As a designer, I first visited their shop on Hayes St as a patron 10 years ago. Since then, they have always been a reliable resource for furnishings and home decor. As I am familiar with the perils of the furniture industry, shipping complications, etc. Matt and his team have always gone above and beyond to assure my client’s orders go as smooth as possible. I look forward to collaborating with Matt for many years to come.

Maker and Moss is a gem of Hayes Valley, situated in a reconfigured industrial space and offering sleek furniture, handcrafted glass and ceramic furnishings and both imported and locally produced tableware. The product lines are beautiful and contemporary, leaning rustic. The staff are amiable and helpful, and in six years, maybe 20 purchases, I have no regrets and a list to bring next time.

Unique fusion of curious decorative objects and post-modern style furniture. There's something gilded and artisanal at every price point, and the staff is warm and helpful. Perfect spot for weekend browsing.

Truly unique Decor and accessories. So much to choose from, earthy, trendy and cool at the same time. Many pieces with repurposed materials utilized in a clever way. Have to go back and shop a little more. Prices are a little high as the rest of Hayes Valley stores, that's my only feedback to store.

Very pretty boutique, bit pricey

Do not order from this company. Back in February I ordered a tray that was not packaged appropriately so it arrived broken. Graciously they ship me a replacement item. Unfortunately, that item was also not packaged correctly and also arrived broken. I then asked for a refund which they said they would process, but I still have not received my refund over a month later. In the meantime, they will not respond to any of my emails asking where my refund is. Do not order from this company!
