The Greater Annapolis Y in Arnold

Joined recently and have been very happy with my Y family membership! The childcare is a huge plus so I am able to work out while my child is being safely watched. The staff throughout the facility is very friendly. I really enjoy the classes. There are multiple pools, a basketball court, rockwall and pickle ball courts. My daughter loves the waffles on Wednesday.

Outstanding experience, every time. I work with neurodiverse adults. we spent a lot of the summer at the pool. We were so warmly welcomed, by everyone. The outdoor pool staff deserve special thanks for really helping a wheelchair bound guest get safely in and out of the pool. We love this place!

I am a huge fan of the YMCA, and especially now the Greater Maryland YMCA/Arnold. The gym was always in good shape, and has a competitive price point especially for young adults. If I hadn't moved I would have stayed forever!

Took the kiddos to swim, and we ended up playing basketball, soccer, and pickleball. Lol, we also utilized the open studios to practice dance and cheer routines. Very nice facility and staff. A few vending machines helped when the kids were craving snacks. Fun day for the kids and their friends.

My home gym is Pasadena. But I've been visiting here for the classes. I'm still learning my way around, any time I ask for directions, the staff has been very helpful. I would recommend this gym for anyone who loves group exercise.

Great place!
Clean, friendly patrons and staff, well-maintained facilities. Saunas in the locker rooms, three dance rooms (which are great to stretch away from the masses), enough cardio and weight equipment, a rock wall (not for bouldering), two pools with the outdoor one they cover in the winter, and enough classes for anything youre interested in. They even adjust the hours for the summer to be open later, which is awesome.

As a single woman who goes at night, I always feel safe here. Never been "heckled" or seen any other woman be picked on for being in the free weight section (which you see a lot of other places).

I'm sad to be moving, this gym has certainly spoiled me. Thanks Y!

This gym has everything. Couldn't ask for much more out of a gym. If your super bogie maybe you'd ask for a more modern design but that would come with added casts so let's keep it the way that it is. Functional, comprehensive amenities, and low cost.

I just joined the Y online and had never even visited the place before. The pandemic had made me lazy & lethargic (I am a 68 year old woman). The parking lot was packed when I arrived around 10 am, but I realized it was a school holiday.
They got me checked in, took a picture, and gave me a key chain pass. A nice young man named Jack gave me a tour of the pool area (my main goal for today) and he offered a full tour of the place later when I was done. I joined the Water Walking group in the multipurpose pool for a while to warm up. Then I learned that the lap pool outdoors was open, and heated, so I went out and swam some laps. It was nice and the water was very comfortable, even though the air temps were cool. Overall, it was a good first impression. I look forward to exploring more classes and activities.

My 6-year-old loved coming to his swim classes with his instructor Patrick! Jenny was also amazing setting us up with a tour of the Y and getting us into a class that fit our schedule.

The Arnold location is a nice gym that offers a wide variety of classes for kids and adults. They have a large rock wall for kids to adults can use. Our primary Y is in Pasadena but we come to this location for the kids to have their rock wall time. They love it.

The staff is always very friendly and it seems more open then our Y we go to. We wish they had a better pool like the Pasadena location has but it works for those wanting to swim.

One thing I really don’t like is that there is no wifi in the women’s locker room in the basement. Since it’s in the basement, you feel like you’re going into a dungeon with no one around so if you were to slip and fall or something happened, I wouldn’t be able to call anyone for help. When I go I rarely see anyone in there so I just feel it’s a safety concern of not being able to call someone in case of emergency due to no reception and no wifi.

Went during the weekday to swim with my son we had the entire pool to ourselves! The staff is always super friendly and helpful. So happy with my membership purchase.

The summer camp staff has been fantastic! My son has gone every week as I work full time. He’s never had a rough day. They keep the kids active and engaged. I will continue to be a member for many years as my children get older

I am on a mission to get my girlish shape back by increasing my activity level. The Y in Arnold has both the classes & machines to do it. I'm a senior citizen & i still want to travel so i need to keep up my endurance & balance. The Y is the perfect place to do both. Friendly environment & tailored classes meet a seniors need. Love this gym, all the staff are super nice and the gym is always clean. Lots of programs for group exercise classes, swimming, rock climbing, etc and the equipment is spread out nicely so it never feels super crowded.

We mainly visited the pool area, but it was a very good experience for the family. The splash pad gave a little something to the little ones, and we had enough space in the big pool to work with them on their swimming. Looking at the other facilities briefly, they seemed well-maintained. The staff quickly gave us our membership cards and were very helpful!

The Y camp is awesome!! They treat my kids like their own. There are continuous improvements based on recommendations from parents. The offerings are varied and educational and keep the kids interested. My children look forward to Y camp in the summer and they refuse to go anywhere else.
The Y Arnold is our health family and happy home.
