Traveling all the way from Switzerland, known for its love of bakery delights, my visit to this bakery in San Francisco was met with high expectations.

Thankfully, I was far from disappointed! The excellent coffee, along with the incredibly fresh and perfect croissants and pastries, left me in awe.

Without a doubt, this is the best bakery in San Francisco, and I enthusiastically recommend it to everyone.

I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

So many delightful choices. My favorites are the bouchon de chocolat, tigré gateaux, pain Suisse and the forestière crêpe.

Service was good although there was only one person taking orders, making coffees, serving them, and bussing the table. And it was a Sunday morning.

The atmosphere was very french, chill, and ideal for a Sunday brunch.

Very charming French bakery. The croissant is delicious and the cappuccino is just amazing.

Absolutely a delight to have breakfast here. We were trying to find a French bakery in the area and we were pleasantly surprised to find this one. The pastries they had on offer presented a great selection as well as tasting amazing. We had asked for a mocha and were fully expecting to receive a paper coffee cup in a lid, we were excited to see that they had a large coffee cup brought out directly from the barista to our table.

They are a little bit expensive but it is very much worth it in terms of flavor and quality. The atmosphere in the building is very nice, and they have pleasant music that fits the theme of the bakery itself.

My wife is from France and she was very happy to find this place.

We happened to stay just across the corner from this bakery, so we went there every morning to grab coffee and freshly baked pastries. The croissants are amazing, the coffee is good with a lot of milk options. Staff is nice and the place itself cozy to stay inside.

Great coffee that was very fast, great croissant, it really is the best croissant in SF (the almond one). Great environment, kind of a sunny bright, European kitchen feel. I'd say this place wins on all fronts compared to the other shops in the area! It was really quiet too. Just a few other customers.

BRUNCH OF MY DREAMS
This place is not only adorable but the staff is so sweet. I came in with my dad and they hadn’t seen him for a bit so they gave us a chocolate croissant on the house. Food is the way to my heart and that was only the beginning of an amazing experience. I ordered their avocado croissant toast (yes a second croissant) and couldn’t have been happier. It was one of the best croissants I have had to date and felt like I was in a little Parisian cafe eating it. Of course we had to wash it down with an espresso and mimosa. My only regret is not ordering their French onion soup (it’s vegetarian which is a rarity to find). I cannot say enough about how much I loved Le Marais! I will be back and I don’t even live in San Francisco.

Charming quiet bakery cafe. The decor is white and serene, the service pleasant and the food is really good. My daughter enjoyed the crisp levain with priuscotto, while I, suffering from the indignities of a Whole30 diet had to settle for an Americano, hard boiled egg, fruit and avocado. Everything was really great! I will definitely visit again to sample the amazing looking pastries.

Great little French bakery. We missed the crepes that are only available on Saturdays. The pasteries here are better than some other overrated places downtown.

New spot for pastries and coffee off Polk st, on Sutter. Highly recommend the scone! Coffee delicious, big space, lots of light, good service. Nice Strada machine and Verve coffee.

Kind of cheesy Paris decor, but lovely space with lots of seating.

Love the ambience and pastries! Barista was very friendly and nice.

While sipping on your coffee you can watch the bakers make fresh pastries before you eyes! Super cool and beautiful cafe!

Amazing almond and chocolate croissant that was truly buttery. Same goes for the ham and cheese croissant. From my bakery background, it definitely gets my approval.

Everything about the place is 5 stars: food, service, ambience.

I am visiting all coffee shops near this-month-home and this one stands out. The price is salty — as everywhere around SF, but totally worth it.

Nice playlist as well.

Croissant Batons, with a hint of honey and the crispy and soft bite experience of a perfect croissant were a must have. The coffee was good. We also tried the gruyere croissant, twice! I would have gone for a 3rd day had we been there longer than a weekend.

Great pastries, cute spot and friendly staff. The croissant amande was pretty authentic and the coffee was a great balance with it.

This is apparently a source for the croissants at William-Sonoma, but I have my doubts because they're WAY better than the ones you can buy at the store. The staff are super nice and the food is great, give it a shot if you're ever in the area!

Best pastries ever! My favourite is the little Almond Financer !!! Good service and good value for money ( you always have something for take away, the portions are pretty good 😊)
