Awesome place, if you are able to appreciate what it has to offer. Teton Guitars!!! never played one and ended up buying one on the spot, i never buy a new guitar without research but it plays and sounds so good. Cool owner, definately knows his stuff and for under $400 i got a teton guitar that smokes my $800 Martin. Cools place would go back and reccomend. the negatives reviews are only projections of the people posting them. if your not down then you wont get it, if you dont dig Jerry then you might not get it either.

Absolutely loved our experience at Michael's Music. I took my daughter to check out the store while we were vacationing at the beach 6 months ago. So glad we stopped in. She fell in love with a Vintage Icon Strat and Michael made the experience really wonderful. She loves that guitar. I stopped back in yesterday and found a Regal Resonator that was singing to me and had a great purchase experience in the shop again. Thanks Michael, will be back again!

Michael is very knowledgeable in the musical equipment he sells. I was very grateful for the insight he had to give on past and present products he has had for sale. He also had the strings I needed in stock.

We are so lucky to have such a nice music store along the coast. I brought in an absolute piece of junk Mandolin I’d picked up off Facebook Marketplace. Brought it into Michaels Music and he kindly helped me out with it rather than laughing me out of the store. Since then I’ve purchased a new one from him at a super deal that sounds amazing. He also offers lessons online which I’ll be starting.
Michaels music is a warm, welcoming, little shop with a large selection of instruments and accessories for every budget and an owner with a wealth of knowledge.

If I lived in Cannon Beach, I'd be hanging out with Michael all the time. We pass through for business every year and after visiting Mike twice now in two years, I've gotten 2 guitars and 3 ukeleles! It's a great little shop and Mike is such a personable knowledgeable guy and it's an evil temptation to be in the shop because I'd just spend way too much time there and pick Mike's brain. So much better than the big chain stores. Worth a visit! Thanks, Mike!

I went into Michaels because I was curious about mandolins. Michael knew his instruments and was able to explain the similarities between mandolins and violins and demonstrate to me the difference in resonance between a starter instrument that was made of resin and a slightly more expensive instrument made of wood. Like other reviewers have mentioned, he offered me lessons and a ~10% "discount" (none of the instruments in the store, as far as I could tell, had price tags), but he did not pressure me into taking lessons or buying anything. He offered me a pick and a seat and said I could play as long as I wanted. By the end of my visit, I felt informed enough about mandolins and comfortable with the one he suggested to buy it. Two weeks later, I am still very happy with my purchase. If I lived closer to Cannon Beach, I might even take him up on the lessons.

Only place I've ever been where you buy two sets of strings for your 12 string, and get the third one free. Thank you.!! Michael was very nice and informative. Willing to take trade ins on children's guitars for next size up.within a year.

Michael's Music is an excellent, independently owned and operated music store that has been serving the coast's need for a quality music store since 2001. Great prices, great selections - the Teton guitars are particularly good instruments for the price and the Minarik guitars are super cool and rare- I've never seen any in Portland music stores. The store's owner Mike Corry is a wealth of musical knowledge as an educator and performer, unlike the vast majority of employees at big market chain stores (looking at YOU, guitar center). The "buy two packs of strings get a third pack free" deal is pretty awesome. Highly recommended.

Wish I lived in Cannon Beach. We travel alot for business and I love stopping in to little music stores wherever we visit. Just happened to drive by Mike's with no intention of buying anything, but ended up walking out with a very nice Teton guitar and my wife even got herself a ukelele that she's incredibly excited to play. Mike was really pleasant and patient and let me play just about everything in the store (I'm always like that when I buy a guitar!). I could have spent hours just hanging out and I'd be bending his ear and taking lessons if I lived nearby. Thanks, Mike!

About Teton guitars. Yes they are made in China but are one of rhe best guitars made for the low price. The company, based in Idaho, takes pride in providing exact instructions on how the guitars are made in the factory. I keep my Teton in a hard shell case, open it up after weeks (or months 🤫) and its almost always in tune. The sound of these guitars are phenominal and the company keeps coming up with new beautiful designs. We are lucky to have Mikes Music in Cannon Beach to be able to own one these quality instruments.

Amazing store! I was on vacation up in Longbeach Washington, and I was looking for a phaser pedal and I went to Music101 in Seaside and they were extremely rude and kicked us out. Then we went to Micheals Music store and had a amazing experience I bought a NUIX pedal with a bunch of effects! Amazing prices and friendly service! Recomend!!!!

Owner was extremely friendly and talkative, neat little shop and I really liked the Teton acoustic I played. It did have a Made in China sticker on the inside of the body, but for the price point I wouldn't be at all afraid to buy one.

Such a wonderful experience, shop owner went over and beyond to help. High quality merchandise. We live 5 hours away, and would make it a point to visit this store the next time we come to cannon beach.

A small shop with a great selection of ukuleles. The owner is a marvellous fellow who was very patient with me as a beginner/not quite intermediate player.

The owner and employees aren't pushy and very nice to talk music with. Bought a really nice guitar from them and would recommend to all music lovers!
