This state board is an example for all other states on efficiency and kindness. I received email responses often within 5 minutes (on multiple occasions) and the woman I spoke with each time was kind and informative. The process was exactly as described in their listed requirements and they were efficient processing my license. I work a telehealth job and this board has given me a very favorable view of the state and the people who live there.

My work requires me to be licensed in all 50 states. Vermont was BY FAR the EASIEST state to get licensed by endorsement. The whole process is so easy, quick and streamlined. I had my license in hand literally 5 minutes after i completed my on-line application, which only took 20 minutes. I wish other states would follow suit. PA and CA are definitely the worst when it comes to people answering the phones and timeframe of actually licensure.

I just called the Board of Nursing and spoke with a lovely lady who answered on the 2nd ring! She promptly answered my question and wished me a good day. Lynn A. Slepski-Nash, PhD, RN, PHCNS-BC, FAAN

I was looking to renew my VT nursing RN license after leaving in NY for a while. I had a question and I called the VT board of Nursing. An outgoing VM stated that it was Monday and that she would be at meetings all day and that I should leave a message.
First of all it was Thursday and I felt that leaving a message would be useless, since she is at"meetings all day". What a poor excuse for an important State agency.

I am adding another review,,I finally got my license renewed. But the problem is that VT only had the clerk and the director working there. Only 2 people for a state agency
The one that I finally did speak with was nice to me and did her best to get my paperwork through. Mine was a more complex case

I am back and forth on the phone hours with Pennsylvania who stated the verification was sent out. Getting Vermont on the phone is challenging. The clerk is not rude. Just seem to overwhelm with work to me. Wondering if she is the only one working. In that case, given no other choice but to wait on the phone again. Nurses who may want to work or relocate to Vermont this is a turn off!
UPDATE:
After talking to the board all clear my License was approved.

These people expect an $800 "late reinstatement fee" because I had no intention of working in Vermont so I let my license expire 1 year ago. Well I guess I will never work in Vermont!

I was born and raised Vermonter. In being so I've seen a lot of changes in the state. One is the cost of everything. I earned my LNA in Vermont, that I personally paid for out of my own savings. Have moved to North Dakota 3 years ago. My LNA is FREE here. Have earned my CMA here for FREE. And earn the same amount of pay without paying the high cost of Vermont's lic. For me to renew my lic. I will be fined over 1,000 unreal. And Very sad that I true Vermonter can never afford to live in there own home state cause of the cost. P.S. I earn 18.86 an hour here in North Dakota.

All I need to do is change my address. There is no FAX posted on their website. I tried to do it online and was asked to upload a form that I don't have. When I try to call, I get a female's VM, I left a message, no return call. They are not available for Nurses. I thought that's what they were there for! I'm glad I don't work in VT.

Ive been processing my papers ever since before i took my nursing license and the lady that works there is the worst! She's so impolite and called me a liar because i called so many times. And now im trying to call again and all i receive is her automated voicemail. Is there anyone other than her who answers the phone? The office says its open but nobody answers or my call wont ho through. Someone have to fix this. Cause we have papers to be done.

I've been calling and writing emails for the past month regarding information that I needed which wasn't provided online. No answered emails no answered voicemails. This office is not here to help nurses that are coming from another state and need help with paper work that this office has requested to be filled out. After a month of contacting the office I get a rude personal that has no intentions to help but brush me off. I am very displeased with the BON of VT. Good Luck best thing would be to go directly to the office and see if someone will be willing to help.
