Boar's Head Resort

Boar's Head Resort is such a fabulous location for a wedding, the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was just perfect! We loved photographing Kate & Paul's wedding reception here, there are so many beautifully-fabulous locations all on site which made for so many great photos! We can't wait to come back and work here again soon!!

The staff is amazing. You can't ask for a better group to fulfill your needs. If I seeded answers, they were there. Of I need a lift to another building they were there. So.ething as small as needing an umbrella, it was there. Outstanding Outstanding Outstanding!!!!! Highly recommend 👌

This resort is absolutely beautiful. We came down for the weekend and did the wander lights during Christmas time. It was a little cold, but the music kept us all hopping around, and the lights were amazing! The staff were all very helpful, and the rooms and views were immaculate! Lots of activities, and food and amazing overall Christmas feels!!!

Beautiful property, very personable staff and great location. It’s very convenient. Many places are wonderful in Charlottesville for food and wine. However, lodging is another story. Not much to choose from that’s not exorbitant in price. Boar’s Head is an exception to this trend. Good value and great mattresses! The spa is also excellent great message and pedicure. I’ll go back for relaxation. This trip was tied to training for work.

This is so close to so many major cities. It's easy to get to right off the highway. I really loved the water parks design that's made for little kids. I felt comfortable with my kid in the life jacket going to all the different areas because the water levels were all pretty low. Even the wave pool felt safe in the deeper part because it only got to about 5 ft deep. The snack bar food was not too unreasonably expensive, and we ended up getting a Groupon deal so we got laser tag in bowling included. These, along with the arcade, we're a nice break from the water for the kids.

While I didn't stay in a hotel room this time, I can see the convenience of it being directly connected and will definitely get a hotel room next time. It doesn't cost much more and you get an entire day extra at the water park.

Stayed here for a weekend getaway, and enjoyed every moment. The property is beautiful even in winter and we had a gorgeous view of the Winter Wander lights from our room. Definitely recommend this resort for a wonderful experience.

A beautiful property with wonderful staff. Lots of amazing amenities for everyone to enjoy. The Christmas lights were amazing. I can’t wait to come back in the spring time so we can enjoy more of the outdoor activities.

We went for the Christmas tour of lights at Boar's Head. It was lovely, and the tour around the lake was easily traveled. There was food and drink available on the route, and we enjoyed the ice skating rink. It was a truly enjoyable evening!

Went for the Winter Walk. Grounds were beautiful and lights spectacular. Reflection off the ponds made it very festive. Firepits and food trucks were a nice touch.

Staff was super friendly and hospitable. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed our walk in the evening and morning.

The room was nice and comfortable. AC could be updated and I didn't really care for the shower head but overall it was spacious for my husband, myself and our two teens. I loved having the balcony to enjoy coffee in the morning while everyone was getting ready for the day.

We ate at the Mill room for dinner and breakfast. Both were great. Staff was nice and accommodating.

We had lunch at the birdwood bar and grill on the golf course. Service was not up to the standard of the rest of the resort. Food was ok. Scenery was beautiful but other than that it was just "eh."

The pool area was nice, clean and relaxing. We are looking forward to our next visit.

I went to the spa for a massage. It was so relaxing and nice. I will emphasize when they say show up 15-20 min early, show up EARLY! so that way you can enjoy looking at the spa, walking around, etc... I showed up right at the appt time and it seems like the masseuse rushed the massage because I was so late. I also spent 30 min there after my massage just relaxing in the rooms with the towel robe that they give you. Side note, the massage oil is oily so if you plan on having your scalp massages as part of your massage appt, your hair will be very oily afterwards, but you can wash your hair with quality shampoo/conditioner in their very nice, large showers! I also observed how knowledgeable the masseuse was, I told her about my trapezius muscle soreness and she knew exactly what to do because I left with no soreness afterwards. They have tea, water, and little snacks there. Everything was just amazing. They also have a steam room, recommend bringing a swimsuit for that because you won't be able to resist it (especially if you're person who enjoys saunas). And when you're driving to the spa, they have signs and arrows pointing you where to go, so that made it easy to find! I'd definitely come back here EARLY and get that amazing treatment again.

Highly recommend the Winter Wanderland. This wonderful event is for the entire family. Lots of beautiful lights and music. Don’t forget to enjoy their hot chocolate with marshmallows.

We had an absolutely awesome time. The staff was so accommodating and upgraded our room without us asking because it was available. The food from the mill room was amazing and the staff and cooks were top noch. Everything was clean and beautiful. I highly recommend for special events.

Stayed 2 nights for our 20th anniversary. We enjoyed every second. Winter Wonder was beautiful. The staff was awesome.

Our room was fantastic with a lake view. The staff was very hospitable and always helpful. It made for a great weekend away.

Tonie at the front desk got us started out right! She was very welcoming, thorough, and thoughtful about our one night stay. Thanks Tonie! We were so lucky to visit while the light show around the lake was in full glory and decorations were up and so festive. The weather cooperated but I love the various fire pits that families can enjoy as well a couple of large ones to gather round. Ate in the Mill Room for dinner and breakfast. We had great seats overlooking the lights for dinner and enjoyed a fine meal. Everyone was so nice and our room was spacious and very clean. Love the water and bottles - nice touch. Good job Boar's Head Resort! Was nice to visit again after all these years.

Beautiful property

What an amazing venue! We were there for the blues, brews and bbq festival. Kevin Thurman, the fella responsible for coordinating the event was the nicest and most helpful host I have ever experienced in regards to a festival style event. He was boots on the ground all day getting it done. Nick that worked in the facility management department was also incredibly helpful. What a solid crew and beautiful campus. Definitely find a reason to visit.

Spectacular place. The place is well organized. It was raining when we visited but still so nice.
