Sweet & Savory Bake Shop

We had our wedding cake and desserts done through sweet and savory. Meghan was very professional and took her time listening to our needs. We had a three tier cake, each with unique and different flavors. The cake was absolutely beautiful and the desserts for to die for. Sweet n Savory was one of our vendors that I thought I didn’t have to worry about and that’s what you need for your wedding day. She is professional, on time, and really great to work with. Highly recommend!

Please note that the pictures of the cake show that some of the flowers are fallen, however, they did not fall off. We had kids at our wedding and some picked off the flowers before the reception started. 😔

I have so many good things to say about this bakery! Meghan baked our wedding cake in October of 2019, and we just picked up our first anniversary cake from her today. For our wedding, she baked us a top tier wedding cake with three flavors of cupcakes. Everything was perfect. They were gorgeous, and absolutely delicious. Everyone loved them! The cake was the best. It was so moist and full of fresh flavor. We loved that she was so flexible about making the icing less sweet than is typical in America. It was just splendid! You can really tell that she uses the best ingredients. The fruit was fresh, and today as we tasted our first anniversary cake (a replica of our wedding cake), we were taken back to that special day one year ago. It was exactly as delicious as before! Thank you for everything, Meghan!

I have been meaning to rate this bakery for months. My experience here was fantastic. I had a special unique request and the girls hit it out of the park.
Not on their menu I asked for a pie-caken, they were excited for the task. We went with a spice cake and apple pie. The cake was fantastic my favorite was the frosting 😋, and the pie... yes the flavors were on point. When you are ordering your birthday cake or holiday pies I highly recommend Sweet and Savory.

Everything I've gotten from Meghan has been absolutely spectacular, from chocolate pies to the three different flavors of wedding cake she made. The decoration was perfect and our guests raved about the cake. Luckily the venue put some of each tier aside so my husband and I could try some--there wasn't much left at the end of the night!

A forever customer!! We first worked with Megan from Sweet and Savory in 2016 when she created our wedding cake and we’ve been hooked since :) Since then we’ve gone back to place orders for my sisters graduation - she made an awesome Towson Grad cake- our daughters birthday cakes for 1 and 2 years, which was adorably themed for her birthday at the barn and Wonderland for her 1st with an amazing Cheshire cat- and most recently gender reveal cupcakes! Her buttercream flavor is delicious and the whole cakes always come out delicious and beautiful! All of our guests always compliment the cakes because of sight and flavor and ask where it’s from!

We’ve obviously had other cakes at other events from local vendors and they do not compare in taste and texture to Sweet & Savory :)

We hope she always keeps her doors open because we will continue to seek her for our events that require cake/pastries :)

We hired Meghan for our wedding in September of 2019. She was always responsive. We loved our tasting. And ultimately loved our cake and cupcakes! We loved the wine-infused flavors as it went so well with our theme (: We highly recommend her!

My sister got a cake for my daughter's bridal shower. They took cupcakes and made them look like her wedding dress. When I first saw it, I thought WOW, simply gorgeous and quite a conversation starter. Then we tasted it. Wow again. The icing was amazing. Everyone was saying how good it was because the icing wasn't super sweet. Highly recommend!

Sweet & Savory Bake Shop cakes are absolutely delicious and beautiful! Meghan, the owner, was communicative and helpful throughout the process/tastings. You MUST try the wine infused cake/icing line. The chardonnay spice cake with the champagne butter cream is absolutely amazing. Our guests raved about the cake. We ordered a 3 tiered cake for 100 people (only had 80 guests), 3 different flavors and it was all gone by the end of the night. Highly recommend! Can't wait for our 1 year anniversary cake! :)

So if you want to have leftover dessert to take home after the wedding, dont hire Meghan because that will not be thing. I really struggled with finding a baker because I had little interest in cake or cupcakes, so finding Sweet & Savory Bake Shop felt like a sign. The variety Meghan offers is some of the best in the area. We went with the fruit tarts, 2 flavors of cheesecake bites, and 2 pies for a dessert table spread, plus a small cake for cutting but she offers so much more than that! Everything was ridiculously delicious! My guests loved the cheesecake bites in particular, but literally the only thing I was able to take home was our wedding cake and a small box of tarts. Everything else was devoured! The cake was moist and my icing picky husband loved it! At the tasting everything tasted fresh and authentic. Meghan was so easy to work with, and a steady presence as I navigated postponing our wedding. She was flexible and very reassuring! If you want a dessert spread that your guests will remember pick this bake shop!!

Sweet and Savory provided the cake for my wedding and they could not have done a better job! We had a small cake for cutting and 3 different flavored cupcakes for our guests and every one of them was delicious! The chocolate peanut butter especially were a huge hit. I would highly recommend them if you need a catered dessert or stop by their new store for tasty pastries and coffee.

Best bakery in Frederick by far! I'm getting married later this year so we picked up some cupcakes, which were adorable and scrumptious, and a variety of incredible cookies! OMG they were SO GOOD!!! We talked with the owner Meghan and scheduled a tasting when we can have a tasting of everything. I can't wait! She was so gracious and polite even though they were busy on a Saturday afternoon. Highly recommend!

I love Sweet & Savory! Their Key Lime pie is better than the pie in Key West. Their Nutella banana crepe cake was absolutely divine! My favorite cupcake is the red velvet cupcake- Always nice to stop by— it’s tough running a small business these days with all the shortages—you will see me again!

I ordered a small chocolate birthday cake with chocolate mousse filling and Swiss buttercream icing. It is delicious! It was moist and the little bit left is still moist five days later. It's also the perfect amount of sweetness. It's not overbearingly sweet, which my sister doesn't like (I just like sweets) and she loves it! The only "problem " is that they forget to put the flowers on and to be honest, the only reason I wanted flowers was to have more icing! So, not a big deal at all! Don't sweat the small stuff! I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this bakery! Everyone was so nice there, also! You won't regret it!

I most definitely asked for flowers and said that I didn't care what color they were. I told them that I wanted the extra icing as I stated in my original review. I am sorry that there was a miscommunication on your side. I told whoever took the order that it was a birthday AND that it was my birthday. I gave the bakery a great review and was chill about the misunderstanding so I don't understand why you are being so defensive.

I visited Sweet and Savory for the first time today. I visited rather late in the day so they didn't have a lot left (which is probably an indication of how good they are) but I was fortunate to get sliced of their strawberry pie -- delicious! I also got a savory Danish that was a real treat. My first visit but I will go back. I'll just make sure it's earlier in the day and I will definitely try something chocolate.

This bakery is amazing! I ordered a Yule log cake and it was beautiful and delicious. While in shop to pick up the cake I got some gingerbread cookies they’re incredibly good also. Will definitely use this bakery again in the future.

I have used these guys for many years to make special occasion sweets such as cakes and pies because they are always family favorites. Now that they have a retail shop and have added their savory snacks, we are all set for meetings and gatherings—the ones with bacon go first with my crew, but everything is great! And really nice people! Go!

We ordered cupcakes for a friend's birthday and they were delicious and a huge hit!! Great service, easy pick up and loved the variety to choose from. Also great convenient location. Will definitely be trying other items in the future !!

Everything looked good in the case and tasted wonderful. Bought cookies, slices of various pies and a slice of cake. I would certainly go back there. The key lime pie is incredible. Unique and intense flavors.

First time tryout. 5 stars. Desserts are less sweet and perfectly textured. like it. Will visit more in the future.

As good as the best for chocolate croissant and chocolate eclair. Real custard filling in the later. Both delicious!
