They don’t have the new location at 816 Mass St online yet but it’s amazing! Such a beautiful indoor space and bar. Lots of seating too and a beautiful indoor environment.

I’m so happy to have a great coffee shop with room to sit now. Thanks Taylor and gang on a job well done.

Truly, a hidden gem. Absolutely lively in every aspect. A must visit! Street parking is the only inconvenience, but we'll worth stopping in.

The breakfast sandwiches will change your life! flaky crusty perfectly buttery croissants with a puck sized scrambled egg mini omelette that is so fluffy it floats. The quiche was equally delicious. A must try if you are in Lawrence.

Reminded me of being in Paris. So quaint and beautiful inside with the smell of fresh breads. I loved the quiet bustle of patrons coming and going. My quiche was delightful and the croissant was the best croissant I've had. I'd highly recommend this gem to any local or visitor of Lawrence!

I was in Lawrence for a day and stumbled upon this little bakery cafe. I got the vanilla latte which was lightly sweetened that complemented the coffee, had great flavor and was perfectly made.
I also got their raspberry lemon curd croissant and was blown away by the taste and different texture.

Their kale and caramelized onion quiche was also very delicious and perfectly flaky. I wanted to try more things on their menu but I was already stuffed. I want to try their chocolate croissant next.
The staff were also very welcoming and helpful.

Pastries and breakfast sandwich are so tasty! I loved their expresso too. Since the place is small, there aren't many seats but it's completely worth it.

Wonderful coffee and espresso, but the true reason to come here is the superb puff pastries and breads. There is a small parking lot and also parking on the street. Seating inside is at the counter, but they have a few tables outside. The variouse crescent rolls are unsurpassed anywhere. Seriously. And DON'T leave without buying a "utility" loaf to go.

Love the pastries here, the service is always excellent, they have really good coffee as well. Go early if you want the most choices as they only make so many of each menu item daily.

A small cafe space but amazing, well-crafted pastries and bread. We are very obsessed with high-quality baked goods and often drive across the city to find them. Made an outing from KC over to Lawrence to check out this new place we'd read about. Easily on par with craft bakeries in LA, where we used to live. Worth the drive!

Wonderful bakery and cafe. I ordered a latte and a berry danish. The danish was flakey and well balanced, not too sweet. There is a green space patio out back that was delightful to sit and drink my coffee in I will definitely come back.

Excellent bakery - I don't do baked goods too often but 1900's never disappoint. Even better is the neighborhood feel.

I’ve eaten a lot of breakfast sandwiches, but theirs just might be my favorite one! The Utility Loaf is a staple. Chocolate Almond Twice Baked Croissant - gimme more. But really, order anything and you can’t go wrong.

Revising my review. Last couple times the service has been great.

All the food is excellent and the owners are very nice people. Unfortunately, I'm revising my review due to poor customer service. Dismissive, uninterested and almost to the point of rude on several visits. This was from the Mass Street location. It's enough that I don't plan on coming back for a while. Don't need bad vibes when I'm a loyal paying customer. Service should be friendly.

I think about their mocha every once in a while. I’m not around the area anymore, but hands down their’s is still the best I’ve had. I can actually tell they used dark chocolate. You can never go wrong with all of their croissant varieties too! Their quaint space is also cozy and great for staying around with friends or alone.

Ever been lucky enough to eat at Tartine Bakery in San Francisco? This is as close as you can get in the Midwest. For those who understand the reference, you’re in for a surprise and a treat here. For those that don’t, it should become clear after a trip to 1900 Barker that I’m talking about a group of folks who have truly honed their craft. The pastries here are truly something special. My favorite is the Morning Bun. Their specialty coffee concoctions are at least as good, if not better than any others in town. These folks were born to do what they do here!

1900 has never disappointed. Coffee is superb.
The food is baking perfection. The location is not car-friendly when it comes to parking, and that's a feature, not a bug. Cost is high for my economic strata, so it's a special occasion experience.
Levee Cafe and 1900 are my go to joints for daytime eats.

The best coffee in Lawrence? Could be. Barker especially knows their espresso, and you can find the less common specialties like Gibraltar here. The alluring smell of fresh baked breads and pastries is also accurate: the menu is not long but delicious through and through.
Parking fills up quickly, though you can find spots on the street. Better walk or bike if you can. Then sit outside on the patio!

Love this little "peace" of the neighborhood... great baked goods and coffee brought to you by an engaged and joyful crew! Don't miss the Wednesday bread special..an oaty sour dough....it is awesome.
