The new chef has made all the difference. This place is cooking up some exceptional grub now. The mango curry was outstanding -- there must have been two whole mangoes in there along with a half pound of chicken. Great value. Great flavor.

My family has been coming to York in August for 19 years. We always order Chinese or Thai take out from different restaurants in the area, just because it's easy, but in all that time this is the first place we have found that actually had really good food. Everyone in my family was sitting at the table talking about how good their food was, and I have personally lived in Bangkok for 3 years as a teacher, I know how real Thai food tastes. We will definitely be coming back here!

Tasty Thai is living up to their name - Tasty! My boyfriend and I *LOVE* the fried rice and vegan options too. It's the best homemade food with quality ingredients. And, I love the fact that they don't have a cruel tiny fish tank inside the lobby area - which always makes me feel bad for the fish at other restaurants. They are animal friendly and have an amazing chef. The food is totally worth the prices! Yum!

We happen to see this place during our visit here and hands down, this is one of the best Thai food places we have been to! The owner was very customer friendly and the food was excellent! I wish we had this place where we live! Thank you so much for the pleasant dining experience!

First ate here while on vacation three years ago, shortly after they opened. Amazing!!! Made a detour today to try it again - believing it wasn't going to be as great as we remembered. Every bit as AMAZING! Food as delicious, hot and fresh as the first time. Great, experienced wait staff. Worth the trip from anywhere!

While driving North on our summer trip, we planned to stop for a late lunch/early dinner once we hit Maine. A quick peek at Google Maps showed us that there was a Thai place right off the highway that looked like a great spot for a meal and be back on our way. While small, the restaurant doesn’t feel cramped; there was another family a few tables away, and we couldn’t hear them, and we had plenty of room for our three-year old to throw his toys on the floor without affecting anyone. The restaurant was neat and clean, with a tasteful décor, so we had the impression that the owner took pride in the place, and hopefully it would show in the food…

…and it did! Coming from Boston, there are many Thai places in and around the city, and while each has its own relative strengths, there’s a general sameness in a lot of the dishes, and I can’t really distinguish one place’s style of cooking from another. At Tasty Thai, we ordered the Pad Thai (of course!), Som Tum salad, Tod Mun, and Tom Yum soup. My American self can’t really say what the exact ingredients were that gave each dish its flavor, but the only way to describe it is a freshness with a unique taste. I’d remember the Pad Thai, and could pick it out of a line-up against the places I’m used to, and the Som Tum had a powerful kick. I wasn’t expecting a salad to pack such a punch, but I’m hooked. The service was friendly (it was an off-peak time of day, so there was only one person working in the front), and the prices were reasonable. I would have stopped by on the way home for some take-out, but they were closed. I don’t usually write many online reviews, but I was just surprised to find such a nice little place off the highway driving through Maine.

I don't think I can go one week without ordering food from Tasty Thai. I haven't found better Thai food anywhere in the area. They're quick, and they cook legitimately tasty thai food. That's truth in advertising.

Very tasty. Take out - Ordered the food (Pad Thai chicken) on line in the late afternoon and drove to the restaurant from Portsmouth. The food was ready upon arrival and tasted great

This Thai restaurant is very convenient for a meal while traveling to/from Maine, just minutes from Interstate 95, exit 2 in Maine. It's much easier to get to than the restaurants in downtown Portsmouth nearby, and the parking is free. The menu has been expanded to include Vietnamese Pho for a filling hot soup meal. Great on a cold day!

Delicious food at a fair price. The staff was friendly and made sure everything was just right. Plenty of choices on the menu starting with appetizers to the main meal. Will definitely be back.

I travel all over the country in search of good food, and Tasty Thai is an unexpected gem. what makes it so good? Details. Most food today has flavours that all run together. The Thom Yum Gai soup has such distinct flavours that you can pick out. And the rice noodles in the Pad Thai are delicate, flavourful and perfectly cooked. They don't come out in a clumpy, gooey, stuck-together, starchy mess. It's delicious, and everyone there is extremely courteous.

I love thai food. Everywhere I go, thai has been my go to food if I can't cook. They don't say they deliver, but I am glad that they were able to deliver my food. Just ordered today and I'm so sick that I can't even stand up without falling, and they accepted my orders for delivery. I'm glad that my kids are going to eat healthier foods than dominoes. It is really hard to find places that delivers. Thank you!!!

