Henson Robinson Zoo

A very delightful gem. Tucked away in the woods, there are creatures that are active, fun and adventurous. Don’t get caught viewing a monkey scratching it’s behind! The ageless turtle will keep you motivated to watch it move slowly but surely from one side of its habitat to the other, so make sure you have some extra time on your hands. The birds make friends with everyone, and the petting zoo includes a Billy goat that will follow you around it’s pen until you finally give in and pet him. Be cautious! The puma will sleep but when active will visit you at a pounced notice. So have fun and bring the kids!

Such a cute little zoo. On the smaller side but had plenty of animals. (some that I had never seen before) Everyone was very friendly and the gift shop had lots of neat little souvenirs. Will be back!

Doing a zoo a day for a whole week! This place was on my list. It was a cute smaller zoo. Perfect size for younger kids! Their animals seemed happy and healthy. A nice variety of animals too

Super cute little zoo. They even have viewing windows that show many animals inside where they sleep which is such a good idea. We went at 10 upon opening and all the animals had just been fed and were out and about. Highly recommend!!

For a small zoo this one sure has some great animals. We enjoyed the penguins, painted dog, and birds.

This is a great little zoo with friendly, caring staff and beautiful animals. We saw African Penguins, Koi, Bobcat, Mountain Lions, Sandhill Cranes, Bald Eagles, Owls, Horses, ponies goats, apes, etc. We were able to buy feed for the fish and the goats. A pleasant afternoon.

Though a bit smal, this little zoo has everything for the just curious kiddos. The electric train wasn't available during our visit we was able to walk around this quaint facility stopping at each area. The dock over looking the fishpond and feeding them made my little nephew's eyes glimmer with excitement... Well worth the very minimal entry fee.

It's a great zoo! I was impressed that it was clean, nicely laid out in a circular fashion and there was a nice variety of animals. We came to live in Springfield from larger communities that had no zoo, so I think some of the critical commenters should consider some perspective! Also, there's lots of activities for families with children to get involved in. That's another nice thing about this cute zoo! I'll be back for sure!

Beautiful little Zoo. Highly recommend if your in the area.

We had an amazing time at the Christmas event we took our great nieces and nephew they had a wonderful time. Can't wait for next y year. This zoo is so wonderful all year long.

This is a great zoo! It's never too over packed! Our family enjoys not being in the bigger crowds. Although I wish the zoo got more attention, I know when we go there its never to chaotic to let my kids run ahead of me a little bit and not worry about them getting lost.

They also have a play ground inside the zoo!

Love this little zoo! We invaded today for a day of Grandma Camp. They were very gracious. Lots to explore and still not be too overwhelming for the smaller ones.

Great stop with the family for a stretch when in the Springfield area. Very clean restrooms as well as water fountains.. Overall well laid out. Happy animals with nice enclosures. Nice playground also for the kids! Great selection and snacks in the gift shop. #reviewthezoo

Great small zoo, lots of animals in a small foot print. Been to a lot of zoos and they still had two animals I haven't seen anywhere else. Also, habitat improvement in progress which is good to see.

I absolutely loved this zoo! You can walk right up to the enclosures and the animals all see very active and happy. They have a lovely little gift shop and their train rides are the best! It's only $2 a person and goes around the entire park. Their $5 stroller rentals are worth every penny! We had a 5 year old and a 3 year old and they loved it. I can't wait to take the kiddos back again.

Small little zoo but staff was friendly and admission price was reasonable. Fish food available for small fee. My 5 year old really enjoyed it

The gift shop is mostly plushies.

A small, but very nice, zoo located at Lake Springfield on the far edge of town. With around 100 different species, it has plenty to keep the interest of anyone, even all the severely ADHD children and adults in our party. Henson Robinson Zoo is well maintained, offers opportunities to speak with zoo keepers, feed some of the animals, and even pet the snakes.

Very nice little zoo , beautifully landscaped! Reasonably priced.
