Koko Cabana

Came here with some friends for our Spring Break celebration dinner! Our server Nick was absolutely amazing. He was knowledgeable about the menu and answered our questions. Service was extremely quick and he accommodated all requests. The view from our table was phenomenal, came between 6:45 and 8 and we had an unobstructed view of the sunset. The food was delicious and so was the cocktail I ordered. Will definitely be coming back and cannot recommend enough!

This place is phenomenal. Our server Nick was fantastic, he was so kind and personable. He went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience. The atmosphere was incredible, it overlooks the pier and we were there at sunset on the deck. Absolutely beautiful. The food was also incredible the shrimp was so fresh and the tartar sauce is the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend the firecracker shrimp. 12/10 amazing.

Lyndsay was an excellent server. Food came out hot and fairly fast. We sat outside and watched the birds, boats and people. Pelicans were very cool. Great time and we will be back next trip. Manager was present but never stopped by to say hello. We have over 1 million views of our Google Maps pictures. Enjoy the pictures and the views if you stop by the Koko Cabana.

The food is amazing and deserves 5 stars for sure! The customer service was excellent as well. The only thing lacking is the “cocktails”…definitely just tasted like mixed drinks you would attempt to make at home…they are missing the mark there. Stick to whatever they have on draft. The island bowl with grilled mahi was the best dish I’ve had in quite some time!

The Koko Cabana surprised us with their good food and friendly service. Since it's right on the beach next to the pier, we assumed we'd be paying more for the location and that some of their 4.6 rating was for the vibe.

That's true, but it's so much more. Expect a wait, but once you're seated, the service was prompt and friendly.

Our waitress helped us choose between a couple of options we were considering and we both loved our entrees.

The beer (we both chose local: Man of Law IPA & Cloud Rise Hazy) were surprisingly in cans and not on draft, and a great price for only $3.50 each on a Sunday afternoon.

The Southwest Burger was so flavorful and juicy served with seasoned fries. The coconut shrimp tacos were a perfect flavor blend with two large shrimp per taco. The tortilla chips on the side were nothing special.

The meal overall was really good and you can't beat the setting. We spent less than we expected for a beachfront island restaurant.

We enjoyed a table in the deck closest to the beach on a sunny afternoon. Perfect beach vibe.

There is only a fee parking lot with very limited spots by the restaurant. Expect to pay to park elsewhere and walk a couple of blocks on a weekend afternoon.

Delicious!! I had the special crab cake on top of a seasonal berry salad. Kids had coconut shrimp and a kids shrimp meal. Husband ate the coconut shrimp tacos. Price was reasonable- $75 with tip and we had two drinks, an appetizer and a beer. Very happy with the service and great view!

Update: went back a second time for dinner. Husband got the catch of the day special and I got scallops. Didn't love the fries green tomatoes but scallops and mashed taters with excellent.

Delicious dining by the water. Ordered the lavender martini, key lime martini, fried oysters, and scallops. Everything was incredible, the view outside was remarkable, and staff was very friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in Oak Island. We walked on the pier afterwards and enjoyed the sunset. Loved it!

Wowowow this place is awesome. This is exactly what I want when I’m at the beach on vacation. We sat outside overlooking the beach and the volleyball players. I would say get there right at or before 11. We got there at 11:01 and the place was already packed. When we left at 12:30 the wait was insane. Well worth it though for the ambiance and the FOOD. The food was sooooo good. The flavors were fresh and the portions were perfect for lunch. We ordered the fish sandwiches, fish tacos and shrimp quesadilla. Everything was excellent. The fish on my sandwich could have used a little more salt but it wasn’t enough to deter me. The sandwich was loaded up with fresh veggies which was so good. The shrimp in the quesadilla was so tender and the fish sandwiches bursted with flavor. 10/10 highly recommend!

Bartender was efficient and friendly. The view is amazing, watching the ocean and having great food and drinks. Their bloody Mary’s are tasty! I had 2. Shrimp nachos were fire and even better, fried chicken sandwich w/ goat cheese, jalapeño and sweet and spicy sauce! I’m definitely ordering that again.

Great place to grab an adult beverage after fishing the pier all day. Dagney took good of us,would recommend,can't wait to return!

Fantastic atmosphere and food with a view! Got lucky and got to enjoy some live music while we were there. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and unique cocktails. Was sadly out of fries and slaw so I didn't want to try the fish tacos without slaw, so I gave the Tuna Island Bowl a try and it was so wonderful and fresh.

We are in town for a week and soooo glad that we decided to make this our first stop!! The service was so great and friendly, and the food was served quickly and truly delicious. We had children with us and they automatically brought their food out first which was perfect!

We had a big party and all 12 of us fit at a very nice large family style table with ocean views. We had fried green tomatoes, poke bowl, tacos, house salad, and the kids loved the chicken nuggets and fresh fruit! Everything is homemade and they don’t cut corners! Can’t wait to go back 😍

The dishes came out so beautiful that we had to take a picture! We came here because we overheard someone at the pool talking about how delicious the shrimp nachos were! They really are amazing! The tuna bowl was also delicious! My son had the coconut shrimp and loved it! The atmosphere is really neat! The staff was friendly and upbeat! You can’t beat the view!

Got some salads which were amazing. The service was excellent and the view fantastic. We were able to sit outside by the beach side of the deck.
Worth it to have a meal and a view here.

We stayed a week in Oak Island and had the best time! Our favorite restaurant BY far was Koko Cabana!!
The food was amazing, the atmosphere was stunning, the staff was so pleasant and we had the most wonderful waitress, her name was Chelsy!

Our family came here for lunch last week. Everyone ordered something different and we loved everything. Service was prompt and friendly. Our server was helpful and frequently checked in to make sure we had what we needed. The fish tacos are highly recommended. Even our two young children enjoyed their cheese nachos and chicken nuggets (from kids menu:). We’ll be back soon! This is non food related but they have our favorite saints on display. 😊

Great place at the pier. Good food - I had fish tacos, good wine and we strolled the pier after dinner to watch the fishermen and the sunset. Best last night at the beach ever. Free parking after 5:00pm a plus

Awesome coastal eating experience. Top notch service to go along with the top notch flavors. We enjoyed the fried shrimp, fish tacos, and the fried oysters. You can’t go wrong with any of them.

We’ve been here twice this week and it’s been absolutely amazing! Service 10/10 we had the coconut shrimp and it was the best I’ve had in awhile. Both times I ordered the island bowl, with tuna and it was delicious! So much tuna!! We’re going again tomorrow night for the dinner menu:)
