This place is a scenic gem. The expansive beach and picturesque views of the Chesapeake Bay make it an ideal spot for a day outdoors. Well-maintained facilities and a family-friendly atmosphere create a perfect setting for picnics, swimming, and relaxation. A great escape close to Annapolis with ample recreational opportunities."

I haven’t been to this part for about 10 years decided to take my son, a future, daughter-in-law, and her sister to the park.
Spectacular place to go see some Christmas lights. They have 3-D glasses for you to give you a different perspective of going through and seeing all the different light arrangements.
Great place to take your family to see . It also gets you into the Christmas mood.
Five star rating .

I can't believe how close this is to Washington DC! This is one of the closest beaches to the city, just outside of Annapolis and before the Bay bridge. Photos are from a cold, windy, clear winter day. You can imagine a summer time day being much more crowded, and the space is designed for families, children, and a day of lounging by the beautiful water. A separate area is designated for the marina.

Nice peaceful park to watch the sunrise. $3 entry fee and the kiosk does take credit cards.
I flew my drone for a very beautiful sunrise and also captured it with my camera.
Seen multiple deer when leaving the park.

My boys went here to go crabbing and they had a good time there and they enjoyed it! They also walked into the water from the beach and that made them happy too. My middle son took this picture and he said it was a beautiful look at the bay bridge. The bathrooms we used were clean, and the picnic area where my boys are was nice and had a wonderful grill too.

Friday morning we got up and decided on a whim to head to beach, after hour and 20 minutes we arrived! Cost us $4.00 to get in the park. We could not decide where to park and get in the water finally did. Parking was a breeze, and there was plenty. The water was warm, filled with jelly fish during the season and we were warned about those upon on arrival. The sand was nice and smooth. Everyone seemed to pick up their trash and it was clean from man made debris. They have a picnic area, play ground, bathrooms, you can launch your own craft, hang on the beach, go on a hike around the park, go fishing. We hung out for 6 hours and drove back home-needless to say we will be back for before the beach season ends!!

Absolutely loved Sandy point state park! Only $5/adult, my kids and I were here for HOURS. they have food and bathrooms, tons of parking. And outdoor shows to rinse the sand off. The bathrooms were shockingly clean, expected wet floor, but no disgusting smell. My only complaint is that I haven't taken my kids here sooner

If you live in the DC area and want to spend a day at the beach with your family, I think you won't regret visiting this place. Because there was everything here: parking, restroom, tables and chairs, grilling area, showers. We went on a Friday and paid $4 per person to enter.

It is nice place to enjoy with friends and family. We went on a weekend and park entrance fee of $3 was collected per car. There is lot good spot for grill and benches were provided around it. The water is not too deep and shore is good place for kids to play! We can also fitness big cruise ships passing under the bay bridge.

Came in for an Alzheimer’s Benefit Walk so I didn’t really avail myself of the full park. but the waterfront was absolutely amazing

Cleanest beach place I visited in long time. It almost felt like private beach. The crowd is managed by not allowing people to hang around for free. I think that is the trick to keep it clean and still enjoyable to people. The water was clean and best of all no algae unlike at Atlantic city NJ. Best kept secret for people like to enjoy their time at sea and chill with budies or family.

Great calm, local spot for the kids. Just watch out for jellyfish and if they find you 1st -- be sure to have vinegar on hand to soothe the sting. Other than that, it's an easy daytrip complete with no-nonsense concession stand, umbrellas for rent ($25), outdoor showers, clean indoor restroom & changing area along with a nice playground for small children.

Very pleased: we got out of the normal routine and tried something new. The beach was clean from trash. Had a few more rocks and shells to watch out for but a good set of sandals are recommended. 15 feet from the water edge then I was waist deep (40") water temp 79°
Overall a great afternoon away from Northern Virginia.

The parking lot is too big, the beach is also too wide, good view, the bridge, the cruise ships, the cargo ships, it relaxes you to see them go by. plus i like fishing and there is also a great place designed specifically for fishing.. for fishing it is open 24/7.. definitely Sandy Point is the perfect place to spend a very active day…

A lovely beach and play area for kids and adults of all ages. Our family enjoys all the activities and playgrounds onsite. The restroom and bathroom areas are kept neat and clean as well.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! The beach is stunning! This red sand, made me feel like part of a picture. The place is pet friendly and offers bags to pick up your dog's stuff.
The place has a large picnic area filled with places to do barbecue on warm days or maybe some s’more on cool evenings.
I pay 3 dollars to enter and definitely worth it.

Beautiful boat ramp. Unfortunately, there is not a separate entrance for boats or season pass holders, and if the park gets full, you can not get in to use the ramp.

Nice beach with restrooms and the trails had no labels. Sandy Point was clean and well kept, and makes for a great day trip! My children really enjoyed this state park.
