Lee's Asian Market

I love this little Asian market. So glad I found it. It is very hard to find homemade kimchi that is made just right, stored in glass jars.

Our favorite Asian grocery store in Asheville! Having lived in a few non-Asian countries, this is one of the best stocked Asian grocers! The owners are always friendly and warm, and the variety of the products rotates frequently. I was able to recreate many Asian dishes from the ingredients sourced in Lee’s.

This place is great but Google still has the old location (Lee's Asian Market). They have moved to behind the old location to the Asiana market (former restaurant). The new place is larger and has just about everything you could want for Asian cooking.

Good small local Asian shop with everything you need for the kitchen. Very nice shop keeper . They only have one register which can slow up checkout. But the shop was clean and easy to navigate.

I love this market. Mrs. Lee helps us with ingredients and recipe suggestions. I always find what I need and if I can't.......Mrs. Lee knows exactly which shelf it's on, but it's THERE. If you find handmade Vietnamese Bahn Cam (sesame balls) on the counter, get some!

They're not there every day and are SO GOOD.

There's usually a good assortment of fresh herbs and vegetables.

If you haven't tried LAOGANMA Spicy Chili Crisp condiment (Red lable with ladie's face) and the ABC sweet soy sauce...... they're handy short cuts to flavoring dishes like sticky rice (ABC sauce) and dry fried beef (Spicy Chili Crisp.) I don't always have time to make my own spicy chili sauce and the ABC sauce is handy in the fridge.

She carries Chef's Choice coconut milk, Three Crabs fish sauce, Kewpie Mayo, sweet rice, fried crushed garlic, MAESRI Curry Pastes, both Chinese Pho spice packets (Gia Vi Pho Pasteur in orange and red packaging) plus the Cot Pho Bo Beef Flavoreed Pho Soup base I use with homeade beef bone broth then top off with the frozen Pho noodels in the pink wrapping....Mrs. Lee knows where they are.

We love Thai Basil...... I think Beef Pho, lettuce wraps and basil lemonade are our favorite ways to enjoy it. I use two handfuls of basil in a blender of fresh squeezed lemonade or lemonade ice cubes made ahead... prefer it frozen but it's good over ice too. The color is as beautiful as the flavors are refreshing. *Rinse the Thai basil well..... it's so much better than traditional basil.

I have to remember the market is closed on Tuesdays so I'm not dissapointed: )

This was a pleasant surprise. We stopped at Lee's Asian Market while waiting for a table next door.

This place is small but has enough for you to prepare any typical southeast asian meals. It's clean and well organized.

Bonus find: It has the Sriracha chili sauce that's very hard to find today! 😋

This is the best Asian market in town. Went looking for hard to find items. Amazingly they had them. Staff is very helpful. I always find cool things in this store and prices are great! Check it out!

Very nice shop. Looking forward to seeing their new spot soon too.

I’m from Atlanta, reside in Murphy now. I usually shop at Super H Mart, best handmade kimchi. Your store was a little too limited for me, at first. You’re very helpful. I bought two jars of your handmade kimchi, not knowing what to expect. OMG, I will make the drive there every month. Your kimchi is the best I’ve ever had. I also have a Korean aunt, but your kimchi. O-M-G…. I should have bought more jars!!!! Amazing and do delicious!!!! I may finish both jars this weekend, no joke. I’m so glad I chose your market!!!!

Fun little Asian market with a wide selection of both fresh and dry ingredients. Highly recommend checking them out especially if you’re on the wait list to get into the Vietnamese or Thai restaurants next door.

Their kimchi is so good that I couldn't bring myself to turn it into stew. I live 4 hours away and I want to go back and get more! We went on the weekend and they had freshly cooked sesame balls which are delicious. They had every flavor of my favorite Japanese gummy candy. Wish they'd open a store in my town!

Went for the first time today - and I found everything I usually need and then some! We had been to another asian market prior to our visit, and not only did this store have a wider range of products - but they were a better deal. I spoke with the owner of this store, and she is EXTREMELY kind and helpful! Will definitely be back regularly :)

Love this place! Great selection of fresh vegetables, frozen food, candy, and dry goods. They've got the staples and the hard to find stuff. I always end up leaving with a lot more than I meant to! 😂 the folks are friendly and, shelves are stocked to the brim, and prices are great.

Not a regular shopper at Asian stores usually sushi ginger and occasionally sauces. This store has a large assortment of Asian foods as well as fresh veggies and friendly helpful staff. Prices seem affordable.

I was so impressed with this store! The owner took time to talk with me and discover what I was looking for, and found a comparable item that was perfect. I also found a couple of groceries I didn’t know I needed! Five stars for service, number of products, and personality!

My wife and I love this place. They always have what we need. Local grocery stores around here don’t carry ANY international foods. At least, not anything good. So we get all the essentials here. Great price on bulk ginger, rice (duh) and essentials like soy sauce ajimirin etc. and fantastic staff. Be sure to grab a jar of homemade kimchi.

Very nice Asian Market. Was a first time visitor. The husband and wife team running the store make a great first impression. Very friendly and helpful. You can tell they love their customers. I frequent Asian Grocery Stores and found several new items I have not seen before at other Chinese Markets. I will definitely recommend this store to others. I will recommend this store to anyone to who has never been to an Asian Market before, and will add Lee's Asian Market to my "Must Visit Again When in Asheville, NC list".

Found my childhood favorite snack. Authentic and with fillings inside. The upgraded version but not too sweet. It preserved the crispy feature of the outside layer. I did not expect to have this in Asheville NC at all. What a surprise. Must try. $0.99 per piece.

Best kimchi I've ever had! It's extremely active and alive and freshly homemade by the shop. I thought it was a little pricey at first (I'm super frugal!) but it's very much worth it. 😀
