T.L.'s Family Restaurant

We had breakfast in a bowl and coffee, and it was just the perfect size for a hearty breakfast which doesn’t leave you feeling heavy afterwards.
What we liked the most was the service: traditional feel, the staff knows exactly what they’re doing and they’re so professional and kind. Even the youngest server, a very young boy, knew how to treat customers like a pro, we were very impressed with him.
It was also great to hear local fishermen chatting while having breakfast, local color at its best.

They were very busy when we stopped and it was hard to find seating at first. However! They clean the tables very quickly after people leave, so we didn't have to wait long at all. Our server was very friendly and the food came out quickly. We both got the breakfast in a bowl. Everything was delicious. Would definitely return. :)

Great spot to stop for lunch. We enjoyed it so much we came back again before we went back home. Seemed like a locals joint but they were kind and welcoming to vacationers as well! PS- Get the banana pudding, it’s the best we’ve found in the OBX and we tried a few.

The place was very homey and quiet and I immediately felt welcomed. Food and drinks came very fast and they were gone really fast the food was overly good! Very underrated restaurant will be coming back!

Loved it! Was sent here by a local. We pulled in and saw all local tags and we said this is a good place. The food was great, especially the country fried chicken. Had the same dish at Darrel's, while their's was good, T. L.'s was excellent. Our waitress was awesome and very friendly. The price was really good for the portions. Actually had quite a few leftovers. I have to say, the corn nuggets had to be one of the best sides on the menu. Had a great time here. Definitely will be back!

Generous portions of homemade food, local fresh caught fish.
The carrot cake was homemade and worth every calorie. Our waiter was attentive and polite and on his way to Paris Island soon. What a great spot hidden in plain sight!

I had lunch at TL's. You can seat yourself. They have long and short tables to accommodate your party. I ordered the fried chicken meal. Their fried chicken is made to order so it took some time to cook (they do tell you that ahead of time), which I didn't mind since I wasn't on a timelimit. The food was good. The waitstaff was nice.

Best "greasy spoon" in the area. We tried this by chance and it was so good. Quick service and exactly what we needed.

they serve the most delicious hushpuppies at the beginning. the cook came out and talked to us and told us about the BBQ. the environment was very local and friendly. our waitress was very sweet and explained to us how the food is very locally sourced and fresh. boy was she right. I have never had such juicy and tender shrimp! she also told us how they have 2 local ladies who bake the deserts for the restaurant daily. we'll have to try the deserts next time because we are definitely going back!

I love the "sit yourself" atmosphere, the menu is fairly big for what appears at first sight as a "small town" diner. They offer hush puppies as an appetizer, and our actual meals were delicious! I got the cheeseburger and my partner got the BBQ sandwich w/coleslaw. We were both impressed with how good the food was for how quickly it came out! My burger was "supposed" to be a 1/2lb, but it was DEFINITELY way more than that as evidenced by the picture. If we're ever back in the area, we will definitely be returning 😊

Rarely do you go to a restaurant with specific dietary needs and have the chef NAIL THE ORDER PERFECTLY......Jose, the chef, did just that. The omelette was perfect. Bacon fresh and not overcooked......All the waitstaff was cheerful and it felt like home there. The owner even stopped in and added his wonderful smile and sense of humor to the morning......HIGHLY Reccomend this place.....Honesty abounds here.....the bathroom was also very clean.

We stopped here for breakfast while on a road trip. Food was absolutely delicious! Servings were so big we couldn't even finish our plates, and the prices are super reasonable. Service was fast and friendly.

We love a restaurant that serves breakfast all day. This is a great place to eat, and great service.. my Veggie Omelet was yummy 😋

We were on our way to the Lost Colony and looking for something to eat and saw the full parking lot. That was the first good sign to stop in. Walking in we were greeted promptly and politely and sat down and ordered. Our food came out and looked great and tasted just as great. Two thumbs up!
