Compassionate, intelligent vets. They have always had the right diagnosis for our dog over the years and thorough to explain whats going on with her- most importantly quick to fix our pup up! Love these folks.

I recently found myself in a scary situation when my beloved old Basenji, experienced a sudden seizure. I frantically rushed her over, I didn't call, I didn't have an appointment and as I carried her in she started having another frightening seizure. The team was incredible. They handled our disruption with so much compassion and professionalism. Dr. Young even called to check in on her the next day. I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone in search of compassionate veterinary care.

Great clinic! Always clean, reception staff is very friendly and helpful, and techs are nice and gentle with my pets. Dr. Young did thorough exams on both my dog and cat and handled them both with ease and minimal stress. Prices are competitive and fair for the value of services. I’ve recommend multiple pet parents to this location and will continue to do so.

Amy and I have taken our dogs here for years. Dr Young, Dr Farmer and their staff have been fantastic! Our dogs have enjoyed their visits here as everyone in the building loves on them like they’re theirs. We highly encourage anyone looking for a caring group to watch after their furry family to give them a try. You will not be disappointed!

We have experience with all of the vets at this office, and every single one has been remarkable. Dr. Farmer and Dr. Young worked with our Doxie (Frank) when he had a devastating back injury, and because of them he is nearly fully recovered. Recently, Dr. Ross cared for our senior Chiweenie (Pickles) through a heart problem that ultimately ended his life. Dr. Ross and the entire staff always treated us so kindly and were so positive when we visited (which was nearly weekly by the end). Unfortunately our little guy passed on a day that WNC wasn't open for appointments, but they sent us a sympathy card in the mail that was hand signed by every person there. To say that we are thankful is an understatement. I would recommend this office to anyone who is looking for incredible care for their pets.

This veterinary hospital is amazing! I can't express enough heart felt words for the staff. Very friendly, caring people, and the Doctors are so awesome! I highly recommend! Wouldn't take my baby any other place. Thank you to every single one of you, from the bottom of our hearts. Niko and I, appreciate you all! You all are a blessing!

I have been taking my beloved animals here for over a decade, each and every staff member and veterinarian has had more compassion, empathy, kindness, understanding, and sheer authentic LOVE for not only our furry family members but for us as we have been through difficult times. They are part of our family and this is no exaggeration. I love them. ❤

In 2021 they saved my baby’s life. I look back at her puppy pictures and I’m so grateful. Thank you for caring about my little baby girl.

Great staff along with an exceptional level of care. We, including MacKenzie, could not be happier with this veterinarian team. It’s obvious that they place the health and wellbeing of your pet as their top priority.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff at the WNC Veterinary Hospital. Our 12 year old labradoodle has been a "frequent flyer" for the past year or so. Every single staff member is amazing! The veterinarians, technicians, and office staff are so kind, knowledgeable, and work so hard! Last weekend we had to put our beloved doodle to sleep. It was heart wrenching but I'm so thankful we made it to this office. These professionals are the best! They made this very difficult day a little easier just by being there, being kind, and helping us through "the transition". I'm so thankful for all of you!

Dr. Farmer is awesome. Very sweet & kind. Staff is always very friendly. Very busy at times but have been able to take in my Shepherds on a short notice when they can squeeze him in between other patients with a drop off & pick up. I find their pricing too be very reasonable. I've had Shepherds almost non stop for 18yrs between 3 Males & 2 Females. WNC saw my last Male a couple times before he unfortunately passed away 3-26-22 & have seen my new adopted Shepherd from the Buncombe Shelter 3 or 4 times already. All those recent visits were with Dr. Farmer & she's beyond excellent with my Shepherd & always tells me how sweet he is even though I know how anxious he can be at times. 😅

Update 10/8/19:
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Dr. Farmer and the entire team at WNC Veterinary Hospital!! My Bella girl finally had her surgery to remove an epulis from her mouth and it could not have gone better. Dr. Farmer called me every step of the way during Bella’s pre-surgery tests and right after surgery was over. She was very patient with me and answered all my questions with such compassion. When I went to pick her up, the team told me how great Bella was and walked me through her care, answering all my additional questions. Bella is now a few weeks post op and is doing fantastic! She has more energy, her mouth is almost fully healed, and she is her old self again. Thank you thank you to everyone, especially Dr. Farmer and Dr. Young for taking such amazing care of my boxer pup. I could not recommend this vet hospital enough!

Original review:
There are not enough words in the English vocabulary to fully illustrate how great this vet hospital is! I moved to Asheville from Los Angeles and was in desperate need of a new vet for my boxer pup Bella. After reading all the positive reviews about WNC Veterinary Hospital, I decided this was the place to go. Not only are they extremely thorough with their examinations, but they are so compassionate and caring about the animals (and the people) that come through their doors.

My Bella went in to have an epulis removed from her gums, and thanks to the thoroughness of Dr. Young, we discovered that my baby had an irregular heartbeat - something that none of her previous vets noticed. If he had not gone the extra mile and found this irregularity, my Bella may not have survived being put under anesthesia. He, and the entire team in the office, were extremely considerate and called me every step of the way during Bella's appointment. Now she is on new heart medication and is still as happy and wiggly as ever. Thank you WNC Veterinary Hospital - how well you treat your furry patients means the world to me.

Unfortunately we visited for a sad reason. The end of life for our fur baby. Everyone was wonderful from getting us an appointment to bring understanding, kind and supportive throughout the process. They won our loyalty for all of our future family members. ❤🐾

I can’t say enough good things. I brought my cat in today who is not so easy to deal with a bit aggressive. The staff was welcoming from the very beginning including the receptionists. Dr. Young and his assistant were so kind and patient with my baby, and treated him as if he were there own. I would recommend WNC VET to everyone I know, thank you guys so so so very much ❤

Very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable doctor, assistants, and staff. Dr. Young is the best and understanding vet I have ever come across. I had a nightmare experience with 4 vets in Asheville with my previous cat, Code. Dr. Young is such a wonderful veterinarian. He is so gentle with the pets and explains everything in detail. He is so friendly and seems to be a wonderful person. His assistants are the same way. His staff are always friendly and helpful. We take all 3 of our pets to him for their annual visits and have been for the past few years. I highly recommend this veterinary!!!
