Upper Playground

Unique SF clothing shop, especially if you want to get someone something from the city but not your typical, touristy SF gear. Great staff.

I could seriously go broke if this shop was close to home. All of their clothes are high quality, great original designs, and affordable for a small business. I have worn and washed what I've gotten a few times over and nothing faded or shrunk which is so rare and uncommon when every large brand sources cheap fabric. I realized they have an online shop with such a huge selection while leaving this review and my wallet is not going to be happy.

Great shop in SFs Lower Haight area with amazing artwork (with collaborations from local artists) on hats, shirts, hoodies, and paper. Love the walrus logo! Always playing great music and the service is attentive yet laid back! If you want something cool from an awesome SF Institution stop and shop here, you won't regret it!

I have loved upper playground for Years and I finally got to visit the store on a birthday trip out to CA. The staff was super cool and even made a shirt custom for me! Definitely one if the best birthday gifts I have ever recieved! I will always be a customer ♡

I love this place ...but only when I got lotsa cash to spend. Don't get me wrong it's great! Awesome great quality clothing, with graphics from local artists as well as other talented folks from all over... They have it all from zip up hoodies, t-shirts; as well as cushions, shower curtains, ashtrays, wallets etc... Is a MUST VISIT spot if u are in the lower Haight.
Check them out! (My personal favorite is Sam Flores).

Great store with original sf artist work. One of my favs is Sam Flores as my only piece of art is a print titled Innocent When We Dream. My partner loves the flak caps and the shirts are sick too. Definitly worth stepping into the shop if you're in the Haight.

I love the quality of the garments at Upper Playground. I have owned many of their garments for over 15 years. I just bought some to replace old ones. Great designs both the images on the clothes but also of how the garments are manufactured.

I was visiting San Francisco and I popped into the store while waiting for the Ramen shop across the street to open. The shop is just off the path from Haight street and I'm sure they get lots of tourists like myself all the time. The owner was behind the counter that day and was beyond friendly. He left me to browse and when it came time to buy he was very open to conversation. You can tell that he takes pride in the artists that do the designs on the clothing and had a great story about each one. He seemed like a genuinely great guy and I have continued to buy clothing from his store online since and lots of word of mouth advertising.

If you find yourself in San Francisco checking out the shops around Haight/Ashbury be sure to poke your head in and see some clothes designed by some real talent. The inside is nice, the clothes are well displayed and there is enough art and photography inside too keep you looking. It may be a store to some people but to me it was an unexpected highlight on my vacation.

This place is so freaking dope if you're looking for some badass threads that not too many people have. This establishment has clothing with art on it that's from local street artists and other local artists as well. This place is helping in a big way to keep the street art scene alive by supporting the artists themselves. Highly recommended if you're in badass clothes, hats, jackets, and other things of that nature.

Excellent local shop(s)! This is where you go to get local artists wares & wears. They also are a part of keeping it 'real' in Lower Haight & helping create a sense of community with the artists, designers & people who live here. Awesome folk.

Been passing this place for months, as I live around the corner and was more of a DSF guy. OR SO I THOUGHT. this store has a lot of really dope shirts, from a plethora of different local designers. Definitely hot to show off your local cred. Nice staff, clean joint, such a wide variety of awesome tshirts, hoodies, and hats to choose from. There's a lot of designer t-shirt joints in this part of the city, and Upper Playground had a lot of stuff I've never seen. I was glad I went in.

I loveee this place I have to come here at least once a year and get something for Christmas gifts or a little something for me. 😉 be careful with the shirt sizing sometimes they use different brands of shirts they print on but if it turns out to not fit me right I use them as patches 😄

Wow... the level of artistry and imagination is overwhelming. each artists work we enjoyed seemed better than the last. what a jewel in the flamboyant hat that is San Francisco.

If you want unique clothing this is the place. Various styles of art on everything from hats and shirts to hoodies and even books. Buy a gift specific to your friends and family but don't forget yourself 😉

Great Tshirt shop with cool local shirts and prints. Went in to get something for my husband as a gift left with an awesome shirt for myself! Great helpful staff
