YAAAAAS!! If you're looking for some home-cooked comfort on the road, this is where it's at!! Amber was our outstanding waitress. She was warm and friendly and beloved by her "regulars". The food here is the coziest of country down-home comfort foods as you can get! From the french toast, sandwiches, pulled pork fries, the soup, and homemade pies, every bite was better than the next. The soup was literally good to the last drop. The iced tea was feshly made. The steak sandwich surpasses that of our favorite high-end steak house! We didn't have room for the ice cream, so we will venture back again to try the ice cream window and home baked treats. A clean and eclectic vibe, this environment sets the mood to practically run to their gift shop. It is an added bonus that makes this whole experience as warm and fuzzy for your heart as it is for your belly. Come hungry, you will leave full!!

Wow, had some great service here. It’s rare these days to get a good server to be honest or maybe it’s just our luck. We visited for a late lunch early dinner yesterday on a Saturday and it was pretty empty. Our waitress was great, friendly, and very quick. I believe her name was Hope (blue/purple hair, which by the way I love!) Customer service is key these days and she showed that. I would return again just for that, but not only for that as the french onion soup was amazing. I also got the crab melt but wasn’t a huge fan only because I don’t like crab cakes but I did enjoy it. I can’t recall the last time I enjoyed a crab cake so bonus points on that.

Will definitely return!

Stopped for breakfast and so glad we did! Delicious food, large quantities at a reasonable price. Very clean restaraunt and super friendly staff.

Our service was impeccable and we received our orders quickly. Everything was hot and fresh. Nothing was banked!

I used to eat here as a child and finally convinced my husband who never ate here to go. He was amazed at the huge portions and how reasonable priced it was. Definitely going back.

The broccoli soup was amazing and so were the broiled sea scallops. The vegetables, mashed potatoes and rolls were all lukewarm. Our waitress Amanda was very attentive. We will go back. We were there yesterday 3/17/21 for St. Patrick's day, my husband wanted cornbeef and cabbage for the holiday without going to a crowded pub. He said it was so tender! I had the Chicken Parm and was very surprised and delighted that the chicken was not breaded! I was so enjoyable that way, that I think I will start making mine the same way! Our server was Doris, she was very attentive.

I went yesterday, because if we go to Lowes we always stop by the Windmill. One of our waitress Amanda was on her dinner break, so we said we would take which ever one was available, Marina waited on us and she was very inept. She was not attentive, she was slow and cleared nothing from the table, so when I asked for a box for dinner I mentioned that most people prefer to have their dinner not surrounded by dirty dishes. She feigned not understanding. Needless to say we will not ever have her wait on us again

Amber the hostess was amazing. Everyone is very friendly. The restaurant is very clean. The food was very good. The drink prices are a little high. But that's to be expected in this economy.

Local family restaurant that's always consistently good. Can't say there is a dish I didn't like even if its something I hadn't expected. Staff tends to have thier hands full and can forget about you occasionally, but they are generally always pleasant. We always make it a point to stop for breakfast or lunch as we head into Gettysburg.

At the windmill they make you feel like a member of the family. Service with a smile and the servers are always nice. Never leaves u hungry after eating there and a great gift shop. Make sure to ask for Amber if your there she is amazing and very friendly, really knows the menu inside and out will make sure your dining experience is a great one. The food is reasonably priced and made to order. The cooks really knows what they are doing. The managers who recently took it over are really doing a great job.

Great local lunch, shoefly pies, whoopie pies and local character stories. Kids ate ice cream Sundays, mom had soup and I had deluxe grilled cheese with tomatoes and bacon and french fries. Kids were dunking my fries in their ice cream Sundays. Crazy kids. Food was great, service was polite and food was served up hot and fast.

I have been to the Windmill many times and never have had a bad meal. This time I tried a lamb & beef mixed Gyro. It was really tasty and came with french fries that were golden brown perfection. When they have their chicken croquets as a special, be sure to try them out. And the peanut butter pie is heavenly. They have baked goods to take with you and a small gift shop out front. Make sure this is a meal stop on your next trip to Lancaster county.

This place is great! Took our family there while on an outing. The staff are super friendly, the food was excellent and they even have a gift shop. Yes, the kids got stuffed animals to snuggle on the ride home lol.
