Awesome park with beach like spots and great MTB trails. Park is very big and has 40 to 50 ft cliff faces at some points. Its the same distance for me to the coast but no gellyfish and clear water will make this my new beach destination. No more gulf coast for me

Beautiful place to take your dogs and get some great pictures with the bluebonnets! The water is really low so we did a lot of rock climbing as well, and the whole place was very well kept! Very clean out houses if you need to use the bathroom, and it was just overall a fantastic experience! Well worth the drive from Dallas!

Beautiful! It has beach-like areas, cliff faces for diving/jumping. Picnic tables, camping areas, wildlife abounds. Feels like you are a long way from any town, but just minutes from downtown Austin. You just have to include this on any bucket list you may have. Memories will last a lifetime!

We pitched a tent and camped here for two nights in March and it was GREAT! Our spot #12, had everything we needed for a great stay. Grill, picnic table, parking spot, excellent power situation, fire pit, water spout for dishes and a flat, dry spot for the tent. This spot was far away from the restrooms so that no one really bothered us during the night.....but the walk wasn't so far that it was a pain to walk that way when we needed to. Highly recommend. Hope the pics help!

This is a great spot for all year round! We love to come on random weekends or weekdays and just enjoy the peaceful scenery. It's never overcrowded. You can drive right up to the water in some parts. Bluebonnet season is the best time out here.

Have lived near Lake Travis for years and long sought some great cliff jumping. Finally found it (all I had to do was ask 🤣)

Beautiful park with lots of room for biking or hiking. Much of the water front is accessible but a turn on one side gets cliffs and rock formations up to 40' high. ❤❤

Last I was there, cash only, so make sure you have it.

Nice park located in west of Austin (40mins from Downtown). Has lot of camping sites within the park and is allowed for Day-use as well.
Speciality of this park is Colorado river joins with Pedernales river and forms a U-curve round the park.
Update March2023:
Day use fee is $5 valid for the entire day and can be booked online through Texas parks website as well. #HappyTrails

First time visiting this park and my family & I loved it! Can’t wait to come back next year. Definitely wear water shoes and if you don’t know how to swim it would be a good idea to wear a life jacket. The park is huge and there are picnic tables and grills.

Love it here! It’s beautiful, peaceful, and great for swimming, floating and grilling. We have 3 dogs and they love it there too. I’ve also gone cliff-jumping there as well. One thing to know, however, is that the signage at the park isn’t great, so the maps at they provide at the entrance aren’t all that useful. I highly recommend plugging a specific location you want to go to in the park (e.g., Kidd Cove) into googlemaps and using that to navigate. Also, make sure to bring cash to get in, and it’s good to have a tent there too, since there’s not much shade.

Been going to this park for years. Spacious sites for the rv. Spotless park, very friendly park personel.

If you are into deep water soloing this is the place to go. Admission is $10 per car so not extremely pricey. They are seriously strict on glass containers, so watch out. The river that runs around the park is most for the time pretty relaxing with the exception of jet skies and boats. If you want to go deep water soloing check out Thurman Cove.

We love to come out here with our family. We come from round rock so it takes us about an hour to get here with our usual stops and the area is always really clean ( no trash on the ground). When we set up people are always respectful to respect your stuff and always nice. We recommend you bring watershoes to protect your feet because there is sharp rocks and possibly zebra mussels in the water.

Incredible views for a hike and picnic along Lake Travis. This park is amazing! It is $5 per person. Be prepared to wait awhile to get checked in at the front entrance. It was worth the wait!

Small but beautiful place! Very quiet because there was not a lot of people, at least when I went. There are a couple of walking and biking trails that I went on that were pretty well kept. Be mindful; the entry is cash only.

So much fun! Went deep water soloing (gearless cliff climbing - if you fall you just fall in the water) super fun (check bloodyflapper for water depth levels so you know where it is safe to jump). Definitely bring a floaty. There are beaches if you want to just walk into the water as opposed to cliff jump and climb. It costs 10 dollars to get into the park...they only accept cash or check. There is an ATM about a mile from the entrance, at a gas station. Other than that, it is beautiful, super fun! You can camp, bike, horse back ride the trails. Definitely suggest going.

Great Travis County park for biking, hiking, swimming, and boating on Lake Travis. Cliff jumping is not advised by park staff but was greatly enjoyed by the teenagers at the campsite next to ours. We camped in Improved Camping site 13. Perfect location with a trail to the lake. Trail access runs through this site so if you’re looking for solitude #13 is not for you. Bathrooms could do with a good hosing down - kudos to park staff who responded promptly to an unfortunate issue in the ladies room when reported. Regularly patrolled. Our camper was safe and secure when we weren’t there. Close enough to Austin for grocery and entertainment amenities.

Great car ride along the coast. I really liked that many places are landscaped for a picnic. There are toilets. There is no water. Only with you. Not difficult to maintain social distance

Great place very big so there's lots of room for camping. There are boat ramps and some people on jet ski. It is kid friendly and there are place for kids to swim but no would suggest life vest cause the water get deep in some spots and water shoes for the big rocks under water. We didn't get to hike but there are lots of trails. Camping is good lots of trees and spots away from other people. Fish not that good during the day when everyone is out and about but people still catching fish. So late nite fishing would be good. You can park right down by the water in a few places. The only bad thing is the men's restrooms don't have doors on the stalls.

Visited this place during the pandemic recently, so beautiful! We went on a Friday and it was a perfect for social distancing there was plenty of space to be all by yourselves at the lake. Just remember to get $10 in cash before you go or you’ll have to go down the street and use an expensive ATM. It’s $10 per car if I’m not mistaken. If you are in the Austin area I highly recommend This beautiful place. There are some really pretty cliff diving access points as well. Just remember to bring soap And toilet paper if you plan on using the bathrooms.

Very nice park, excellent for hiking or biking. Looks good for kayaking as well, but I haven't done that yet. Afterwards try out It's All Good BBQ just down the street!
