Captain Johnny's Dolphin Watch

What an amazing dolphin watch boat ride. We spent a few minutes looking for dolphins, and eventually we struck gold. The dolphins were by us and were so playful for a long time. Our guides were very informative and fun. They made this dolphin watch very memorable.

This tour!!!!! Spectacular! Great Captain. He was so funny and knowledgeable....I cannot believe how many dolphins we saw!!! It was hands down, best dolphin tour I've been on!! I suggest you go! It's completely amazing. Jamie stopped the boat and really let us take in that glorious sunset!!!! I HIGHLY recommend this! Best dolphin experience EVER!!

Our family of 4 with a 6 and 9 year old loved this tour. Price was right and we got to the dolphins! Maybe a bit over the top on pushing the snickers and tales of the alligators...but it was amusing. Our group did the sunset tour and really enjoyed the trip back though the marshes. That was something that was a surprise bonus. Beware that if you are anywhere in the front of the boat you will likely get a bit wet. If you don't want that just work your way to the back or inside of the boat. It really was a good trip though and after we stopped at one of the local eateries and made an evening of it. Most people were cleared out of the town by then so was very quiet and relaxing.

I’ve visited OBX every other year since 2017 with friends and we have taken this dolphin tour each time I’ve been here! We’ve found dolphins each time although it took us a little while to find them this time. The dolphins did not disappoint! They seemed much more playful and we even saw them jumping out of the water! Captain Jamie and crew were informative, professional and funny! Hope to see them again in 2025!

It was a relatively smooth ride and very enjoyable. I like how the Captain gave some history about locations we were passing but it was not overwhelming with information. It was so fun to see the dolphins come up and swim near the boat! Go try it out if you’re in the area!

Our Captain was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information on the dolphins and history of the area. We were only out for a few minutes when we spotted dolphins.

After watching the dolphins play for a while, our Captain took us out further and we rode around the marshes - that was quite a site!

The boat was well maintained and in good shape.

I would do the dolphins tour again. I understand the owners also operate a shrimping boat. Based on my experience with the dolphin tour, I would certainly try the shrimp boat next time.

It was an amazing experience! Jamie and his dad were a great tag team. The dolphins showed off! The tour around the area was interesting. Snacks on board were very reasonably priced. A must do if you are in the outer banks!

AMAZING time. Enjoyed the knowledge dropped on us while we looked for the dolphins. Once we found the dolphins, we cruised along with then for a while...then the captain got them to play in the wake of the boat!

We had a great time. The boat was comfortable and the staff was friendly. We saw a ton of dolphins. They were all around the boat and seemed to enjoy playing around us.

This was exactly what my soul needed! The captian was funny and informative. It was a beautiful boat ride to and from the dolphins. (Yes, you will get wet on the front on the way out, but you will dry off on the way back.) So many dolphins all the way around us! The most perfect picturesque sunset! Awesome!!!

Absolutely loved our dolphin tour and the family! Huge bonus - wheelchair accessible! The ramp getting on is a little steep but nothing they can help. Saw tons of dolphins and got a lot of time on the water. Fun for all ages! Drinks and snacks available on board. Cute gift shop too!

Risky Business was a GREAT EXPERIENCE for all of us! We went with our daughter and her 3 daughters-14,13 & 9. We learned sooo much about the shrimping and crabbing ‘world’!
Captain Wesley and mate Noah were terrific! We brought home 30ish lbs of shrimp and could’ve gotten more but can’t consume or freeze more than that right now! Highly recommend!

Captain Johnny's dolphin tour is a great experience for young and old. Captain Johnny is very knowledgeable and tells great stories as you look at the beautiful scenery. We did find dolphins and they actually jumped out of the water for us. It was a day to remember. Boat is well kept and very clean. Prices are reasonable for tours and great for any time of the year.

Everything was fantastic! Captain was great- kids had fun, and we saw about 20+ dolphins! Parents: This may not be fun for little kids (5 years old or younger). I’d bring something to entertain them as it is about two hour long!

Absolutely loved our dolphin watch. We were on the water for 2 hours where we did see quite a few dolphins. The captain was very knowledgeable and told some good stories while on our trip. Got some great photos and would definitely do the dolphin tour again next year.

Highly recommend you go with Captain Johnny's for your Dilphin tour. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. With in 15 minutes we saw Pods of Dolphins. He took us through the fishing and boating building areas and back through the marsh . You won't be disappointed with this team .

It was a wonderful experience for our group. The captain was full of information and we saw more dolphins than I have ever seen on any excursions I have ever been on. We even saw the dolphins "wrestling" which had us all laughing. The boat ride was nice and smooth. Great experience overall!! 🌊🐬😁
