Great Moon Buffet

My whole life eating at Great Moon, I think the food is always good. The food is super delicious and warm! Services are good and the waitress are always good and positive and helpful. I have never gotten any problem of bad services and bad food or feeling like I need to puke or feel sick after eating at Great Moon. I guess everybody is different. They do get soooooo busy on weekends and it does take awhile to get seated when it’s so busy because the buffet isn’t really that big, so it’s understandable. I do recommend people to go here because I believe that everything is good at Great Moon.

Food can be a hit and miss, depends on who is cooking, food can be really good or bland, but always loved this place. Sometimes there's a line but normally goes by decent fast.

Price not bad for a buffet, for 2 people it's $48.38 the last 2 times I went. Nice variety of foods and offers sushi. More times than not this place is great!

Usually decently busy, but they seat people fast and normally can find a spot and not really wait time. Food was well stocked. Service was decent on refilling drinks. Not very chatty staff but they do decent on keeping an eye on refilling drinks, Recommend a try!

I love this place I love the food also however some of the staff people who clean your table of dishes can be kinda rude. I was here a few days ago with my friend and goddaughter who is only 2 and yes of course she is going to make a mess we cleaned it up however as my friend and I was leaving we both over heard the lady who was to clean up the table in a very rude way say wow what a mess like sorry that you have to do your job I guess there were other families with kids here who also made messes but she didn’t say anything about them probably cause they weren’t white. So the little white girl makes a mess and that’s a problem but not when some black kids or Mong whatever they are make a mess okay got it I love their food i liked coming here but I don’t see myself coming back I do believe that some of that staff here do not like white people and she was definitely one of them

Food was very good and hot and fresh. Waiter was for good at hie job.

Good food great service. Was busy but we didn't have to wait for anything. Will definitely stop again when in the area

This particular buffet has a special place in my memories...

For birthdays, holidays, or special occasions - my parents would bring my siblings & I hear to eat. Now, I come once in awhile for dine-in/takeout. Selection has seems to stay the seem, and quality is good for the price. I personally have never had a bad experience with the food nor the staff.

If you are hungry for casual bite - this is a great option in the Maplewood/near St. Paul area. My favorite dishes are the General Tso's Chicken, Chicken-on-a-Stick, Dumplings, & Coconut Shrimp. The sushi there is also a plus! Whether it is for lunch or dinner, I do not think you would be disappointed.

I like that they do sushi here. It's pretty good too. They've got a great selection of your basics, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, cream cheese wontons, teriyaki chicken, etc. I wish they had a little more of a dessert selection though. But I do love me some almond cookies.

This restaurant is consistently very busy, so the buffet is consistently replenished. The restaurant staff provided the right amount of attention. They picked up plates and refilled our beverages without needing to be asked. Our family had a fun gathering. Thank you!

We were here earlier today. It was busy but we got in pretty quickly. The staff is all "Chinese" I guess. They are very attentive and friendly, but not too friendly after all you're hungry and want to eat! Sunday 6 pmish, 31.12 for two. Was there a senior discount? I didn't ask, but then I look so youthful! We really enjoy coming here, it is very comfortable, delicious and clean.

I didn’t expect this small yet inviting Asian buffet to have some amazing sushi, chicken and noodles but all of the above was beyond amazing! I was surprised, compared to many other buffets, how clean it was. The service was beyond fast, and everyone was extremely friendly. I would go back to this establishment every lunch if I could.

Easily the best buffets I've ever eaten at. Fantastic sushi, and everything was as fresh as one could hope for. Looking forward to eating here again whenever I'm in the area.

The food was so good and the sushi was amazing! Our party of nine had such a good time and are looking forward to our next visit. I’d highly recommend this place to my friends and family!

Due to the pandemic, this place is now takeout only place. My review is related to that. I have been coming here for years. At least once a month. Not that difficult as I live a mile away.
I ordered the Large Combination (1 side + 3 Entrees). Size is fairly large for about $13. The taste is the same as before when it was served as a buffet. Which was good.
Instead of 1 size, you do have an option to do 1/2 and 1/2 from the options. They got one of my sides wrong, but I could have easily checked that and I am sure they would have corrected it, but I don't bother with this.
The signs are everywhere and very clear. However, because the lobby area is limited in size, if there are too many people, this could be an issue in the confined space. I ran into 2 customers that ignored the face covering signs, but you can't enforce this as people can be belligerent so it isn't the restaurant's fault. They clearly indicate what is expected of its customers.
I used the online ordering system and it was a breeze without a need to setup an account. While I was waiting, I ran into the usual type of customers here that are very slow to order and can't read the menu ahead of time....even though there are menus all over the walls posted.
I actually prefer this for my Chinese food cravings. I don't know what it is, but the food tastes fresher than some of the other takeout places I have tried out while this was closed.
I like how they are handling this situation and they are getting 5-star review as I feel that the change they have made is suitable. Staff are very friendly as always.

Most people say this place is a gross restaurant, but I say otherwise, I've been a regular here now for about 6 years, my drink is already on my table as soon as someone sees me walk in! That's what I call great customer service!

Great moon buffet is always a hit for my family, even my 5 year old. The food is always really hot and fresh, there is always a new pan of somerhing consistantly coming from the kitchen. There is a wide selection of foods and desserts. I dont personally eat sushi but it looks delicious, fresh and tightly wrapped and there is always a good amount of customers making rounds to the sushi area. There were 3 different kinds of soups tonight (yummy) the wait staff Has always been very kind and attentive without being overbearing or lingering. I like the way you can tip at the register when entering and they give you a tip coupon to leave for your server ensuring the proper server gets the tip. The restroom was clean and well stocked as was the rest of the restaurant and my table. I felt welcome and there were plenty of items to choose from. My husband really likes the musselsb my kiddo loves the shrimp in the coconut sauce and My favorite is the mocha cake. We will be back again and again. Keep up the good standards.

Best sushi, friendly service. If you can't eat that much at the buffet takeout is a much more budget friendly way to go. My dinner was only $10.51 and included two little desserts and was the perfect amount to satisfy me.

Grew up eating here for celebrations. Everything is kept clean, mask required, gloves and hand sanitizer for covid. Staff makes sure food is always available, waiters are very kind and great.

Best buffet in mn besides the casino buffets. Not just your regular buffets. They have sushi and tons of fresh food! They've been here a long time and are consistently good and delicious! Worth the go everytime!
