Town of Normal Public Works Department

Some town of normal guys were cleaning up a tree that I presume had fallen. Anyways, they were next door and I went over to talk to them about getting our kite out of a tree that our son had lost a few weeks ago. Normally I wouldn't bother with kites but this was his favorite one so I went ahead and asked if they could but understood if they couldn't because of rules or regulations they probably have. Well about 20 minutes later or so I get a knock on my door with the retrieved kite! I was so grateful and my son is going to be so excited when he sees it! I believe the Foreman's name was Tyler. I just want to say thank you guys again for making this town great to live in!

Update: They are no longer using the street sweeper down Beech St. and are just letting the curbs and storm drains clog up with mud and debris! Original: Thank you for dispatching the town’s street sweeper out to WELDON RESERVES in north Normal to try and clean roads up for local residents after the mess Jason Barickman and Fairlawn Capital had their contractors make to start building a house a week in their new low quality rental community! Before streets are built they close the main entrance and have trucks driving through mud and local neighborhoods to work. Glad the town is trying to clean up the mess they approved. Thank you!

Kristi Kelley Jones who works in Public Works Department as a receptionist is an embarrassment to our community’s Public Works and an overall pitiful person. She firstly comes off as not really wanting to help and finalizes it all as uneducated and flat out rude. I called asking about waste management details she begrudgingly informed me and talk down to me and hung up as soon as I asked for her name since she was so disgustingly off-putting. When I called multiple city departments to find out who I was speaking to; a representative from an entirely different department said she knew who I was referring to just by the description. I called Kristi Kelley Jones back and she confirmed it was her who hung up on me and than she nervously gave me her name and told me that I cussed her out, after I told her I’m contacting her supervisor. I called multiple to make sure the complaint is known. I don’t know if she didn’t get her Starbucks order right or what, but as she exhibited - she’s wildly immature for the position. It was the most ridiculous exchange with a city employee I’ve ever had in the 20 plus years living here. Which, when in our conversation my time of residency came up and she directly said she didn’t care and cut me off to continue being an insufferable peon.
