Great place to eat for Somalian food! It might look like hole in a wall but they serve some good food! I went there twice in our stay in Seattle. Very good customer service. I highly recommend the rice! They make rice from goat broth don’t use water to cook rice! Lamb shank was very good also! I think lamb shank could be more tender but for me it was fine! They have family room for guests who want privacy. Rice was the best menu item! Sambosa was pretty awesome too! Made out of ground beef. Overall very good experience.

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. It was my first time eating Somali food and it was quite tasty and flavorful. Customer service was excellent. Yulis answered any questions and made great recommendations on what to try.

I really enjoyed my first time eating goat. Food was amazing and most of all the owner was very engaging in a way that brought us home away from home. I recommend this restaurant to all cultures looking for a new taste that gives fresh comforts. They also uber eat just another added element to why I give 5 stars.

Phenomenal food: excellent taste, large portions, and friendly staff make Salama an easy 5-star recommendation! I highly recommend the goat, lamb, rice, and chapati.

I recently chose to get some good food for my wife and I. Good seasoning, well cooked and they definitely give you a great portion of food. Keep up the good work brothers! 👍🏿

Absolutely one of the best possible places to eat. I was recommended the lamb, if you know lamb it is a delicate meat and one that is easily ruined by subtle mistakes. After reading previous reviews I decided to give the place a chance. They did not disappoint, I walked into the crowded restaurant and was immediately talking with the owners come to find out. They did not disappoint with either their friendly mannerisms, or the lamb, it was succulent and paired well with rice. Definitely going to come back

It was really delicious food. No ambiance at all. We were the only ones there. The TV was turned to CSPAN and they were broadcasting a Trump speech. Having said that - once we had ordered and the food was served we were thankful we had stayed. I had their goat dish. I had never had goat before and it was delicious. I really enjoyed their hot sauce as well. My wife had the chicken and it was very enjoyable. We were even served fresh Papaya juice on the house. Recommend it.

We went to this restaurant and got takeouts. My family loved the food and the price was very affordable for a high quality meals. The people were very welcoming. My husband , who is a harsh critic, agreed my rating. We also got a complementary juice,sambusa, and tea while we were waiting for our orders.
I highly recommend this place for anyone that wants to try Somali/East African cuisines.

Excellent food. Decent prices. Very polite and positive staff. Quick service and clean interior. A rare gem. I love the goat and lamb, and they have chicken, beef and fish too, but the rice is especially wonderful.

My partner and I tried this place for the first time last night, and WOW! Everything exceeded our expectations. My partner, who has eaten lamb maybe twice in his life, had the lamb dish and cleaned his plate. I had the King Fish, which is some of the most flavorful fresh salmon I've enjoyed, hands down. (They cook everything without salt, only spices. I swear it's magic.) If you're not into spicy hot, skip the green sauce. If you are, you'll love its tanginess, which complements the spices of the entree. Also, the prices are very reasonable, especially for the huge portions. Best part of this place is the guy running the restaurant (sadly didn't catch his name — I was too busy devouring my food). Super personable at just the right amount. Place could use a little decor, though, but we were told a corner room is being converted into an intimate group dining space with floor seating. Can't wait to go back!

Delicious plates! Its cozy.First time, and planning to come back again. The lady was really nice. My family and I felt very comfortable. They serve ALOT of food and we even took home. Never tried Africa food, but it was very good. I'll recommend to my friends. The only little thing is that they need some music. But still very good. our family plate.

The food was great. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, so it seems like they didn't have the oven running to make the bread, so I wasn't able to sample that. It only could have improved the meal though, we certainly have to go back!

Had dinner tonight:

2 star for beef sambosa appetizer...best ever
2 star for the lamb and rice
1 star for the waiter’s service and personality

The food was exceptional good; setting humble and can use some updating...

***the green sauce is too hot and needs a citrus lemon or white vinegar component...it is also too thick...this will normally cost you a star but the appetizer was really good...

***some of the food is served fast and some take a while.

I love the sambusas! Crispy, inexpensive, and delicious. I also really appreciate that they are open early at be 6am so I can grab something on my way to work for both breakfast and lunch, usually the only option is Starbucks.

Ate yesterday with a friend around 8:15 PM. Very warm, friendly service. Food came out fast. My friend and I ordered to lamb and goat. Both were delicious! Large portions with rice and salad. Free hot spiced tea was marvelous. We're coming back again. Check this place out!

Amazing food, large portions. We both had the goat dish and it was awesome. The cumin rice and and salad that came with it were both good foils for the goat. The whole meal was excellent! Came with endless Mango juice and Guava juice. Yum.

Great Somalian authentic food and great service. Before I went to this local restaurant I was thinking of going to a high end restaurant with the family. Googling the neighborhood I came across this place, I have never tried this cuisine and decided to give a try. It was very delicious, original and fresh. It was worth trying, very impressed.

Tasty African food, casual and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and helpful. Vegetarian is available although vegan is not. The spiced tea is a delicious treat. The menu is limited but what's on it is excellent
