Jim's Steak House

The ambiance of this place is unique. Upon entrance with a piano being played by the nicely stocked bar,we were escorted towards the back where there was plenty seating for dining. Multiple levels and fireplaces provide a fantastic atmosphere. When receiving our food, we weren't disappointed! The smell was incredible with taste to match. Perfectly cooked steaks! It feels as if you're a part a private club.

Had hearts set on another restaurant for our anniversary dinner. Hotel clerk said he’d recommend a better restaurant and I’m sure glad he did. Shannon and Brooke (a year later) were great servers and our meals, filet and scallops were so delicious. My husband had the steak and lobster (small portion) and it was the best lobster dinner he ever had! He’s almost 70! The Brittany salad was a hit too.
Piano bar and other staff members were wonderful also.

Best steaks in central Illinois, perhaps the world. Seriously give this place a try if you love steak. I've had a few other items on the menu and they're excellent as well. Always come here on my birthday.

Jim's is so great for a fancy night out. The fish dishes are always well cooked and seasoned. We always get the calamari!

Probably the best steak I have eaten anywhere on the east coast!! Don’t pass this place up you are missing out

Yes, it's old fashioned but it is still an incredible dining experience. The staff are skilled and deliver the goods: mouthwatering steaks, the famous Brittany dressing, and the best cheesecake for miles around.

This was our second time here. It's graduation weekend so they were very busy tonight but the staff handled it gracefully. Everything was delicious. The calamari comes with a Sweet Thai Chili sauce which is different than most places in town. The garlic bread comes with thick cut slices of bread and it's baked perfectly. I had the Salmon with shrimp and a lobster cream sauce with rice pilaf. It was good but a little pricey at $32 in my opinion. It came with 3 medium sized shrimp. Over all great experience and we need to work Jim's into our regular rotation of restaurants. One thing I will note is that their flatware seems a bit low quality for a fine dining restaurant.

You could not ask for better service. Our waitress was a true professional and seemed to really enjoy her job. We were a table of 8 and everyone was very happy with their meal. My steak was perfect and reminded me that I need more practice on the grill at home.

A friend recommended this place while we were in Bloomington. One of the Sunday night specials is pan fried chicken. I love me some good chicken, and this was some of the best I've had in ages. Got it with a baked potato (perfectly cooked, but only ate a couple bites). So, I believe most of their veggies are fresh, but the green beans they have with the fried chicken special are canned. These were GREAT green beans, like the homemade canned ones my grandmother used to make. Full of flavor and bacon, don't be deceived by the looks! My wife had the salmon on cedar plank and it was great. We'll definitely go again, especially on Sunday night. We sat at the bar, and Mary Jo took great care of us!

Best stake house in Bloomington/Normal, without a doubt! I have dinned here multiple times, it never disappoints. The cuts are excellent and grilled to a precise point.
The ambience is cozy, relaxing and proper for a high end steakhouse.
The service is fine, attentive and friendly. Alexis did a great job and made sure to check on how things were going through out the experience.
They have also a nice bar and occasionally live piano music.
This is the place to celebrate a special occasions, anniversaries, romantic dinners, or just to chill out and have a nice evening .
Highly recommend it if you are looking for the best steakhouse in the area!

Love making a trip to Jim's Steak House. 5 Star all the way. Staff is over the top and is very familiar with the Menu. The Filet Mignon is absolutely perfect as well as the twice baked potato. And that Brittany dressing.. yum yum yum.
Home made Tiramisu was perfect !!

I had an amazing time at Jim's Steak House. The steaks were incredibly tender and flavorful, cooked to perfection. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive. A definite go-to spot for anyone craving a delicious, satisfying meal.

This restaurant is high class. The servers know the menu and are very helpful with dietary requirements. Beautiful design inside the building making a cozy quiet meal for just your table. The food is excellent!

Food portions are big, their special salad dressing was delicious.
Atmosphere was "old classy" kinda feel. Loved it.

Jim's is definitely a great experience

The French Onion Soup was delicious! 😋 The Filet Mignon was delicious! The Sautee Mushrooms were delicious! Fabulous restaurant... I definitely recommend this place! Live music and great atmosphere!

Always a pleasure eating at jims great customer service, great atmosphere, and tasty food. Highly recommend they have the best burgers and homemade fries in town hands down!! The prime rib is also fabulous and well prepared. The baked potatoes ate absolutely ridiculously humungous. If you have not tried Jims go there. You pay about the same as a chain steakhouse and get much better food. Try out their lunch menu lots of tasty foods at a great value.

Jim's was great. As shown in the photo of what used to be a steak... good Key Lime pie too, which is always a bonus. The bar knows how to make a drink, the waitstaff is engaging, and the piano player does a mean Bily Joel cover. What more could you ask for in a old school steakhouse?

Restaurant was a mess
No tablecloths on the tables
Tables did not appear to be clean and there was wax all over them. The back on my chair was broken and another person in the party had a chair that felt like it was going to collapse
There was a chair sitting out in the middle of the aisle
A table covered in condiments
Leftover Christmas decor all over the counter and piano
Food was just ok and service was terrible… had to ask for things over and over to receive them
Hostess took off through the restaurant so quickly we lost her

I do not know what happened here but Jim’s better step it up if they want to remain open and call themselves high end

The restaurant is a well-known place in town; good food quality and services. Our overall experience is good; though I have to say that the steak was a bit over cooked… we ordered medium rare and rare, but the chief had to replace the steaks for us.
