Loved everything about my experience. This was my second visit and it was just as good as the first. Two of the dishes we had (salmon tartar and short rib) were a bit too salty for my taste. I couldn't finish the salmon tartar because of the overpowering saltiness of the sauce, but the salmon itself was soft and tender. Otherwise, everything else was perfection. I love the atmosphere, the staff was kind and food was staggered ro come out just after we finished one dish. Decently priced, well executed dishes.

If you’re a foodie looking for an ever-changing flavorful menu with locally sourced ingredients, then welcome to Luminary! Every week the menu is updated based on what’s available in the area and what creative + ingenious dishes the chefs come up with. Consistently open for lunch, be sure to call / check their Facebook page for brunch & dinner availability. Reservations are a must for brunch. Ask for a seat at the bar if tables are full— the kind bartenders will take care of you. Been for both brunch, lunch, and dinner and I look forward to my next time in!

As promised, I would return to Luminary and amend my rating if they gave the flavor and ingenuity that I had grown to love. Boy, did they deliver last night! We had the Parisian salad, the charred carrot and ruby trout. I highly recommend the Parisian salad 4/5, but the charred carrot and ruby trout were both a 5/5. I would not change a thing about the latter two dishes. The cocktails were great. I had the cocktail with the St. Germain that was recently added to the menu which was light and refreshing. We will be back. Overall 5/5!

Prior rating:
We are both American Harvest fans so we were REALLY looking forward to this. I have to be honest, nothing really stood out at all. The go go potatoes were decent and my favorite out of all the dishes we tried. My chicken Caesar not so salad was a 3/5. I don’t think anything really stood out about it at all. It didn’t have any unique flavor combinations that set it apart from similar sandwiches. They LKP burger was also okay, 3/5. We tend to prefer juicy burgers that are medium. My totally impressed salad had all the component it needed flavor wise but the dressing didn’t take this salad home for me. It was the “almost” dish for me. I also wish that my chicken breast had more salt for seasoning and was more tender in general also a 3/5. Overall, we agreed that this was the appropriate rating. I suggest people gravitate to other dishes on the menu.

The food was excellent. Really tasty and things you can’t get other places. The menu changes every now and then. The music was overpowering for the small space but I think they did turn it down some when we asked as we had someone with hearing aids and they couldn’t be in the conversation due to the music. Service was also outstanding. Pricey but I don’t mind paying if the food is worth it. Interesting cocktails.

Delicious vegan 3 course meal option! Huge portions and everything tasted delicious. Appetizer, entree, and desert for $30. The drinks are excellent. I love that they offer a nonalcoholic options as well. Everything was delicious! Love the atmosphere and the staff.

We ordered several items and were happy with everything.

But those donut holes... Those donuts changed my life. I believed I reached nirvana while eating those donuts. They were the best thing we ordered. I stopped people in the parking lot and told them to order the donuts. Make sure to get extra caramel.

Long review but worth the read - esp in the post covid service industry.

Luminary is by far the best restaurant in Springfield! We have been there 3 times in 6 months and have thoroughly enjoyed our experience each and every time and was our new favorite place after the first visit.

First, the food and drinks: the food is so incredible. We have tried 6-8 different things on the menu, (one lunch date and two dinner dates), and each appetizer or meal is just as good as the next. Each meal is so meticulously paired with all the flavors on the plate. Each one is unique, and DIFFERENT than what you find in 99.8% of the restaurants in Springfield. I am so impressed with the fusion of innovation on classic meals. (Highly recommend the Canterbury Prime Ribeye with mojo fries and Cuban slaw. Literally the best dinner I’ve ever had.)
The drinks are SO good, so well crafted and clever! I love the drink names!

Second, the service and atmosphere: the vibe in the restaurant is so calm and they play great music! Everyone is there to eat a good meal, nothing rowdy or overly loud. We have seen the same people working each time we have been in there. Servers, kitchen staff, and the owners. Every single time the service is impeccable. Quick, SO informative and knowledgeable about the drinks and food menu. Friendly and personable, and you can tell they LOVE working there! They all operate like a big family!
I’m the post covid world, we have had 75% of our dining out experience be poor due to the staff. The complete opposite can be said for Luminary! We had 3 different people fill out water glasses last night. They all work together to make sure every table is taken care of and enjoying the dining experience and atmosphere.

