The Wayfarer Restaurant and Lounge

I've been here several times over the last 15 years; every time I visit the area, it's on the must dine 1 night list.
We had the Tuna fillet, Roasted Halibut, and Beer battered Halibut and chips. All meals were excellent !
The food and service quality has remained top notch despite the economic challenges since the pandemic. Highly recommended !

It is a fine dining experience with great views of the beach . We were able to get a seat near a window . It was wonderful to watch the waves crashing on the beach at sunset . We had the clam chowder. It was the best clam chowder I've ever had. They didn't skimp on the clams with the right amount of potatoes. It was delicious with just the right seasoning . Next we had the crab cakes , they delicious also with plenty of lump crab . They were cooked just right, fresh and moist . The restaurant had a great atmosphere. The restroom was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful . Our food came out in a prompt manner. We weren't rushed . From the restaurant is near the beach and you can see the Haystack rock and walk on the beach . I will recommend this restaurant for great food, good service and great atmosphere.

My wife and I ate here for our anniversary dinner and were blown away by the food and the atmosphere of this cozy little restaurant in Cannon Beach. The food was out of this world, and the staff was super friendly.

Great choice for a dinner date with your significant other.

Stopped for a light lunch after strolling the beach. We started with cocktails: a Pirate's Mule and a Pacific Coast IPA. I had the crab cakes which were excellent and a much larger portion than I was expecting. My husband had the Oregon Pink Shrimp Ceviche which was also delicious and a very generous portion. I'd love to go back to Cannon Beach for a longer visit and would definitely return to the Wayfarer.

Absolutely delicious food, an amazing staff that was the perfect blend of being attentive and allowing for an enjoyable meal, the most gorgeous views and a great ambiance. We had a late lunch here and even though they were setting up for a wedding, we still had the most amazing service.

This restaurant has the most amazing view of the Cannon Beach while dining. Their window seats are the most romantic spots to dine. The food was excellent. Their chowder is the best tasting ever, better than the popular chowder in Pike Place Market, Seattle. It is a must try. 👌

We had a lovely dinner celebrating our engagement at the Wayfarer (the day after they reopened from their renovations). Our server Erik was wonderful, the food was all delicious, and the owner even came and chatted with us which was very kind!

Also, we wish we could’ve ordered all of the cocktails - they all sounded amazing. Would definitely recommend!

No line on Sunday lunch. Clamp Chowder was very good, coktails as well. Food and drinks are priced accordingly given the location and view. Overall very pleased. Parking is free and right in front of the restaurant.

We got lunch, a salad and shrimp ceviche. Service was nice, food was good. View of ocean was limited by two buildings on either side. Still nice.

Update: 3/24- The Wayfarer just got a little facelift and I liked it. It lighten it up a bit inside but they keep the wood. It was a nice soft change, I feel was needed and well done. Refreshing but not in your face. Food and staff were still fabulous!

Highly recommend the Wayfarer Restaurant. It over looks Haystack Rock so the view can't be beat! The service is the best. Wait staff is top notch and you will want for nothing. Great place for special occasions, or just to relax after a day on the beach. Lastly, The food is wonderful-pleasing to the eye, tasty, large portions and so filling. Highly recommend the fish and chips.

My fiancé and I came to the Wayfarer for dinner and had an amazing time. The calamari was some of the best we’ve had, and the clam bake was really delicious. The views and the service were top notch as well! We also loved the bananas foster bread pudding.

Stopped here for a nice lunch of their specialties. Got the clam chowder and the crab mac and cheese. Both were fantastic and made for a filling lunch! The view and staff were also amazing.

We were not looking for a big meal, so we just got a salad and the pork poutine, which was really good and used local cheese. Then the very best part was the delicious chocolate dessert named after Haystack Rock, which can be seen from the dining room windows. That was amazing! And when we couldn't finish all the honeycomb on it, they sent us home with a box full, which was such a sweet thing to do for us, especially since we didn't get a big meal. We enjoyed our stop at the Wayfarer very much. And the view can't be beat!

Great dinner. Awesome views of the ocean. A little pricey, but worth it.

Omg.. this place is amazing! I got the clam bake and it was so good! Hands down the best crab I have ever had. The view is beautiful as well!

The food was delicious...clam chowder, which I was told is made fresh every morning with a tried and true recipe that they have used for years and also the fish and chips. The view was AMAZING!! It is family friendly and casual attire.

Okay so I'm a handful when I eat out 😅 im allergic to beef, gluten, and I have gastroparesis ( my stomach is paralyzed) so eating out isn't the most fun for me but my family and I came down to see my sister who studies at OSU ( we do not live in Oregon so it's a treat to come down) she picked this restaurant so I had no choice but to eat here.
So If you have celiac diease there is a risk for cross contamination ( my waiter told me this) but there are many gluten free things on the menu that should be dedicated gluten free other than the fact that there is bread in the same kitchen.
Obviously a beef allergy is weird and this is more a seafood restaurant but i dont love seafood so I ordered the "Mary's Chicken" it was good. Had a unique cream sauce but not bad!
My waiter was very knowledgeable and kind.

First off; location location location. This place sits with an incredible view to haystack rock RIGHT on the beach with access just feet away. Stunning! Indoor and outdoor seating options available! Our waitress was phenomenal! She was kind, attentive, and overall an absolute joy to have as our server! Honestly she made over half of the experience. The food is fairly priced, and very good sized portions. We split a plate and it was plentiful and filling enough that we still didn't complete every last bite. The food itself was delicious, the hashbrowns were crispy and lovely, the eggs mushrooms bacon and cheese were awesome! We will absolutely be recommending to all of our friends and anyone looking for a place to eat!
