Dr. Crouch and his staff were above the standards for veterinary service. Dr. Crouch is the expert for “ACL” surgery, and gives precise post surgery instructions for a successful rehabilitation. He has made all the difference in a quality of life for Skye, my energetic Labrador Retriever.

I can’t say enough about my wonderful experience here. I have a very large dog who needed knee surgery at 3 years old. The level of care is the best I’ve seen for both people and pets (and I am a surgical tech)! Dr. Crouch is willing to spend any amount of time answering questions until you are comfortable handing over your fur baby. The staff is kind and easy to work with. I will recommend them to anyone! Thank you, Dr. Crouch and staff, for making Daisy better.

Can't say enough good things about Dr Crouch. Our Girl Sadie had TPLO surgery on her left knee back on 04/13/23 by Dr. Karlin at Tufts University in Grafton Mass which went very well as Sadie recovered from that well. Dr Karlin advised us that Sadie will definitely need the same TPLO surgery on her right knee because she had luxating patellas in both knees. Due to our Home being sold and under contract and my wife and I relocating to North Carolina we couldn't schedule the next surgery with Dr. Karlin. When we finally relocated to North Carolina Sadie started to have problems in her right knee as Dr Karlin from Tufts advised. Not knowing what to do and desperately wanting to find a good orthopedic surgeon for our girl Sadie but not knowing the area my wife Sherri did some research. Well she found Dr Crouch which is 2 and a half hour drive from where we live in North Carolina. We took Sadie to Dr Crouch and he explained everything in detail about the TPLO surgery. We scheduled the appointment for her surgery with Dr Crouch. Before Sadie's surgery with Dr Crouch I got spoke to Dr. Karlin who did Sadie's first TPLO surgery and told him about our plans and asked him if was familiar with Dr Crouch. Dr. Karlin had nothing but good things to say about Dr Crouch and also told me that he would take his own dog to him. Needless to say that made me feel real good. Dr. Crouch is very informative and explained everything about the surgery in great detail even though he knew we have been here before. I Highly recommend Dr. Crouch. You can trust that he will take care of you beloved pet. Thank You Dr Crouch.

Dr. Crouch and his team are nothing short of exceptional. They helped us in an emergency situation with our Australian shepherd puppy after she was attacked by another dog. Her leg was broken in two places and Dr. Crouch made sure he got her taken care of, even when they had no appointments available. He was extremely innovative with the repairs she needed done, and my husband and I are so happy to report that she is running and jumping, and living her life like a puppy should. She was not in any pain during her recovery that she showed and Dr. Crouch’s office made many on the spot calls to take care of her cast while she was healing. My husband and I cannot tell them thank you enough. We are forever grateful.

We were so pleased with the excellent care our senior Bischon mix dog received at Western Carolina Veterinary. He’s had luxating patella’s in both back knees his whole life, and in early November, his worse back knee really got strained going up 3 short stairs. Our regular vet told us we needed an orthopedic specialist and based on the great reviews, we came here.

We did NOT want to have to do surgery, and thankfully, Dr. Crouch agreed. I loved Dr. Crouch’s approach of a conservative treatment plan made up of injections (not into the joint, but into the skin) of joint supporting medicine, natural supplements (like fish oil and organic CBD), and focusing on flat walks for exercise (no jumping, running in circles, etc) .

Dr. Crouch clearly loves his field as he is very up to date on all treatment options, the complications that come with surgery and how to mitigate it, etc. He was very kind and spent a lot of time with us explaining things and answering our questions.

We couldn’t have had a better visit, and we’ve since implemented his recommendations with our primary vet and seen great results! Our dog is walking great, not in pain at all, and back to his normal self. Thank you Dr. Crouch and team!

Our cocker spaniel Ruby sustained an injury to her cruciate ligament.. our regular vet Dr Cassie Lord at Apple valley veterinary referred us to Dr Crouch at Western NC veterinary and highly recommended him as being the best …Ruby underwent surgery to repair her injury and recently had her staples out and is on the road to full recovery..our total experience with Dr Crouch and his team has been very positive. They are exceptional professionals who obviously care a great deal about their patients..I cannot say enough about the friendly and supportive treatment we received there…

If you are like me your vet reefed your injured pup to 2 different surgry offices and you are trying to decide who to call first. I will save y ou the trouble. This is the one you want. The other place has an automated phone system, you will leave a message and now one will ever gets back to you. Then you call this office and after a brief wait on hold a very well informed person will look at your refural, and give you a basic idea of cost and time frame. Outstanding service, and compation. and our sweet giant Otis is doing so much better. Cant thank them enough.

Explain the procedure for our Husky. To repair his leg. Very detail and show he cared for his well-being before, during, and after his surgery. Repaired and Lindow is on his way to running and being himself.

