Thai Wat Restaurant

Thaiwat had an online special on curry this week so I decided to give it a try...

I ordered the traditional green curry in coconut milk with bamboo shoots, green bean, red pepper and fresh basil with tofu and steam noodles - spicy level 5.

The taste of the food was excellent and the portion was fair for the pricing. The flavor was complex but fully balanced. The highest spice level was just right - I think much of anything less would potentially be a bit too bland. The lips tingled a little bit from the spice but nothing felt like it was burning or painful. Quite excellent flavor, really.

The staff was very friendly when I picked the food up and it was hot and ready at the scheduled time.

Ample parking in the shopping center and handicap spots nearby.

I'd be happy to visit again.

It was my first time trying Thai food and I was really happy with the quality of the dishes. The appetizers were delicious. We went with the satay ( skewered chicken splashed with coconut milk and turmeric with a side of delicious Thai peanut sauce and pickled relish. And the chicken curry puffs (pastry dough filled with chicken, potatoes, onion, carrots served with a sweet chili cucumber sauce) I had the curry duck and it was excellent, especially with the sauce mixed with rice and veggies. Very hearty serving too. Nice crispy outside, and a tender center, delicious! She had the "evil jungle princess" ( boldly spiced chicken sauteed with a vegetable medley. It was very fragrant and aromatic, really came together well. I will definitely come again!

I recently ordered takeout from Thai Wat and was blown away by the quality of the food and the excellent vegetarian options. I ordered the mixed veggie & tofu options which included drunken noodles, pad thai, and basil fried rice, along with some veggie rolls to start. I ordered all the items at level 3 spicy, and they did not disappoint. All the dishes were amazing, especially the Basil fried rice which was bursting with flavor. The Drunken noodles and Pad thai were also outstanding, with just the right amount of spice. The Veggie rolls were decent but not particularly memorable, although they were a nice appetizer. What really stood out to me about Thai Wat was their willingness to accommodate substitutions for vegetarians. As a vegetarian myself, I always appreciate restaurants that make it easy to customize menu items. Thai Wat was very accommodating and made it easy for me to get the dishes I wanted without any meat. Overall, I highly recommend Thai Wat for anyone looking for delicious Thai food, especially vegetarians who want a variety of options. The portions were generous, the prices were reasonable, and the quality of the food was outstanding. I can't wait to go back!

Just had dinner here for the first time this evening, and it blew me away. Every time my husband took a bite of some thing he had to say “Wow”. Everything was super delicious and the wait staff was very nice. I had Chu-Chee Duck and a beef soup! Definitely eating here again!

The food was quite flavorful with generous portion sizes. Great service and a nice ambiance. 10/10 would recommend. The thai curry ramen was amazing!

Good Thai cuisine with a good flavor and service.
Although not a lot of seating, the restaurant was clean and masks were worn by all the staff I could see. The glass of water came without straws but they were clean I saw a staff member wiping down a table immediately after a customer left.
I sampled three appetizers including Buda's Dumplings (fried and tasty with excellent dipping sauce), Corn Cakes(another vegetarian appetizer that tasted of the corn and flavored delicately with spices that didn't take away from the vegetable), and Tulip Dumplings (mild chicken dumpling that was easy to eat). Appetizers were served quickly and staff was friendly giving us enough time to look over the menu and answered questions happily about the menu choices.
Pad Thai was on the sweat side with chicken (you can select the meat or meatless choice if you like) and peanuts. It tasted good and portion was enough. The flavor was distinctly Thai with great accents that you dont find in any other cuisine.
Along with Mussaman Curry that came with Jasmine rice with a very nice heart shape. The curry was very well balanced and had a coconut under tone with perfectly mild heat. I had mine with shrimp and the carrots, onions and peppers added to the delicious dish. I could have consumed it like soup but I do enjoy a good plate of rice!
To wash it down I enjoyed Thai iced tea which is always almost a dessert.
The food was very good and I enjoyed the experience. I appreciated the cleanliness and attention to detail. The decor was well matched and the music wasn't overpowering so casual conversation was easy. Several people came in and everyone was helped quickly.
There are lunch specials along with a complete menu to choose from including desserts to witch I didn't partake in as I was full from the main course.
Family friendly and although not inexpensive the food makes up for a slightly higher cost with an authentic flair.
I enjoyed the meal and its worth the trip if you're a little farther away.
Recommended and although the parking lot is large it's shared in a mall with several large stores so parking close may be a little difficult.

Have been eating here (dine in/take out) for years. The food is always made fresh to order. Take out is always hot and delicious every time I order. Have never been disappointed with the quality, taste, or service in this restaurant. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves real Thai food. Just picked up fried rice takeout last night. Forgot to photograph until I was halfway into eating. Yes it’s that good!

Coconut soup was delicious. Great customer service and Quick ☺ everything was well cooked and flavorful.

My mother and I dine here fairly often, and it's by far our favorite Thai restaurant in Berks County. The service is always great, the pricing is fair, and the food is outstanding. We're both vegan, so we typically order the Tom Kha soup, the corn fritters, and the massaman curry (which is BOMB). I highly recommend!

This place is Amazing. The food is so delicious the staff is kind and curtious the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is so quiet and relaxing. A must visit.

We have dined at Thai Wat several times, both as a couple and also with larger family groups. The service is always very attentive and the food is exceptional. My wife is Thai and is an excellent cook, so when she says "Very good" it really means something !!

Excellent food. We got take-out. One of the curries and one of the specials. Also the coconut soup. The good was great and tasted authentic. It was our first time there and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

Came here for the first time and was impressed with the quality and taste of food. To be perfectly honest, I was sure how I'd feel about food from a place that was in a strip mall, but this place definitely exceeded my expectations. We shared 2 appetizers, Tulip dumplings and chicken satay. Both were delicious. For my meal I had Druken Noodles with shrimp
I love the spiciness of it. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the Thai Iced Tea, because it was very sweet, but that's just a personal preference. I would definitely like to come back and try other things.

Can't say enough about this place! Food is always top-notch.

Wonderful eggplant stinger with amazing spice. Was not overly oily, and was a larger portion than I was expecting for the price. The tofu was cooked very well and maintained it's tenderness without getting soggy. The waitress was great, the decor was cozy and nice.

Honestly, this isn’t the sort of strip mall you want to stop for food in. Even the Walmart is lacking and pathetic inside, so when I was in the mood for Thai food I was unimpressed by this place based on its location and easily missed storefront.

I am so glad I took that chance, because this is probably the best Thai food in town! Everything is always hot and fresh and customized to your tastes. Tender juicy chicken, perfectly spicy soup, crispy veggie rolls, and amazing fried rice. Their peanut sauce is not be missed and neither is their Thai iced tea! You can get it multiple ways and it’s heavenly and perfectly sweet every time. It might be too sweet for some, but it’s the best Thai ice tea I’ve ever had.

I’ve eaten here three times this week since coming here for the first time! Everything is delicious and if you want delivery they are on doordash too!!! More pricey this way but the same quality of food you get when dining in. Support this local business and their great food, we need more places like this!

The food was incredible!! Lots of options for vegans and vegetarians. Every bite was better than the last. Very fast service! Food came out quickly and tasted very fresh and the waitresses were fast and on point! Can't wait to come back to try more.
