It's such a wonderful scene. I took my dogs, and they enjoyed the lake as well. I suggest you take off or bug repellent apart from that great park

Watched the sunset here and it was a perfect place to watch the sunset over the mountains. It’s located right on the Rio Grande which was completely dry so we went for a walk though the empty river which was unique.

I have watched this park along the Rio Grande at Picacho grow through the years from nothing to a very well kept park with a paved walk along the river extending north under the Picacho bridge. I've never walked that far along the path to the south, but am told you can walk all the way to Mesilla along the east side of the river. There's good parking and a few picnic tables. It's a delightful place to visit when the river is running for a group or family picnic. And there are those who swear they've heard the mournful cry of La Llorona there as dusk gathers.

Aside from a dead bird in the water it was wonderful! My dog had a blast and there was nothing but families and couples there so it was very pleasant. Loved the views from the Rio Grande as well.

A beautiful place to appreciate the ebb and flow of the Rio Grand river and recognize that GoODs creation comes with a life lesson. Like the river some times life ebbs and flows and some times comes with furry and when that furry comes at you back up lest you fall in. just ebbs and flows and goes with the flow. The torrent of the river can take the blood of the earth and extinguish a life force in a moment in time. But when one breaths and like the river with its massive power during a flood the fragility of life becomes real but for the ebbs and flows of the river. Give the river a few days and the furry, become an ebb and flow and life lesson resonates with the wisdom of the ages as time pits furry it's time and GoOD flourishes amongst the ebb and flow...Go with the flow...amen

Love that we are opening up parks in town. This is a nice little park by the river but it can often be fairly busy. I really like the pedestrian paths that head north and south of the park. The southbound path goes all the way down to Mesilla, so it's a good hike/ride. The northbound path meets up with the path that goes nearly all the way around Las Cruces, and it looks like the ultimate goal is to have a path that circumnavigates the city.

Great park with some long walking/biking trails, just watch out for gnats and mosquitos in the summer.

We were blessed to participate in the mikveh: baptisms of two beautiful people from College Station, Texas. The water was muddy but it did not soil my white clothes and at a pleasant temperature.
Be tremendously blessed and Thank you, wonderful people who maintain it.
