Southdale Library

I just went there to vote. Sadly I heard it's being torn down its a beautiful piece of mid century architecture that should be a landmark but it seems every place around here is being torn down to build new?

Such a huge selection of books and great community resources. Love their kids area too!

They have a big library here close to everything in the area. I loved that they had lots of seating for working on my laptop!

Love this library. 2 stories with multiple sections with computers, scanners, microfilm and microfiche machines. Huge selection of fiction, nonfiction, encyclopedic, magazines, movies, CDs, audiobooks, reference materials. I consider it the flagship location of the Hennepin County library system. Great hours too!

Such a great library! The librarians are wonderful, helpful, and kind. They make my children feel included and welcome. We go here regularly and there is always a diverse selection of books for me and my kids to read.

We were looking for some European city guide books. Southdale has a huge selection of travel guides covering most countries and major cities. And from different publishers so you can figure out which you like the best.

Great Covid changes, including one way in one way out. The heartbreaking part is the children's area. It looks so different with all of the toys and playthings removed. All of the books are perfectly spaced to be socially distanced. There is even a sign that reads no reading here (I'm sure there is a specific area to study/read, and can be cleaned)💔!!!! Awesome to have the ability to have access to books!!!!! Thank you Southdale Library!!!!

My home laptop went down & I remembered seeing all these computers on the 3rd floor of the library, so in I went with all my paperwork!
I spent almost 5 hrs working away. There were headsets, great Internet speed & helpful tech folks to assist.
What a great experience; I actually achieved more concentrated time than I would have if I had worked from home.

The Southdale Library staff are as helpful as the facility is beautiful. I recently hosted an event in the meeting room and was truly blown away by the consideration and support provided by the staff. The room was spotless and the assistance I received was over-the-top terrific. This is a great library because it has great people dedicated to making it that way.

Have used this library location since it was built, early 80s, I think. Grab & Go here is not convenient during the pandemic, because it is on the 2nd floor. There is not enough space on the 1st floor. At least the book return is located on the 1st floor. This library is on three floors. Too many stairs.
Hopefully, this library will be more handicap accessible, when it moves to Southdale Center.

I like southdale library they're open late which is good for me because I don't get off work until 4:30 and I work downtown and it's hard to get to the library before it closes. The staff are always friendly helpful.

This is an awesome library. Full of fun and joy .They even have little treasure hunts for kids.

I love this place. The staff and volunteers are awesome and they do everything they can to help you out. They also have beautiful huge windows and lots of comfy places to sit and work.

Great library system and this is a very good branch. Big library means lots of resources, large children's book/interactive play area, with a fair number of activities.

I love the library. It's always fun to go there. I'm looking forward to when they are in their new location.

Got my library card here and the librarian was so so nice to me! We love libraries here in Joshtown!!

Great library, tons of good selections of books. We go either here, Augsburg or Washburn. But Southdale is the best!
