I can’t give this team enough stars! From reception, billing and of course Dr. Schwach. You are all amazing! 4 TPLO surgeries, various eye and allergy visits and most recently the passing of our beloved Sissy, during this hard time they all represented themselves like family. Thank you

This place is simply incredible. Everyone is friendly and intelligent. My frenchie is well cared for and while she gets nervous coming here shes starting to develop reasoning that it's not bad at all.

The community that also come here are super kind. Avenues is the best.

I hesitate to write this rave review but I must, Avenues is all around the best vet hospital. And with 2 frenchies, we’ve met most every other well regarded vets :)

I used to work here as a vet tech; once from 2000-2002, then a second time from 2015-2016. Excellent medicine, top-notch surgery. Would happily pay full price as a client to have my pets taken care of here.

My favorite vet in the area! I have 3 animals, so things can get expensive... They are cheaper than Oceana Pet Hospital (previous vet) and Blue Pearl (emergency vet). The staff is always super helpful, fast service, and docs are super knowledgeable. They take the time to listen to all of your concerns, no matter how small and explain things in easy to understand terms.
The docs have always called to check up on my animals the next few days after an injury/illness visit.
You can tell everyone is compassionate about the work they do and the community they serve!

Even after I move further away, this place is definitely worth the drive back!

Hands down the best vet! If you have a Bulldog of any kind, this is the place. Caring, professional and efficient. They don’t push unnecessary procedures or medications. We’ve lived all of the Bay Area from San Mateo to Richmond and we still come to Avenues. Anytime we didn’t go to Avenues we regretted it.

We have been going to Avenues Pet Hospital for over 25 years. We lived in Redwood City for 13 years and still drove up to see the staff at Avenues. We love, love the staff and doctors!! They have seen our labradors thru the years. Avenues is like family to us and our labs!

We have brought our French bulldog here for five years- he was even born here! The staff are great here. They treat us with compassion and care. They don't overcharge. They're always in communication. They're straight forward. In a tough job, they do an amazing job! We love their team :)

Don’t go anywhere else!

Everyone at Avenues puts your pet first. Experienced veterinarians, incredible bedside manner have been invaluable support to me and my dogs over the years. It was worth driving up from the peninsula and taking public transit from across town. Years ago my dog had a pinched nerve and wouldn't/ couldn't stop yelping the whole car ride, outside on Taraval passers by thought I was beating him. As soon as he got on the table, he stopped, and relaxed. That's how good the care at Avenues is--a dog in crisis, instantly feels safe.

Take the extra time to go, and give you and your pets the peace of mind that comes with the best care.

Absolutely great experience all around from the team at Avenues.

We were initially referred to Dr. Anderson for a teeth cleaning for our 10 year old hound dog by our dog walker, and after a consultation decided to move forward with the procedure along with a mass removal for our aging pup.

We were incredibly worried about putting our dog under given his age but the team at Avenues was stellar.

From the communication we received, to the pre-checks before surgery, to check ins before, during and after surgery - the entire experience was fantastic.

Our pup is healing well, and we can’t recommend the team at Avenues highly enough.

Been bringing our dogs here for years. Dr. Anderson has an amazing way with small dogs and provides clear explanations. Now that he has cut back his hours in semi-retirement, we see his staff vets more often. They have all been up to the task and the practice looks to be in good hands.

We took our 11 month old frenchie Potato here for his brachy surgery after having tons of other frenchie owners telling us to go here because Avenues is “the place” for brachycephalic breeds in the city. Dr Schwach came out to talk to me in detail about Potato’s condition and what the options were. He ended up having a severe case of BOAS and needed all four aspects of the surgery. 21 days later Potato is a brand new dog and is truly able to be a puppy again, ready to run and play! Plus he snores WAY less - going from snoring while awake and like a jackhammer at night to silence or very soft snoring now. Thank you!

Been bringing my fur babies here for over 30 years. So some have passed and have adopted more over time. From the front office staff to the technicians and vets, they are all so caring and don't push treatments that your pets don't need. Totally trust these people

For 23 years we have taken our dog family members to the Avenues Vetenary Hospital. The staff is always helpful, calls are returned quickly, and everyone treats the pets with kindness.

They are running very efficiently with curbside drop off and pick up and consultation over the phone. We brought in our kitties for their annual checkup and they are direct and to the point, not trying to push unnecessary services

I have been with Avenues since 2003. First with Dr Anderson then
Dr Vickers and Dr ONeill...three WONDERFUL doctors. In 2006 I adopted a kitty that turned out to have many very serious chronic health issues since infanthood. At 3 months I was told by Dr Anderson her life expectancy was not too promising..but he didnt give up on my baby. Thanks to the wonderful careing Doctors at Avenues she just turned 11yrs old 2weeks ago. The techs are great and the front desk staff ..well they are like a family..staff is not who they are, they are caring kind wonderful professional devoted people. The word staff does not do them justice. I thank god for Avenues pet hospital and everyobe there. They go above and beyond whats expected. They are truly a blessing.

I don't mind drive 50 miles from South bay to Avenue Pet Hospital.
Dr. Schwach is competent and kind.
