Garst Mill Park

Great park w a playground, a nicely kept walking trail, pickleball and basketball courts. There are plenty of shaded and green spaces for hanging out, as well as benches and picnic tables. A beautiful space.

A small but beautiful greenway park with paved hiking trail that is flat(point to point .6 miles). Creek runs alongside the trail. Tennis/pickleball courts, picnic tables, pavilions, and an excellent playground.

Good place to walk your dog, individuals are friendly. The walking paths are clean and even. The hills aren't too challenging and there's plenty of shade and places to sit along the way.

Nice park. Fairly quiet. There were a lot of people walking their dogs on leashes. They have a paved walking path and easily accessible parking.

My favorite park to walk my dogs. I feel safe and the park is well maintained.

We thoroughly enjoyed this park. We have a rescue doggy who is still a little risky socially, we're getting there, slowly but surely! This park is perfect as there are many nooks and crannies to walk far enough away from others but close enough to train our silly doggy that not everyone and every dog is a threat. We like the creek running through the park, the trails and hilly, grassy fields.

This small park provides a scenic little break if in the cave spring area. It is Norman Rockwell quaint with children playing in the creek, folks walking their dogs, kids playing in the playground and learning to ride bikes on the g reenway...a basketball court and a not so busy tennis court. Isolated enough that occasionally you can see deer, groundhogs and bluebirds there..

This is a beautiful park. The playground is enjoyable for kids of all pages. There is a nice walking trail with beautiful trees, which attracts beautiful birds. There is a fun creek that my kids enjoyed looking for wildlife. They found 3 snakes. There are tennis courts and a basketball court as well. A beautiful sheltered picnic area with grills.

I always love coming here. So many memories of my now grown kids and me here. Such a peaceful place.

Perfect for a nice walk along the creek. Deer, birds, rabbits and ducks are always seen.

Amazing park so nice especially with all the little water holes that my kids find. We love this place.

Love this park.. I has all the elements a park could want..open spaces, play grounds, picnic, water creek running though it...and you always run into someone with a smile.!! Now go there and find out for yourselfs.!!

Garst Mill is a wonderful local park. Lots of walkers with families and pets. Beautiful pollinator garden installed and maintained by Roanoke Valley Master Naturalists. Pickle ball courts. Shelter to rent. Various local volunteer groups help to maintain this wonderful space.

It's so beautiful at the shelter with river running thru the side. Has play ground a bathroom which is A plus. went on June 1.7th for my sweep up here nm

I really enjoyed this park. I went there today to take some pictures. There are plenty of parking spaces with some off road parking as well. It's very well maintained and quite peaceful despite being so close to the neighborhood. It's definitely a nice place to take your dog walking or just go on a stroll solo. The creek that runs through the park adds to the charm.

This is a great park to visit as it has something for almost everyone including a playground, basketball court, picnic shelter, restrooms, and a nice, level walking trail. There are also newly resurfaced tennis courts that I believe have been repurposed into pickle ball courts. Dog owners will find several waste bag stations and convenient trash cans for picking up after their pets. There are also open spaces for games that require more room as well as a baseball diamond that, while unused in quite a while, can still host an informal game. Besides all the amenities this park has to offer, the scenery is also very nice and it's easy to find a peaceful spot just to relax.

I've been to this since I was in elementary school on & off. I have enjoyed seeing the changes over the years. The walkway is beautiful and you deserve to treat yourself to the tranquility. Benches are along the path & is ADA accessible. No one seemed to mind guitar playing or me practicing my alto saxophone. Of course this was day time. LOL!!! Great park for everyone. Playground, basketball 🏀 courts, softball field, picnic shelter, & more.