Dr. Crouch performed TPLO (ACL repair) on my beloved Molly. We had previously had double TPLO surgery on our other pup in Florida at an acclaimed veterinary hospital and didn't think we would consider another hospital or surgeon. Dr. Crouch came highly recommended and exceeded our expectations. He's thorough in his explanations, kind and highly qualified.

The office staff aren't particularly friendly or helpful but you're paying for the care of your pup and in that area they are excellent.

Highly recommend Dr. Crouch and his team. My 4 year old, 60 pound rescue had TPLO surgery for the second time with Dr. Crouch. The first was on her other knee in Michigan and being new to the area I was so nervous but he was incredibly patient with me and thorough. He is so passionate about what he does and it shows in the way he cares for and runs his clinic. I will absolutely be going back to them for any future needs if needed.

Dr. Crouch and his staff provided excellent care for my rottweiler before, during and after TPLO surgery. The procedure is giving August full range of motion and without pain, an improved disposition. At age 5, and 115 lbs., August seems to be embracing his inner puppy.

Dr. Crouch and his staff have performed three cranial cruciate surgery on two of our dogs during the past year. The first surgery turned out beautifully--you would never know that at one time, for about five months, the dog limped with one leg just dangling. He now can run, jump, and walk like nothing ever happened.

Our second dog is more complicated--Dr. Crouch repaired his right CCL about nine weeks ago so it is not yet fully healed, but it was healed well enough six weeks after his surgery that he was able to put full weight on that leg when he tore the CCL in his left rear leg. It has been only three days since Dr. Crouch operated on that leg--so the jury is still out on the latest surgery.

But what I can say is that in every one of those cases, the WCVS staff were all extremely professional; they kept us fully informed of costs, expectations, and outcomes at every step, and they were extremely personable and knowledgeable.

On two occasions they also were able to expedite getting our second dog in for surgery sooner than originally scheduled. Dr. Crouch has performed thousands of CCL surgeries. I know from outcomes of CCL surgeries performed on the dogs of our family and friends that the procedures used by WCVS have produced superior outcomes with fewer complications than the surgeries done on those dogs.

I can highly recommend WCVS to anyone who has a dog in need of orthopedic surgery.

My dog is herself again after TPLO! She was just so ridiculously happy when her leg started working again that I wish I’d filmed it. It was a cross between pure joy and a meltdown at mom for not letting her run wild at 2 weeks after surgery. It was hilarious and made me want to cry too. Poor kid was pitiful on 3 legs.

Her other knee may end up needing surgery as well and, if so, there is no place I’d rather take my girl.

After being skeptical about even having our dogs ccl surgery, we're very encouraged about the experience and results. Dr Crouch and staff couldn't have been more professional and encouraging. That being said, we hope this will be our last review.

Dr. Crouch and his staff are incredibly compassionate and utilize the most advanced medical treatments. It was recommended that we euthanize our 1 year old pup due to a leg injury and because of Dr. Crouch, there is hope for Frankie. It only takes one great vet to change the course of a pet's life and Dr. Crouch did that for us. Thank you!!

Dr. Crouch and his team is amazing. They sincerely care about the welfare of your pet. He had treated my dog successfully without surgery where three other Specialty Veterinarians only wanted to do surgery. My boy was healed without surgery following Dr Crouchs protocol. Then on vacation this week my boy was hurt and Dr Crouch rearranged his schedule to take care of my boy. Truly amazing. You won’t find a Vet like him anywhere else.

What can I say about Dr Crouch that hasn't already been said? He is an awesome surgeon and even a better person. His entire staff and facility is top tier. If there is a better place that provides care to animals, you'd have to show me and prove it, because I don't think it's possible.
Thank you all for providing Gracie with her mobility back. She is happy again.

My Bearded Collie, Merlin was only 6 months old when Dr. Crouch preformed surgery on him for bi-lateral elbow dysplasia. That surgery has allowed Merlin to live a very active, pain free life. He just turned 14 last July but still trots across the yard with no signs of a limp! So, thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr. Crouch for giving me a wonderful 14+ years with this wonderful, funny, boy!!!

The team at Western Carolina Veterinary Surgery are nothing less than Angels. The professionalism and compassion they show towards their patients and the humans that love them is truly amazing. Dr. Crouch is an absolute miracle worker. When I first walked through their door my puppy was a physical mess and I an emotional one. They sat on the floor with us and took the time to comfort us both before Dr. Crouch worked his surgical miracles.

Dr. Crouch and his team are fantastic. Our dog had to eventually have surgery on both knees and Dr. Crouch was able to answer any and all questions and concerns that we had. The after hours team was available for concerns and questions as well, even on the weekends!
