Village Tavern

We decided to go here for dinner because we could walk from our hotel & get 10% off our food. I ordered BLT with ham & chicken, my hubby ordered pepperoni pizza. Both were delicious. Service was OK as our waiter also had a big party across from us so I did have to look for him when needed. Their onion soup is the best I ever tasted. Not too salty & just the right amount of cheese!

First time coming here. Ruby, our server, was AMAZING, FRIENDLY, KNOWLEDGEABLE and ATTENTIVE! I ordered the caesar salad and added chicken. It was delicious! My friend ordered a side salad and french onion soup. I tried the soup and it was really good! We ordered the chocolate torte cake with ice cream and ganache. It was chocolate heaven! Daniel, the manager stopped by the table. He was very friendly and helpful. We had a nice chat with him! We will definitely be back!

First of all, can I please get some help with a standing novation from the congregation!!!! I have never come in here before drove past multiple times and always wondered how the food was. Well, last night I did, and I'm lying. Lord, strike me down. The food was BREATH TAKING. I ordered the North Carolina trout, never have I had trout before, and this place right here makes me want it all the time. It was so good, so tender, so flavorful. My server was the absolute best, too. This place is now on my favorites list. I will probably be in there tonight again because I can't stop thinking about it.

Waited a while to go to this place, but was consistently recommended to go there! Our served Leslie was one of our top highlights of our visit, greeting us with a beautiful smile, she was so helpful and personable. She made some excellent suggestions for us about some menu items as well as the daily drink deal that they had going on. All staff should be like Leslie!

Onto the food and drinks, my fiance and I indulged in some dirty martinis with bleu cheese stuffed olives (yum!) and these were made perfectly. We always like to have them lightly dirty, if you know what I mean.

The food left us with happy bellies and plentiful sized portions really helped us get a bang for our buck. Some of the appetizers that we were blessed with were the Hot Crab Dip (10/10 recommend that), which I was practically able to spoon feed myself, Flash-Fried Calamari, also delicious and the squid was at a desired consistency, and lastly we were offered a special appetizer. This appetizer was tempura cauliflower with a kung pao like glaze. Leslie suggested we try this because they were out of the last appetizer we wanted, which were the thai chicken skewers. She was super rad for that!

For our entree's we had two different salads, I had the Thai Chicken Salad and he had the Grilled Chicken Spinach salad. All ingredients in the salads were fresh and had us feeling satisfied and a little better about ourselves after all of the flavorful appetizers that we devoured.

The inside of the place was truly like a tavern and the lighting was lovely as well, at our dining table we had a little personal light above the table, which I believe made our date night a little more romantic.

Would definitely return here!

Here right now and we've been a number of times in the past. Hands down, best calamari I've ever had. Their crab dip is phenomenal as well. Their carrot cake is also delicious. Haven't had anything not good. Their service is always top notch and their food is always of the highest quality. Highly recommend for anyone.

Great location with delightful service. Food quality is top notch, and their ability to accommodate food allergies is respectful. Sophisticated drink menu without being chichi. If you are not happy here, you might need to look in the mirror.

Kevin was the best server I’ve had in a long time. He reads the energy of the guests at his tables very well to match what kind of experience they’re looking for. Food and drinks were great as well. Pictured below are crab dip (“market price” was like $16 so not too bad), fish and chips, and the chicken penne with the basil cream sauce. Highly recommend and glad to hear they have a location to visit in Charlotte as well!

This is one of the most popular restaurants in Winston. It is our Go To when we don’t know what to eat. The parking lot is always full. It is worth trying even with takeouts.

Had dinner last night on our way to some business about an hour south of here. Was thoroughly satisfied with my meal and the service was top-notch. We did have to wait 45 minutes but we were told it would be 45 minutes and that’s as long as it took, not a minute more. We are back here again tonight and I hope that I will be able to sample their prime rib. It looked absolutely incredible last night, but they were sold out by the time we got in, although it was very late and completely excusable. The beet salad was absolutely phenomenal, at least in the top three salads I have ever eaten in any restaurant anywhere in my life.

Here we are a year later, and stopped in the village Tavern on our way to a business trip and had another fantastic dinner. The prime rib is absolutely out of control smoked and slow roasted for 24 hours. I seriously do think it’s the best prime rib I’ve ever had anywhere and I’ve eaten it 500+ times over the years. Lizze was our server and she did an awesome job, everything was there within 2 minutes of asking. I wish EVERY dining experience was as good as the Village Tavern in Winston. It’s now my favorite restaurant in the US.

I had the Colorado Chicken and it was delicious. Perfectly seasoned. Huge portion. Nice presentation on the plate. Our server, Wendy was great. Wendy was very accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant was welcoming. The complementary bread was warm, light and fresh.

Seeing your son, a man of whom you burst with pride makes anything great. That aside this place just plain gets it. Three items we had were spot on tonight. The one off, a pimento dip with veggies (wife appetizer) was a bit lazy. Our server Bree was fantastic. What we had in pictures below. Get here, worth the money, there is a line at the door for a reason.

I have returned to this restaurant multiple times over the past several years. I look forward to dining here, as we do not live in NC. I am always impressed by the kindness of the wait staff, the efficiency of the kitchen, and the extremely high quality of the dishes

The Crab Dip is addictive! The Prime Rib (medium rare) is amazingly fork tender and well seasoned. My wife loved her Pimento cheese BLT, and the desserts were both insanely good (Key lime pie was second only to actually eating in Key West)

I can't wait to be able to come back!

Had an amazing lunch with the Hubby today. We had one of the sweetest servers we've ever had while dining out, Angela B. What a gem. Very attentive. The meal was almost perfect. The calamari---AMAZING!! My Hubby enjoyed his soup and salad combo, I ordered something I didn't to much enjoy, but it's all good, cause it was taken off and I order a bunch of sides cause I like sides and the Mashed potatoes were perfect and the Asparagus was so fresh and still tasted like veggies. I appreciated the manager coming over to speak to us as well. Will definitely come back soon. And thanks again to Angela. Also, cocktails were great, so shout-out to the bartender!

Absolutely amazing food, some of the best in Winston. I’ve gotten the chicken Alfredo, the fish and chips, the meatloaf, and it’s all been truly tasty. The service can be a bit slow but due to the udder amount of people at the restaurant it’s understandable and reasonable. If you don’t mind paying a little bit more than the regular restaurant for some truly amazing food, this is the place for you.

A great place to go and visit with friends. I got the salmon,with the green beans,and garlic mashed potatoes. My family member was in town so I got to see him.

A truly enjoyable experience... The food is very tasty and unique in a good way... The overall vibe of the dining room is well balanced and fun...our server "Bella" was not only efficient, informative and prompt...but she was fun... I enjoyed the meatloaf and it was over the top good... I highly recommend and hope you get to enjoy the same experience as we have...

One of my favorite places to eat since I was little! The crab dip appetizer is a MUST! Hands down the absolute best I’ve ever had! My daughter & I split the salmon and they brought us out food already split on two plates, (pictured one) was plenty and was very satisfied with portions sizes we were given! Very nice atmosphere & always clean & top notch service.

Definitely the better of the two locations only because they have more variety on the menu. Great tasting food and refreshing cocktails. Loved the atmosphere and the service. Will definitely return.

Came here for our last day in Winston-Salem and I'm glad we did because the chicken and waffles were the best I've had yet. Staff were extremely friendly and my mimosa was great too. Even outside seating is comfortable during the winter because it is heated. If you are in the area, definitely try the brunch.
