Mollie Stone's Markets

This grocery store is pretty remarkable. While it's not situated in my neighborhood and I don't go there daily, I do swing by every so often to grab keys from the keycafe machine when I'm showing homes nearby.

Yes, it's true that their prices may be on the higher side, yet this store has the most extensive and superior collection of goods in the entire city. Whether you're seeking a rare ingredient for a recipe or something exotic, you're bound to find it here. Their selection FAR surpasses that of Safeway and even Whole Foods, with everything from flowers, bakery items, seafood, a million cheese options, a food bar, deli items, sushi, and even Kosher foods and meats. They also carry an expanded selection of items for Passover, in addition to imported foods.

I appreciate the convenience of their outdoor parking lot, which is effortless to get in and out and have never been full, in my experience. The store's prime location on California and Steiner is a huge plus, and its immaculate, well-lit interiors make it a joy to shop in.

There is a small Starbucks in it, with indoor seating.

Granted, it may not exactly your everyday grocery store, but it's definitely worth a splurge every now and then when you're feeling fancy and in a mood to indulge.

Fresh produce, good selection of prepared foods, candy from See's, fish & meat department are excellent.

Yes! Deli! Sliced roast beef on a huge bun. Cheese, tomatoes, green peppers, onion slices, pepperoncinis, pickle slices, mustard, mayonnaise, oil, salt, and pepper. Small carton of chocolate milk. Must say the store was clean and bright. I enjoyed shopping at Mollie Stone’s Market more than shopping at Safeway or Cal-Mart (and I am big fans of both of those SF stores).

Excellent fabulous staff. Yvonne is extra helpful during my gift card debacle (it was demagnetize) she was super professional, calm and helpful with 5 different customers coming at her. Anyway, great grocery selection and good prices. 4/22/22 Still super great! But remodel now no lottery, :( so much cheese. New layout good. 5/19/23 still super great but much more expensive. Friendly helpful staff. Delicious but very expensive prepared food.

Nice clean medium sized grocery

A place I can count on, always.

I am discovering some new recipes, which yield for "2
pounds beef tenderloin or boneless sirloin of beef, trimmed of all exterior fat and cut int 2-by-¼-by-¼-inch strips". I showed to the butcher, who immediately make the best recommendation for boneless sirloin instead, since the other choice is basically 2 lb of filet mignon that could break my bank. Not only that, after weighted, he offered to help me with the cut.

If not for him, I could spend extra hour on the new recipe I have never done before, just to cut the beef right. The dish turned out to be marvelous! Thanks to the butcher at Mollie Stone, you always have good people!

This is my absolute favorite place to shop.FTR I have never paid $18 for a quart of OJ as one other reviewer claimed. That being said I love the fresh orange juice and it is consistently delicious. From the produce to the butcher I am very pleased. I am especially impressed with the amount of charcuterie items. I'm a nibbler. Also the butcher's case guys are the best! They are always willing to help from choosing good steaks to a special cut of meat used for my home made soups passion. I've never had a bad experience and even used the shuttle once when I wasn't driving.

Store with helpful clerks and quality items. The meat & seafood department is beautiful and amazing! The neatly organized, gorgeous cuts of steaks! The clean rows of large crabs! The aisles are narrow and a bit cluttered, but they're packed with good stuff. You must also check out the ready-to-eat delicacies at the fragrant deli counter.

Michael went above and beyond in helping us get some steaks! We came in after the meat department was closed and were going to settle with some prepackaged ones. He noticed we were looking and was kind enough to get some ribeyes from the back. We definitely will be shopping here more from the great customer service!

I love luxury grocery markets! Anytime I find one, I always shop. You name it flowers, hot bar, and other goodies. I'm never disappointed here!! YUM!

I love this store, so conveniently located near many nice stores along the Upper Fillmore. Their produce is some of the freshest, and they carry many gourmet specialty items, along with an awesome deli and salad bar. 👍

Wow, the store layout was refreshed recently, and there are so many to-go options when your inner chef is lazy or you need a jump start for your meals. They pack all the basics in and provide a bountiful array of specialty items, including an entire selection of British food and teas!

Very spacious, excellent assortment of cheese, diary, seafood, Mollie's fresh salads, Mollie's fresh bread, beverages, and other goods, carefully arranged along the racks. The prices may be a bit higher than in Trader Joe's, but you can find everything, not staying in a long queue, and still remain safe. Safety measures are followed.

As always Mollie Stone's is in order! Clean territory, fresh produce, smiling faces of employees!) Polite!!!

I love this store. The selection is wonderful, the produce is beautiful, and they have so many decadent treats just begging to go home with you. The prepared food is helpful for when you don't have a meal plan and every employee I've interacted with was helpful and kind!

Fantastic market, if a bit pricey. Rumor is that they'll drive you home within some distance if you buy groceries there. Really amazing cheese and meat selection, and frequent samples. Has a nice starbucks attached for your caffeine fix.

A civilised supermarket - small shopping carts, aisles slightly too close for comfort. Dizzying array of slightly upmarket groceries. Bizarrely wide selection of catfood - think PacHeights cat lady.

Lots of lunch grab'n'go options - plus cookies.
