Aberdeen Barn Steak House

Absolutely the best service… manager(?) came out to let me in because I was waiting outside for them to open. Asked me if I wanted a cocktail. As usual, service was impeccable, friendly. As usual, the food was delicious. Atmosphere is old school steak house which I love. All around a wonderful evening.

Food was simple, but so very good. Ribeye cooked perfect with a little char on the fat was so delicious. Service was on point. They knew when we needed something before we had a chance to ask. Very calm, romantic, old school vibe. Will definitely be back.

Nice old school steakhouse vibe. Our waiter Jim was great. Attentive and shared many great stories with us. The escargot and baked clams were very tasty. A few at our party ordered the princess cut prime rib and they were cooked perfectly. The porterhouse is a good size and very tender, and especially good with the herb butter. I had the ribeye and it was great. Nice flavor, good cut. Overall a great experience.

Okay, I know I give out a lot of 5 star credits, but My wife and I just finished a $220.00 Prime Rib Meal!! That's $110.00 for each of us!! Why you ask? Started with bread sticks and rolls and really great butter and cheese!! Had a couple of Miller lights, then we had a couple of large Shrimp Cocktails, sauce was delicious, nice and peppery, then my wife had the wedge salad with house made blue cheese dressing and I had the Caesar salad and it was delicious, then we each got the 14 to 16 oz. Prime Rib that cut like butter!! We both brought half of it home for tomorrow!! Dessert was a flowerless cake with whip cream and was great!! It's been a long time since we have eaten at Aberdeen Barn, OH and my wife had the Barn Potatoes and I had the steak fries!! Our waiter was the best, took really good care of us!! I know it's pricey but we were celebrating our anniversary and they made us feel special. I have to save up more money so we can go back this year!! Thank you Aberdeen Barn for making our anniversary special!! I've paid almost this much and the meal wasn't worth near what I paid, I figured a couple of hundred dollars because these folks give you a lot of food and it's well worth it. We'll be going back as soon as we can.

We were in town for a work function and wanted a nice dinner out. Aberdeen Barn didn’t disappoint! The decor is dated, yes, but that adds to the charm of the establishment. It was decorated for Christmas and was so beautiful!

Every item we ordered was delish! From the oysters, to the bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops, to our entrees … mine was the Mahi Mahi with mashed potatoes. So yummy!!

Our server, Harris, was so sweet! He helped me pick out a salad dressing (which ended up being what he uses .. half house/half French .. yummy!!). Will def be coming back the next time we’re in town!! Thanks, Harris, for all your hospitality!!

One of our favorite restaurants! We've been several times, and each time we always get the prime rib and baked potato for our main course. The French onion soup, creamed spinach are all delicious. Several of the servers have been there for years and years – like over 30! It's been around since 1965 and is still going strong. That says something in itself! Can't wait to go back.

Great restaurant for classic grilled steaks and menu items. It's like you stepped back 50 years in time. We shared a porterhouse steak two sides and creme brulee. Jim was our waiter. Great job Jim. He made us feel like we were having dinner in his house. Cozy place.

Wife and I had dinner. I got prime rib, she got a filet. Both were cooked perfectly and tender. The caesar salad had an olive oil base dressing instead of traditional, but it was excellent!

My husband and I enjoyed an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff is super friendly and the food was amazing. The scallops and chicken were perfect. They made us feel special on our anniversary.

Just had a wedding anniversary dinner with my wife and the food was to die for. That chocolate lava cake was worth the 1300 mile drive and if we're ever in Virginia again we're definitely stopping here again.

This survivor is truly a gem and well worth the food, dining and quality service experience!!

Wow! The food was fabulous and so was the service. We had the prime rib and it was so tender and flavorful. It is fine dining set in a unique atmosphere. Loved it!

We’re from out of town and selected Aberdeen Barn based solely on open table ratings - it was excellent! Driving up we were a bit worried - it’s not in the cute part of town, it’s by the highway between the budget chain motels and a gas station. From the outside it looks cute but dated. Once we were inside that was all forgotten. The ambiance is rustic, charming, romantic, dark. We took off one star for ambiance because it was almost too dark - our middle aged eyes struggled slightly with the menu. LOL. We started with the house special clams casino and they did not disappoint. There are lots of other apps we would have loved to try as well! My husband had the prime rib - he ordered the standard cut and it was the thickest, juiciest cut of prime rib I’ve ever seen. I can’t even imagine what the thick cut is like! I had the lamb chops and they were amazing. We finished with the chocolate lava cake - not that we had room for it but the sweet was a nice finish to a rich meal. Wine list and service were also excellent. Highly recommend!

Always liked your restaurant. Maybe the times are changing but I couldn't find the same atmosphere and the service we used to received back in the day. I hate to leave your fine establishment with a feeling of, "Not like used to be, run of the mill expensive steak house". You are good but not the best anymore. But you can be with a bit of old school training and personal attention to guest interactions.
I managed the Red Lobster up the road from 1984 to 2004. Visited your restaurant quite a lot. Also, served your service and bar staff in our restaurant almost nightly. Keep up with the great work we still love you.

Kathleen was literally the best waitress we’ve ever had! She had amazing recommendations, was super attentive (even with multiple tables of 4+ parties), and so kind. She made us laugh and the service was so quick. Not to mention, the food was absolutely delicious. We’re from Raleigh but will absolutely come here again and request Kathleen when we come back 😊

We have been coming to Aberdeen Barn for 25 years. As always the service we receive and atmosphere was top notch and that’s why we continue to give 5 stars. The reason why the food rated 3 stars was b/c the broccoli sides (3 sides) were tough to eat, entree scallops were undercooked and entree fried shrimp were over cooked. Everything else was superb! Marcus (who is an old friend of my husband’s) and his son made this visit the stellar experience we look forward to. (Inside joke but the Barn Burners were off limits to Shannon tonight as my parents were present….(lol)… And we were celebrating our daughter’s graduation tonight) Thank you Aberdeen Barn, Marcus and staff for another memorable experience. Awesome! We went for my birthday 🎂. We got scallops and prime rib. Very cheap, $75 for 2. We got a free dessert 🍨 since it was my birthday. We felt like we were on the Sopranos. Corner booth!

Came here for dinner on our anniversary. The service was excellent. Ordered escargot appetizer and was pleasantly surprised, they were delicious and I definitely recommend. The barn fries are really good and they come with fixings like a baked potato. The cream spinach is okay, probably would try a different side next time. Overall, great service and atmosphere make this restaurant worth the price.
