What a great, rustic restaurant! The hamburger was really good and had a very tasty bun. They also have home made root beer which was really good. The beer came in 8 oz or 10oz, which seemed small, but it might be because Idaho springs is over 7,500 feet and alcohol is more potent at higher elevations. Overall, it's a good restaurant in a very historic part of town.

The waitress was super sweet and helpful. Huge portions of appetizers! We got the nachos which was a lot for two people. The toasted corn was yummy. The mushroom truffle pizza was good too. Vegetarian options available.
Lots of indoor and outdoor seating available along with street parking.

A great place to grab quality food, a good beer, and amazing service. We came here for dinner and ordered the pretzel, fish and chips, the tuna, and flour less chocolate cake and ale-caramel ice cream. The pretzel was tasty. It came with spicy mustard and and ale cheese sauce. The fish and chips are some of the best we've ever had. The fish was flaky, crunchy, and tasty. The tuna was well cooked, seared and raw in the middle with a spicy sauce, and a crisp salad. The chocolate cakes were ok, a little to rich. However, they bakance out well with the ice cream. Definitely stop here if you're in Idaho Spring or traveling through and looking for an great meal.

We stopped here on our travels from Denver to the Western Slope of Colorado. The seasonal Jack Whacker Wheat Beer has been my favorite for years, and it did not disappoint! The Mac and Cheese made with Brie, Gruyère, and Cheddar cheeses was so creamy and flavorful. I ordered it with burnt ends, and it was delicious! We couldn’t decide between Smothered Green Chili Fries or Garlic Parmesan Truffle Fries, so we got both, and they were both tasty. We also recommend the Mountain Melt Sandwich! Metered parking is available along the block and behind the building.

Really pleasantly surprised by this place. Happy hour menu (duck & corn wontons especially) were absolutely delicious. Beers and food otherwise was great. Had an awesome time here.

In a very historic building and town, Tommyknockers is a must when visiting Idaho Springs. They have an extensive house-made beer collection that is outstanding. The interior is relaxing and the service was attentive and kind. Thanks for the experience!

Fantastic beer selection to go with a solid menu lineup, Everyone in your group should be able to find something that they'll like, lots of unique choices and interesting options available. Recommend you get a flight of beer and pick what you like from the offering, so many incredible choices, I am glad we took the time to stop and eat!

Hey! I really enjoyed this place. We came in on a Friday evening and met up with some friends. The wife and I both ordered the Motherlode IPA which supposedly is supposed to be a top IPA in the US? Not sure of the validity of that claim... Well I really liked it anyway, and I'm thinking about buying a few cans if I can find it in their fridge area. At first the waitress brought out the wrong beer, a sour one. It's not for me, but our friend tells me she liked it.

For food, my wife got the fish tacos which comes on a flour tortilla with slaw, fried white fish, and a creamy sauce. I got the 7 dollar bowl of "award winning" red chili. I can truthfully say it was pretty delectable, though pretty spicy so proceed with caution. It had some brisket or pulled pork in there along with an assortment of beans (magical fruit). I also got a basket of onion rings, which were great and exactly what I look for in rings.

3 beers, fish tacos, chili, and rings ran us 69 dollars when you include tip. I suppose that's to be expected in a tourist trap. Overall I'd recommend the experience to anyone passing through Idaho Springs.

This is a really fun place. We had a great server, and the food was really enjoyable.

We really enjoyed the fish tacos.

The Buffalo based red chili was really good and not too spicy.

They were so sweet and welcoming to my pup!! Plus the beer was excellent. Didn’t totally love the vegetarian entree I got, but will definitely be returning to this place.

Delicious lobster mac and cheese, truffle fries, and a nice beer selection supported by great service from the staff. Beers to go in the fridge or get crawlers and growlers of the beer on tap. Highly recommend it!

Tommyknocker is our must stop when passing by Idaho Springs. We love their Tundra Berry and Jackwacker Wheat beers the most, but others are really good too.

As for food, this time we got their chili cheese fries. Our waitress was awesome and allowed us to sub sweet potato fries for the regular fries and allowed us to have half green chili and half red chili. The portion was huge and the flavors were really good. Oh, the red chili has cinnamon in it too. I liked it, but felt it could have had a little less because it was a little overpowering. The green chili was amazing though!

There is some renovation happening currently which was noisy and loud, but there isn’t much one can do about that. Had we realized it initially, we would have asked to sit in their outdoor seating area.

Other than that, it was another awesome visit to one of our favorite CO breweries!

This was my first visit. The atmosphere was fun and inviting. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. Ordered a Moscow Mule with orange vodka, a draft root beer, and the Fish & Chips. Everything was prepared perfectly and tasted amazing. Good portions. Our waitress, Tara, was a little closed off, but still polite and attentive. I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend.

Great atmosphere with a rustic feel and warmth. The food was full of flavor and presented tastefully on each plate. The beer will stand out to you because of its taste and smoothness. The waiters are very efficient. Highly recommend.

After hiking in the mountains we decided to grab some food and drinks in Idaho Springs at Tommyknockers. I had Brisket Sammy and my husband got the Grilled Salmon sandwich. The food was delicious! I will definitely come back to try other dishes.

Great beer, food & service. I came in with a group of seven and our server was polite and efficient. There’s a large beer selection, and the flights come on funky carrying trays. The food is flavorful and filling with large portion sizes. Pictured here are the green chili Mac and cheese (melt in your mouth has been taken to a whole new level) and the jalapeño popper burger with a grilled chicken substitute and truffle fries. There are entirely too many menu items that I’m still thinking about wanting to try so I can’t wait to come back!

Tasty beers and nice ambiance. We stopped by on a warm afternoon and it was a great spot to chill. The maple nut brown ale is the highlight but everything we tried was worth it (the chile lager isn't for everyone, but if spicy beer is your thing, it's one of the best I've ever tried). Beautiful surrounding area as well!
