Kinokuniya is a victory for people who are in love with Japan and it's endless supply of entrainment media, ranging from anime, manga, films, games, and traditional culture.
It has an area for imported manga on the first floor, and figures from series you may have liked on the second floor. I would say more, buy I want this store to be an experience for people who wish to visit in the near-future. As a way to say, you will love this place.
This store answered my question when I came back from Japan to WA, "Will there be another store, or any store, that will have franchise I adore?"
And luckily it does.
My only issue with this store, is that some of items in the store is a bit pricey than what they would be in Japan. Most mangas in Japan are $4-6, while here they go for the same as translated manga here. $10~ for sale. Figures are about the same online, except for shipping cost, but can be more. Please be sure to check!
Regardless, I went to this store once and spent more than I expected for a store I heard online. So please check this store out when you're in Seattle and want to see any anime or manga merchandise.
Tl;dr Kinokuniya is a great manga/anime/ Japanese film store to see. I would easily reccomended it to my friends and family to check it out
10/10☆☆☆

This book store is amazing, I love coming here whenever I'm in Seattle. Prices are average to other bookstores. Upstairs has English manga, figures, plushies and all types of amazing anime goodies. The workers and helpful and friendly. Just know that you might leave broke after coming here 😂.

Kinokuniya bookstore is such a fun place I can easily spend an hour here. They have books (in Japanese and Chinese), postcards, magazines, stickers, figurines, stationary, music, games, etc. This is my go-to place for Seattle souvenirs.

Conveniently inside/next to the Uwajimaya grocery store. The interior was a bit small and crowded, which make it somewhat hard to walk through since there were so many people there that day. This Kinokuniya location hasn’t had sonny angels in stock for a while, or so I’ve heard, so if you are going there in pursuit for sonny angels they might not have them for a while. They did have smiskis though, and a wide range and selection of other goodies and products. Staff was very nice and friendly.

Lovely Japanese bookstore, one of the best on the west coast. Sells Japanese, English, and Chinese language media. Fun for a browse, especially for things you normally have to buy online or get in asia. Attached to a great asian grocery.

Great bookstore if you or family likes anime or any type of Japanese reading. My daughter and I had a great time looking at everything and easily spent over an hr in there.

Get the membership for $25 and you can save 10% on orders in store or online. Plus they have locations throughout the US.

This was my first time going to Kinokuniya after hearing so many great things about this place. Trust me the pictures don’t even do them justice! I’m a manga and anime fan and this place pretty much had everything! It’s also located inside a village center so there’s a grocery shop and a bunch of carry out restaurants to eat from!

Every Kinokuniya I've been to has always been a wonderful experience, and I like the fact that this one is conveniently located, with an exit facing the shopping center, where I can get my groceries. But whatever you want: Plush toys, and other toys imported from Japan filled with your favorite characters, Manga galore, and Japanese language books. What else does one need?

Such an amazing place! I could have spent all day there. They had all sorts of Japanese literature, manga, toys, and stationary.

The staff was friendly and helpful. I wish I would have brought a bigger suitcase so I could have brought home more goodies.

You will not be disappointed.

Kinokuniya is where you want to be if you are into Manga. It's simply amazing. There is a Japanese, a Chinese, and a English Manga section. The English section is upstairs so don't despair when you don't find it on the lower level. They also have a small amount of washi, novelty pens, stuffed animals, Manga figurines or all things Japanese. Really enjoyed shopping there and found Manga that I haven't seen on Amazon and I might not have seen because the algorithms push you only certain books.

Lots of manga in both Japanese and English. Next to this many weird gift kind of products (under which moomin and studio Ghibli products)

I've been to the San Francisco version of this bookstore and the Seattle one is definitely better. It has a very fancy collection of Studio Ghibli merchandise... I really had to hold back on dumping cash on them since we had limited luggage space! It also has an upstairs section with an amazing array of anime figures.

I could be here all day! Plan to be in kinokunia for 1+ hours. Manga, books, magazines, figurines, funko, cards, they have it all!

They were decently priced. Some things were a bit on the expensive side, especially with Washington tax, but it wasn’t much more than what you would pay online.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful! The selection of anything manga, anime, and video game related items was huge. The membership is a nice bonus if you visit them regularly.

I stopped at the import store because I had called earlier they had said they have a certain item in stock. So I 1st ran to the location and sure enough they have it. It was a pilot fountain pen. The gift was to be for my daughter who is in the hospital recovering from a burn. She is such a wonderful daughter that I wanted to get her something special. This beautiful purple pen would certainly fit the bill.
Looking around I further found some beautiful paper for her to write upon. Some of the paper had beautiful flowers with matching envelopes, I got those. Another stack had a whole invelop'd full of loose papers with different types of looseleaf paper. Yet another have a tablet that was similar to handmade paper, I got this one for her as well. Then I picked up a few more envelopes for her, and walked on to another section.
Soon I found I had walked all over the store. How interesting each section was, I found met so many things to keep my interests and it was hard not to keep wandering letting one thing lead me to another. I just covered the store had such a wide variety of imported goods that it is hard to classify them all. This is a large store, filled with shoppers Kala so come prepared to do battle to get whatever it is you need.
I did find the clerks and assistance, very helpful, attentive , and courteous. When I was wrong up my transaction was accounted for efficiently and professionally. While the store is well laid out, I think handicapped persons link find it difficult to meanders through here. There is a second floor, and I did not see an elevator. I don't know for sure if there is one or if there is not 1I just did not see it.
