La Fiesta Patio Cafe

I came here after finding them on the Happy Cow app! Me and my husband were looking for somewhere we could both eat. I'm vegan but he's not and these guys were highly recommended! I'm so glad we tried them out! We arrived right at opening so they were still a little busy getting things ready and we're apologetic. We told them we're in no rush, don't worry! Our waiter was super on top of things, refilling our drinks and constantly checking on us to make sure we're good. Superb service! I had questions about if the puffy taco plate with the enchilada could be made without cheese or any dairy and of course no meat and the waiter asked if I'm vegan or not. I said I was and he jotted it down, making sure there would be no cheese and no sour cream etc. Vegan plate! I was so impressed! He went above and beyond for us! Will definitely be back!

P.S. I fell in love with the decor and wanted to try to haggle with the owners to buy some of their chairs and tables chandeliers and artwork because it all looks so chic!

This place really prides itself on their homemade sauces and they are incredible.
I got the fajita platter and it was HUGE.
My partner got the salad and it was the largest salad I have ever seen, delicious dressing as well.
MIL had enchiladas and wow, so so very good!!!

So thrilled to find a place with plant based options. Everything was absolutely delicious! Award winning is an understatement for the puffy tacos!

Service is quick and friendly. Food was amazing. Pretty much any option can be made vegetarian, which is always a win for me. Margaritas are fantastic. Can't go wrong coming here.

Started eating here in 1980 when they were on Austin Hwy. Excellent hot sauce!! Known for being healthy texmex, with vegetarian options. Incredible puffy taco's and guacamole. The tortilla soup is also top notch. No bar, but beer is available. Roger, the owner's son used to wait on us and now runs the Austin location with full bar. They used to give complementary fresh fruit sorbet for dessert.
The carne sauce on the enchiladas is some of the best too y'all.

First time here. It is great! Love the cheese enchiladas and the tortilla soup is next level. I will be back.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Texas. The food and service are consistently top-notch. If you like Chicken Tortilla soup and cheese Tex-Mex enchiladas you have found your nirvana. Trust me. Been coming here for over ten years. Absolutely love it!

Lunched here today after a long absence. Still great food. I had the puffy tacos, enchiladas and salad. Great long-time waiter Michael customized my plate with added onions, veggie enchiladas, avocado slices instead of guac, etc. So glad they're still serving such great food with friendly service! mike lawrence

You seat yourself. It was crowded at lunch on a Wednesday, a good sign.
Very colorful outside with some trees left growing in the front. Gives a nice feel as you enter. Cloth napkins, metal utensils, and ceramic plates.
Drink was delivered quickly and my entree order was taken at the same time. Salsa was good. I never like it when it is too spicy, this one has some bite without pepper being all you can taste. Chips were very thin and seemed home made. A little loud inside but it was pretty full of customers.
Ordered the puffy taco combo plate with guacamole and beans.
My entree took a bit to arrive and my waitress was very busy back and forth with meals.
Menu says they are famous for their puffy tacos and I agree. Everything was very good. I would definitely recommend!!

Great place to get a cold beverage and some local food after a long work week. I ordered my favorite puffy beef tacos (see picture), and some corn tortillas. I hope your experience is a good as mine.

This place has long been a regular spot for us. My wife is a vegetarian and she loves this place. I do well, too. The fajitas are great, and the waitstaff are always 👌.

This place has delicious puffy tacos!! Love the beef and the chicken ones. They also have a yummy brown rice. Great place!

We had an awesome get-together, & the food was great, with great service, & a festive atmosphere. We in the San Antonio area are really picky about our Mexican food, because we have alot of choices, & many of them are great. La Fiesta Patio is right up there in the ''we will come again" category.

Returning to a place that has existed at this location for at least 30 years. They had some cold mugs and beer to start us off.

We stopped in for dinner. Three of the five of us in our party had their puffy tacos ( beef or chicken ).

The service was great, and the food was good too. My beef puffy tacos were a tad salty, but this could be because I never salt my food - something for the cook to watch out for - if they read reviews.

Next time, I'll also have to see if they have a spicier salsa for the complimentary chips and/or food.

Otherwise, I would definitely say visit, eat and enjoy. Oh, they are only open for lunch and dinner.

I recommend the taco salad. We ate this huge bowl of salad with a light, crispy tortillas shell filled with choice of meat. Guacamole, sour cream, tomato, and onions all on a very large bed of lettuce mix, cabbage, and cheese. Warm chips and salsa were served first. I can't believe I ate the whole thing. I was so impressed I forgot to take a pic. So check it out for yourself.

This Place will forever be my favorite. My Parents used to work here in their Teen Years and it hasn’t changed a bit. This is Legit food, and I only and mainly come here for their Puffy Tacos. They never Fail me. Puffy Tacos 10/10. And what you do tend to notice is that there is a lot of older people that go here (age range mid 40s-) because this is a one of those places where you grow up eating there, then one day take your family and then eventually having your kids take their kids there and it’s like a tradition. Most of the time, it’s regulars who go here. It’s cozy, cute, old style but gives you that feel. I don’t know how to explain but service here and food here is great. Especially the Chicken Puffy Tacos, Get it if you never had gotten them, it’s worth it!