When I walked in the door, there wasn't a sign to tell me whether to be seated or to wait for service. After what seemed like forever (20 Seconds,) a nice lady, who was passing by the front, told me to pick any seat I would like. I suppose this isn't a problem for regulars. // The nice lady was very friendly. However, I did not feel there was a great deal of focus on me. Shouldn't the customer be the first priority? I didn't want to chat. I just wanted some food to-go. // The very friendly lady brought me the menus where I chose to sit. And then, without customer focus, she hurried away again. // Don't get me wrong. She did a really wonderful job taking care of me. It felt like hours (maybe a minute passed,) she returned. I ordered a Mandarin Orange Soda, some hot and sour soup, and I think they were Basil Pad Thai noodles, all to-go. She helped me choose the noodles. I said she was very friendly, didn't I? // The very friendly lady brought me my drink. The Mandarin Orange soda was a really fresh tasting carbonated drink that is bottled in Maine. It came in a glass bottle which she opened and filled my to-go glass. It tasted like fresh Mandarin Oranges. That is kind of strange, isn't it? Yeah, unfortunately, that soda didn't make it out of the restaurant with the rest of my food. It was delicious! // Just as I finished enjoying my soda, the very friendly lady brought me the rest of my food! Whoa, I didn't think Tasty Thai was a speedy operation until this happened. It is important for my pride that I tell you, I am starting to get a cold. I really needed something spicy and tasty. I am not normally this impatient. // I gave the really nice lady my credit card. Like the wind she was back with a receipt and a pen. I paid and took my food back to my hotel. I really didn't want to drool and blow my nose many times in front of other people. // Once in my room, I set my food on the table and quickly walked to the lobby to buy a couple bottles of water. When I returned I got down to business. That soup was severely needed. After all, there is nothing like hot and sour soup when you have a cold setting in. // Oh my, it was still really hot. I almost burned my tongue. Sirens, bells, whistles, and fog horns go off! This soup is fantastic! NO, I MEAN FANTASTIC!!!!! I have never experienced anything like it. I have traveled the world. Food is my thing. NOTHING BEATS THIS SOUP! Almost every hot and sour soup I have consumed up to this point has been hot and, well, sour. All other flavors have been optional. This stuff was packed with fresh herbs and spices. Did you miss the part about FRESH? This is, obviously, a lost art! Yes, the flavor was artful. It also had wonderfully lean, tender, small, and plentiful strips of white chicken meat. The soup was very watery in consistency. I usually go for the light gravy types. Still, it was totally awesome. That hot and sour soup hit the spot. The cup of soup was gone as fast as I could consume it. // Still feeling hungry, it was time for me to eat some noodles. As well as the soup, the noodles were very hot and almost burned my hands when I picked up the to-go tray. They were packed with fresh herbs and spices and were exploding with amazing great flavors. I don't think the cook at Tasty Thai even knows there are these neat little bottles of dried up spices at the grocery. That IS what everyone else uses. Really, it was all done with fresh stuff! // I barely made a dent in it. Maybe I ate one-fifth of the noodles. Yes, the portion was very generous. Even had I not been coming down with something, I would not have been able to finish the very tasty noodles. // Very Friendly Lady, please focus on you customers. You are a great server. You could be TOTALLY AWESOME! // Tasty Thai, please put up a prominent sign to let customers know if they should seat themselves or not. // Cook, please keep using the fresh stuff. The convenience of the little bottles at the grocery is highly overrated. // Everyone else, EAT AT TASTY THAI!!!! I thought it was really GREAT!

I eat a lot of Thai, I'm not saying this is the best Thai, but in the area, for quick takeout, this is the spot. 5 thai bistro downtown is good too if you want a more sit down experience, but generally I don't think it's worth the hassle and slightly higher prices unless you're going for something more authentic vs mainstream thai.

Sorry I wouldn't stop driving till I got out of Boston rush hour traffic, and I took the first exit in Maine and discovered this place. Thai iced tea for a treat, larb, pad see ew, excellent pho. Filled me up with great satisfaction. Terrific service by lovely Thai lady with a quick smile and great laugh.

Fresh authentic magic 🔥
I judge most Thai restaurants by their sauces and apps and there's are the BOMB!
We got the crab rangoons, dumplings, shrimp in a blanket and pad Thai.
I wish we lived closer!

Very good Thai food with generous portions and great prices. Love the spice levels. Waitress was very nice and helpful. Not a tourist trap but just good food.

Super friendly service. The chicken pad thai, level 4 spice, was so good. Right amount of spiciness and great flavor!
