Best place around Boston to let your dog roam! Many ponds and streams to keep them (and you) cool. Several trails wind through wooded areas with plenty of shade, and there's a more open meadow area where dogs can run til they drop. For non dog owners, there are also designated trails where dogs must be leashed. I found free parking right off the trail!

Great state park, especially for dog owners. There’s a multitude of trails, some through the woods and some through wide open fields. They are well maintained and well marked for the most part. Almost everyone you see will have a dog, and if you make it to Eagle Pond there’s an unofficial dog park with lots of pups running around off leash. It does seem to get pretty crowded along the main trails, but if you veer off you’ll find yourself alone in nature. Well, besides the occasional house or farm!

Not far away from the city, found this beautiful place to unwind.
Since I went there in December end, the trails were not very clear. I walked the Pipeline trail but met with a big bog after about a mile. I figured there was a way around after asking around, after which I could complete the trail. I’m sure there’s a lot more to explore here in the right season, birds being one of them. I spotted this one during this visit!

An old favorite. We used to come here more when we lived closer, but I always love it when I come and discover a trail I hadn't been to before. It can be noisy and a little chaotic on days when there are lots of dogs running off leash, but usually they stay together near the pond.

I regularly ruck the southern half of the park (south of Edmands Rd). Plenty of trails so you can tailor your distance and difficulty. The outer loop is about 3.7 miles. Paths are well used and typically clear of foliage. In the southeast are open field areas were folks can play with thier dogs or partake in other activities. The Pipeline offers a pretty good hill climb. Activities I've done or seen others do include hiking, trail running, mountain biking, horseback riding, snow shoeing and cross country skiing.

We had a great time at the park! The trails were great and everyone we met was nice. We even saw someone riding a horse! We will definitely be back.

This is an excellent park to walk with your dog and enjoy nature! Plenty of land to walk and trails easy to follow! There is a pound where most of the people bring their dogs to play!

We hiked pipeline trail and looped around to pioneer. It was perfect for my 4 year old and 9 year old who don't get out hiking too much. Its beautiful out now because of all the colors of autumn

Great walking trails with lots of varied scenery. Be aware that many people walk their dogs off leash. Also can run into people on horseback every once and a while. But worth the hiking/walking. Miles of trails!

Tons of trails to explore. They are well maintained and most people had their dogs on leash. (I think the count was 4 on leash, 3 off)

The one thing that would improve the park is having a trash can near the parking lot so we could throw out the poop bags instead of taking them back on our 40 min drive.

Callahan has over 900 acres. You can park in the front where theres picnic tables and many trails, as well as a large hill. Or u can park on the backside where most park across from the old golf coarse. You can walk from one side to the other and if you continue across the streets, you can follow through a few towns while still in the woods on marked trails. I grew up in this area and its one of my favorites

Nature at it's finest. There a lot to experience at Callahan, get off your bum and hike a day! Just watch out for the horse manure!

This park is great for everything. There are excellent trails for biking, running, walking the dog, and simply exploring. There are usually other people around and it is very popular for dog owners. Fantastic for afternoon walks or outdoor activities. Always make sure you have a leash for your dog because it can get a bit crazy when they all are running around.
