B-52s American Bar & Grill

I stopped by for a bite to eat in between showings. There was a corner dedicated to military veterans, but the theme carried throughout the restaurant as well. It has a cozy setting. The food was excellent. The wait staff was awesome. The best part is that it is locally owned. I'll be back. Did I mention the food was excellent!

Wow the food was amazing. Ther service was great. The atmosphere was so beautiful to see. Supporting the veterans was a blessing to see.

The service, food and atmosphere were great! The hosts and server were kind and helpful. The restaurant was clean and running smoothly. They seemed busy but well managed. The only complaint was I was freezing under the A/C. Thanks for a great first experience!

Great place to eat! Nice atmosphere and a tribute was to Service Men and Women. Food was reasonably price, fresh and delicious. Our waitress and the rest of the staff were super friendly and helpful. There is a bar for drinks and live music on the weekends. We had about a 30 minute wait, but there is a nice waiting area inside, if there is room. The fried pickles were some of the best we have had anywhere.

5 Stars all around! We visited this restaurant last week (Friday) for dinner. We were greeted as soon as we entered the door. The hostess was very friendly and told us what the wait time would be. We put our name in and sat in the waiting area. The wait was much faster than the original time we were quoted (which is always a nice thing!)

They sat us at a table in the front next to the bar and live music. We were worried that the music might be too loud to enjoy dinner. That wasn't the case at this restaurant! They have the live music volume at a reasonable level so that you can enjoy the music but still enjoy your company. The guy performing this evening was also wonderful. He played a variety of songs that everyone enjoyed.

We were waited on by the bartender (Stephen Tyler) who was phenomenal. He took the best care of us on our first visit. Anything and everything we needed was brought to us very quickly. Mind you, the restaurant was packed and so was the bar. The food was amazing and we each got something different. It is also nice that the restaurant carries a black bean burger!

Alyssa checked on us while we were still at our table and she was incredibly nice. We really enjoyed each and every person that works at B-52's. Overall, it was a wonderful restaurant with great food, drinks, and vibes. We will definitely eat here again the next time we are in town!

We keep going back and we never do that! Great food and the portions are big. We loved the service too and so find ourselves going back again. Even the little things like the mac's cheese are special. We are working our way through the menue.

The food was phenomenal! The atmosphere is so welcoming and warm! The military theme carries throughout the whole restaurant and the Wall of Honor at the entrance is awesome! The decor and furniture is high quality and just beautiful! In speaking with the owner Mitch, he was very nice and thanked us for our business. We would highly recommend B-52's!!

The B52 burger 7oz burger topped with pulled pork and pimento cheese without a bun! The place is nothing short of a five star… amazing food and great friendly quick service in a pub type setting. We will definitely be returning soon.

Absolutely the best place to eat after a long shift at work. I tried the new Cajun burger they have last week. Highly recommend this place to eat.

Our first time at the Bar & Grill was a truly great experience. The service was fast and friendly (thank you Ashley) and the food was great. We ordered the standard Patriot burger and it was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is welcoming and honors veterans. There’s even a Veterans Wall with photos of locals who have served. The pub chips are also exceptional. Very “crunchy - not floppy” as is stated on the menu. We will Most certainly return.

Great addition to the expanding local food scene. Went to B-52's for dinner and cannot say enough good things. The atmosphere was fun and family friendly with attentive staff and an owner that is definitely interested in going the extra mile for his customers. The beer choices are awesome and the menu is perfect for a dinner out, with something for everyone. Prices are in line with other local B&G offerings. Food was served hot and delicious. A standout item for us was the B-52 Egg Rolls (BBQ & slaw). For a Tuesday evening this local spot had a good crowd with plenty of parking in a safe part of downtown. Will definitely be back!

BEST place to eat, service great 👍 would like to see a custom drink menu of some short Mac and cheese(add the side of pimento to mix with it)the best you will find going to be there every Friday night

My family and I always look for different places to eat when we go out..we googled and the restaurant popped up...It was a bit of a drive but well worth it...the wait staff were very sweet and welcoming (which as everyone knows makes a big difference)... Taking the time to Answer questions and in a kindly manner ...the owner came in and took time to come greet us as well... the food was delicious and so the restaurant deserves well over a 5 ... If you out and about do stop in and enjoy some awesomeness...❣

Really like this place. Everyone is so nice; customers are staff. They work hard to make sure everyone is happy. The bacon is amazing.
The apps and burgers are great. My son enjoys them anchors up. Menu has an aviation theme and recognizes veterans.
The only thing that we ever ordered that was not what I expected is the fried fish. I only had it once so maybe I need to try it again 😉

When we travel we look for local places to eat, so we were really excited when we came across B-52s. We loved the vibe. A vide that honored our veterans and celebrate locals- what a great combination.
The menu items have military names, which was really cool. As a military family we really appreciated the salute.
We started our meal with: Foxtrot Fried Pickles and Freedom Fries- we enjoyed both of them. For dinner I had the Old Soldier Club sandwich on white toast with a side of the B-52 mac & cheese. It was a lot of food!! Jenni had the B-17 Burger with fries. Again it was a lot of food. We both enjoyed our meals. There were lots of other items that were on the menu, so we will have to plan another trip to Newton.
We thought the service was great. We were excited to meet one of the owners- Mitch Ball. He came by the table and chatted about the history of B-52s and about future plans they have.
We enjoyed our dining experience at B-52s. We think if you are a Newton, NC local you really need to support this business. If you are visiting the area, this really should be a stop for your lunch or dinner.

Never been here before so gave it a try. Food was great, staff was excellent, prices reasonable. Would recommend!

Food was good, service was probably one of the best if not the best that I have had! Friendly staff that helped my wife and I make a choice as our first time here.

Recommended to us at our doctor office. Fun bar with WWII theme and great lunch menu. The fish lunch and BLT wrap was great.

I give 5 stars overall, however. Burgers are big on their menu. I love a good burger, but they won't cook it below medium well.. I tried it, it's way to cooked and the meat quite dry... Not sure why they won't cook even at medium.. The live music Friday nite was great. Waitress was wonderful, we will be back but not ordering the burgers.. 😞
