Ortega'z Southwestern Grill and Wine Bar

Holden was our server, bar tender and food tour guide. We were beyond happy with the presentation of the food. The special was a giant tuna steak over rice. Make sure to grab a “perfect Margarita”.

We were in town for a concert at Roanoke Island Festival Amphitheater. We stopped here to eat before our concert. Love the outside seating at the front of the building. What a cool vibe. We ate inside, which had a fun, funky vibe as well. Our first encounter with our server was a bit off putting. He introduced himself, we hesitated for a moment on our drink orders and he seemed distracted. Then said he would be back in a minute without taking our order. We started to second guess our decision to eat here. But the rest of the evening things went great. All our drinks were very tasty. The food was delicious. We all ordered different dishes and tried bites of them all. Very impressed with all the dishes we had. The stuffed mushroom app and onion rings were amazing. So glad I ordered the onion rings as a side with my salad. Definitely a must try. The server made great suggestions throughout the meal. At the end of our meal my husband decided we should take a shot before we left. Our server recommended a tequila shot with a house made chaser. I don't love the taste of liquor so I didn't love it, but it was a huge hit with the rest of the group. Highly recommend this restaurant if your are in the area. The atmosphere is a great representation of the local area and serves amazing, fun and unusual dishes utilizing fresh catch/local fare. Mid level price and fun and trendy decor.

We came in the middle of the afternoon so there was no wait. We were suggested to order queso with chips and salsa by another business so we decided to stop by and have a meal. We ordered the Guy's fish tacos, queso with chips and salsa and an order of the elote. The chips were fresh and the salsa had a nice flavor but queso was bland and we were a bit disappointed. The fish tacos were really yummy my husband doesn't like lettuce so we got that on the side. The corn was a new experience for us. It tasted good but the amount of mayo on it was a bit too much for me I think it's supposed to be that way but it's something I wouldn't get again. The service was great and the restaurant was clean.

Ortega’s will wake up your taste buds! The serving size is perfect I am not a bean & rice person but this was fantastic. The tocos Those are not ordinary.
It is a must to get their made in house chips! I was excited to see the queso, The Guacamole, oh my, was my favorite.
The fajitas were exactly what was needed after a road trip!

Good service and food. Whitney was an attentive host. Unsure what qualifies this as a wine bar but there was a decent selection of drinks.l, in general. What was an amazing selection, the hot sauce. Holy cow! Our food was served very quickly and the fresh chips for the nachos made my day. Happy with our meal and service. But don’t come here solely for the wine bar. Come here solely for the homemade tortillas chips!

This place is fantastic!! The food is wonderful, I loved the fish Tacos and Won ton appetizer!! Our Bartender Holden was very friendly and he mixes a mean drink!! So good!!

Great Mexican Resturant. We to Manteo specifically to try Ortegaz. We had a party of 8. We got there at noon, we're seated immediately. We had a variety of menu items, the Thai Chilli Tacos, The Carnea Asida Tacos, a Mexican Meatloaf, A Mexican Hamburger, and a Smoked chicken Chimichanga, and a cheese Quesadilla. The food was great and came out quickly. I'm glad I finally got to try Ortega'z!

Stopped in for dinner. Had a GREAT server and some very tasty tacos. My wife had the fish tacos and I had the Thai tacos. Really good stuff!! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are around Manteo, NC.

Grab a table outside, grab a house made margherita and order some chips and a dip or two and then some tacos. This place is fantastic. Fantastic staff who knows what's what in their margheritas and then sit back and take it all in. Homemade chips where amazing and the tacos. The tacos were fantastic and can't wait to try another dish next time I'm down here.

Food was excellent, friendly staff, nice vibe. The bartender suggested I get the Hatteras Red on tap....now I'm trying to find where to buy it here! Really great spot.

So this is my fourth time back! Usually order the fish tacos! Came back after a really bad experience at Lost Colony. Love it here! Amazing place had the Tacos last night but decided to order something different! The Crab Baked Mac N' Cheese! Amazing! Now I will order dessert! Amazing as always!

Best meal in our three weeks of traveling in the Southeast US! The Veggie Fajitas came with tasty Pico de Gallo, black beans and rice; we added Guacamole and salsa to complement the perfectly grilled veggies. Guacamole was chunky and colorful as I like it. Donna and I shared the dish and were both fully satisfied. David's service was sophisticated and attentive and the ambiance was original and delightful. The only concern was a lack of Dr. Pepper on the menu, so if you're like me, bring your own. This is a "must go again" place for us!

When we got to the restaurant we were seated immediately. As soon as we sat down, we were greeted by our server Joe. He was amazing. Our food arrived very quickly, and tasted great. We will definitely be going back again.

Your employee Jo made this experience absolutely wonderful and you are extremely lucky to have such a great person workinv there! The chefs were incredible as well, the food was delicious and we will 100% be coming back any time we are in town. This place was recommended to us by the staff and crew of the OBX Is For Lovers music festival and we couldn't be happier with our decision to dine in.

The fish tacos were delicious 😋 plus the tequilas were all natural. We love Ortega's!
