Via 313 Pizza

My husband and I love VIA normally and thought it would be a fun Austin touch to add to our wedding. We set up our order as a late night bite and it was such a great call and a HUGE hit. The catering team is really nice to work with while planning and the process was super simple. We were also happy we could provide some regular options, some gluten free options, and some vegan/dairy free options to our guests with dietary restrictions. And the price/person is very reasonable while being a lot more filling than some other late night options can be! The pizzas arrived without any hassle and still warm! We are so happy we worked with VIA for our wedding and will definitely use their catering services again in the future!

I would give this place more stars if I could. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were greeted and treated so well, they made us feel like family. I believe Ryan was helping us with our experience there at the restaurant, as he was also helping everyone there as well. He would check on us and make sure everything was good and make sure we were having the best experience there. The food was delicious and was to die for. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area !!!!

The Good: I have been searching for a good pizza joint ever since moving here from Chicago, and this is definitely the closest I have ever come. I tip my hat to you. Crust is light and buttery, cheese is perfectly crisped, pepperonis perfectly curled, and the sauce has just a touch of heat. *chefs kiss*.
The "Bar-Style" pizza also reminded me of the Chicago Tavern Style as well.

The Meh: There was an issue with the ovens and they were running an hour behind. They did give me a free drink of my choice at the bar which was amazing. I only mention it because the 2nd time I went to get a pizza they were also very behind. I am not sure if this is a reoccurring thing or if I just got unlucky twice.

Our server Ryan went above and beyond once we told him it was our first time at Via 313. He recommended the jalapeño poppa pizza, which we got, and which was amazing. There was a long wait, but we were able to walk down the strip mall to juiceland and get a latte to kill time. My husband had a $3 lone star(!!) and I had a couple of very tasty margaritas. We also had the hot artichoke dip which was interesting and different with crunchy crostinis, and the hot brownie with ice cream for dessert which was just drreeeeamy. We’ll definitely be returning!

The cheese sticks, Detroit pizza and dessert was all 5 stars!!
The margaritas are a perfect combination with the pizza. They have a great choice of beer in draft as well.

Absolutely delicious pizza! Definitely worth the half hour wait to be seated. We tried 4 different pizzas and every single one was amazing. Our server was awesome - very warm and attentive, and patient as she explained each of the pizzas and their ingredients. Our first time trying Detroit style pizza and we won't forget the experience. Thank you!

I love this place! We went here for my husband's birthday. The pizza was great as usual! The gluten-free pizza is actually so good! Our server was very attentive, although the kitchen was really backed up. They brought us an extra order of cheese bread to go to make up for it. They also gave my husband a signed card with a free cheese bread coupon for next time. The decor and vibe are good, but it's always crowded with a big line for to go orders. Definitely go early or at off peak times for the best experience.

Best pizza in all of Austin. You get what you pay for here. Experience is always 10/10.

Austin is pretty far from Detroit and Chicago but Via 313 doesn’t have a competitor in the area that can touch the quality and flavor when it comes to deep dish pizza. In fairness, I have only tried the Oak Hill location and haven’t had the opportunity to try the thousands of establishments here in Austin (yet), that specialize or just have good pizza on their menus. But as a traveling pizza enthusiast, this pie is currently the best in the area. The sauce is spectacular (not too sweet and not too tangy), the crust is amazing (crispy and chewy all at the same time), and the toppings are quality fresh ingredients that make the pie stand out that much more remarkably. As for the price; it’s much more than a fast food joint, it’s not priced like a Michelin rated restaurant (which I’d be concerned if they even served pizza ;), but what it is, is great pizza served at a price that reflects its quality. The only complaint I have, is that the bar is small. It can be like Mad Max racing to get a seat for a pie and a pint. Lost revenue opportunity in my book, but the something the owners can figure out. Enjoy the pizza!

Amazing old school deep dish Detroit style pizza. Wonderfully balanced flavors on spongey, buttery, chewy crust cooked in unique pans which are sourced directly from Detroit, reclaimed from automotive assembly lines, previously used to store and move spare parts.

There’s nothing spare about the pizza though. Top gear! The cheese does that cool stretchy thing.

Coming from Chicago, this was the first pizza in Austin that made me feel like Austin finally had good pizza. (Home slice came close.) But this restaurant goes well beyond that. My daughter has a severe egg allergy, and this restaurant, beyond all others took the care in allergy handling to make it safe for her. (They've since removed egg from all their crusts.) I developed a gluten allergy, and their gluten-free pizza crust is terrific. It was one of the few restaurants where I felt like I could have an experience like I used to. So beyond great food, they've had very attentive people responsive to dietary restrictions, and though they do Detroit-style pizza, Via 313 has exactly the vibe that made Austin great.

Stopped in with family, nice location. Good selection of cold beers and lots of different varieties of pizza. The appetizer meatballs were delicious and went fast, hence the lack of meatball pics :) The pizzas were hot and made just as ordered, fast and friendly staff. Will definitely return next time I visit Austin!

Tasty Detroit style pizza. Definitely one of my favorite pizza spots in Austin. Great drinks menu and good variety of topping picks.

Vegetarian and vegan options. Their Detroit style pizza is fluffy and delicious. Our server even gave us a little piece of pizza dough for our daughter to play with. I saw your dinos. Was it in your napkin?
It was our first time visiting so they server gave us a delicious dessert on the house.

If you love Detroit style pizza this place is a must stop. I haven't had a better crust on a pizza in Austin. The toppings are excellent, the drinks are good, the service was top notch, everything about this place was worth a visit.

The cinnamon dessert pizza just about put me over the top, but it really can't be missed. Do yourself a favor and visit Via 313 ASAP.

We stop here for takeout on our way home on a regular basis.

Pizzas were expensive, but delicious. The combinations offered were unusual. Love the deep tangy flavor of the marinara. We carried out, so can't judge the atmosphere.

As fellow pizzeria owners, we very much enjoyed tasting a different style (Detroit vs our NY/Texas Style). The topping combinations were extremely tasty and well done.

My favorite was the Cadillac with the fig and Gorgonzola. The tangy balsamic with the sweet jam and salty prosciutto was to die for. Tried the Peaches and Herbs pizza also. A fantastic combination of toppings.

Got in after my dr appointment. Do I was hungry. The lady at the bar was so nice! She was knowledgeable, helpful, funny and kind. Food is great, good mix n match and vegetarian options. Good beers on tap. Just overall loved it.