Third, supporting a small business: last night at dinner I posted a picture of Grant as soon as we got there about it being our last date until the wedding, tagged them, and then we put our phones away.
After our meal, and dessert was ordered, one of the servers (not ours) came over to our table with a bottle of Rosè, and two glasses. We were so confused at first that we didn’t order that. The owner, Aurora, had seen my post on Facebook, and sent over the bottle as a congratulations to us on the wedding, and to thank us for our support. I cried, lol. It was so unexpected, but so so so incredibly sweet. We were just absolutely floored that she would do something like that for us.

It was already to go without saying, but this is one of the only restaurants we will eat out at from now on. We are very particular where we want to spend our money, and wouldn’t want to go hardly anywhere else but here to support these kind folks!!

If you haven’t been, go online to their website Luminarychefs.com, and get yourself a reservation, I promise you will not regret it.

Thank you Aurora and Jordan for creating our facorite restaurant. I hope you’re open for the next 100 years 🖤

This place was an amazing lunch spot. Highly recommend a reservation. The mocktail list and NA options make coming here in recovery a breeze. The service was nice and the food was to die for. Come here with confidence.

Couldn’t be happier with my choice for lunch on a trip to Springfield. I wish I was closer so I could go back (the burgers looked amazing!!!). Everything was so good and beautifully plated. The bartender was very sweet and made us two delicious drinks. Service was quick and courteous. I will be dreaming about those Go Go Potatoes 😍😍

We were lucky to get a table ahead of the lunchtime rush. The place filled up! We ordered 3 shared plates and the duck taco special. Split among 3 people, we had plenty left over. Highly recommend the “here for the yam bam” and the “man I love feetah”. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be back.

The food and service were enough to rate the five stars, but take back a half for the climate control. If you can arrange to sit in the middle of the room instead of by a window (especially a west window), do that. Otherwise, you will roast.
Now, the food—don’t you hate when you go to a nice place and they serve you pretty food that’s about sufficient for your cat’s appetite? If you had a small cat? Well, LKP serves people-sized food that’s still pretty. Seriously, I am stuffed.
The appetizers here are someone else’s lunch portion. I had the shrimp gambas and my wife had the bistro salad. For our entrées, I had the Alaskan halibut, while my wife had the bucatini pasta with shrimp. Loved every bite. They even brought around a box of cookies left over from lunch, and sold us the whole box for $8.
This is a very nice spot for a special night out. Thanks to LKP for making our anniversary a little happier!

The food and cocktails are as amazing and innovative as ever. It is still the best place to get a cocktail in Springfield. There is consistently a vegetarian (and sometimes vegan) option on the menu. The seasonally-inspired menu always has something delicious and unexpected. I prefer this atmosphere over the previous American Harvest location. Much more ambiance and the lighting is perfect. I recommend getting a reservation, as it can fill up quickly here.

Excellent addition to restaurant options in Springfield. We were in town to visit friends. We had been to American Harvest in the past and we’re excited to try this new concept. We had an excellent, attentive server, who provided good suggestions.

There were four of us and we ordered 5 items family style. The steak tartar was excellent, the seafood soup was excellent. The braised short ribs were a little fatty and salty, but still good. Cocktails were great, but on the sweet side. Would be nice to have a few traditional staples on the menu, but I’d imagine the bartenders can make anything requested.

Had a great dinner here last weekend, probably the best meal we've had since moving to Springfield. We split the BLT salad and masa gnocchi for apps, both were delicious.

I got the bouillabaisse as my entree and it was legitimately one of the best things I have ever eaten. I was expecting maybe a scallop or two, a couple shrimp, etc but it was chock full of fresh seafood, and the garlic baguette they served it with was super flavorful and perfectly toasted.

They also have an extensive menu of NA cocktails, wines, and beers, which was refreshing to see. I'm not against drinking by any means, but I was sick and taking medications at the time so I opted for their habanero/passion fruit NA cocktail option and it was superb. My girlfriend got one of their NA sparkling wines and you'd never guess it wasn't the real thing. We'll definitely be back!

I can't think of another restaurant in town that I'd rather eat at most nights. The flavor profile of every dish is perfect, everytime. The drink menu is fun and flavorful; and the staff are so friendly.
