally made items.

So much to choose from in home decor and more. Lots of paintings, some furniture, different paints for wood and other items. Different styles and mediums for art work.

Genuinely friendly, courteous and engaging owner and sales associates. Take your time browsing thru a "cottage" filled with wonderfully unique artwork, limited edition pieces, high-end (new) furniture, as well as many (one-of-a-kind) sweet and special cabinets and tables, lovingly restored and painted by local artists, etc. It's a great place for gifts for any/all occasions, and "retail therapy"!

They have an amazing variety of their unique beach stuff would definitely recommend the store to tourists or anybody moving to North to decorate their house amazing

Great customer service with lots of great finds. Beautiful artwork from local artist. Lots of great looking coastal furniture. A large variety of driftwood and original pieces. Easily seen from the road with parking out front or on the side. It does have a ramp for wheelchair access. I would highly recommend stopping by. The owner is super nice and helpful.

My favorite gift shop in Southport. Kind of hidden away but the selection is so different and charming! Sweet ladies working there. Very helpful but not pushy.💛

LOVE LOVE LOVE this shop and the staff whom are incredibly friendly and can help you locate just about anything whether it be in their place or another. Love the local support and artists work represented and sold in the shop. Always something new coming in so a visit frequently is always a good surprise!

Such a cute shop. Wanted to buy everything!!! Great for coastal decorating or just buying items to spruce up your home. We bought some chalk paint to repaint our dining room table. It turned out very beach and fun!! Can’t wait to go back!!

What's not to love? DiAne has quality items from over 50 vendors. Her store is brimming with beautiful, one of a kind items from many talented artists. Great location with plenty of parking too.

The most amaxing shop for all things beach. Diane, owner, makes you feel like family from the moment you walk through the door until you leave. The shop is filled with unigue items, one of a kind pieces and beautifully restored furniture pieces. Her artists are amazing. A MUST for everyone to shop at.

Coastal cottage not only has unique decorator items and gift items, they offer decorator advice and support. Many pieces are hand crafted locally and are priced very affordably. .Even larger furniture items such as sofas and islands for kitchens can be ordered with examples on site. The owner and staff go out of their way to be helpful.

What a wonderful find! We moved here just 3 months ago (Leland) and we have shopped here 4 times already. Each time we have found at least one piece made by local artists to take home! Prices are extremely reasonable.

Coastal Cottage is such a fun place to shop! Diane has several local artist's work to choose from and great decorating ideas. My personal favorite place to explore, as there's always something different each time I talk through the door.
