Dr. Ryan Jackson was kind and attentive to my son, who, after evaluation, was either suffering from a 24 hour bug or food poisoning. He explained the process of evaluation and treatment in an emergency room to me- which is important because it was information I didn’t have prior.

Dr. Jackson and the nurse who attended to my son, helped my son feel comfortable in a state of indignity while he dealt with vomiting and diarrhea.

You can feel confident that Dr. Jackson will not only access your medical problem/distress, but explain the process of attending to your symptoms in tandem with your diagnosis.

Top notch care!

Thank you, Dr. Jackson!

This is a wonderful hospital with kind and caring staff. The RN’s go above and beyond for their patients and the surgical team is excellent, especially Dr. Myers. RN’s in surgery Jim and Justin are exceptional.

Adult daughter was seen here at York Hospital 6/16 through 6/17 EVERYONE was kind, caring, calming and informative throughout out stay. The experience was top notch from the moment that we arrived. Thanks to ER crew Ryan Dodge PA, Dr Morgan OBGYN, Dr Connelly, Owen, Molly & MB for the dedication and thoughtfulness as well as the perseverance to a diagnostic outcome that took time to figure out. To the surgery team Dr Schnur, Dr Chi, James, Angela & Andrew thank you for the outstanding care. We definitely had our mixture of emotions …pain, stress, anxiety, fear and disappointment, yet you all helped us through it! We are so grateful to each and everyone of you! You all worked so diligently with care and patience and our constant ringing of the help call button.
Would definitely come back to your hospital if need be. *****Ryan Dodge PA thanks for having us wait it out when our day had been so long! *****. To all reading reviews, things in healthcare sometimes take time and there’s not always immediate answers. Remember to be patient with the providers as they do have our best interest and this is why they went to higher education, to help those in need. They may also need to talk amongst colleagues to figure things out.

Today I had out patient surgery. I was greeted warmly when I arrived at the hospital. I walked into the lobby and the decor made me fell at home. I was given my very own room in the holding area. Hospitals usually have some sort of curtain but at this hospital they had a sliding door for better privacy. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was given a warm blanket that was made me feel toasty warm. Just before surgery a nurse gave me a kiss on the cheek to wish me luck (not sure of this, maybe I dreamt it). Everyone praised Dr. Eilts which reaffirm that I would be in good hands.

I took my mother to the emergency room yesterday afternoon. What an amazing experience. The hospital ER staff are well- trained, caring, kind and extremely prepared and helpful; starting with the cheerful greeter who checked us in - in record time I may add.
After extensive testing and services in the ER, my mother was admitted into the York Hospital for further oversight. The hospital staff were as incredible as their ER colleagues.
When I visited my mother this morning, I was thrilled. She already looked, sounded and acted healthier and happier. No wonder York Hospital's motto is loving kindness. It shows in everything the staff do.
Thanks for giving me my mother back.

I was admitted through the ER while visiting family up in ME. It was my first time staying overnight at a hospital, but I have nothing but good things to say about the hospital and its staff. I felt very listened to and accommodated, and the nurses and doctors did everything they could to make me as comfortable as I could be despite the circumstances.

I was admitted to the ER via ambulance yesterday afternoon, Sunday, February 5th. All 5 of these stars are for David, who I know has been at YH for at least 10 years. It was very busy, but David was by far the most efficient, professional, kind nurses I have ever had at YH. Or any hospital, for that matter. This man definitely deserves a raise! Thank you, David!!

I was scheduled for a colonoscopy with Dr. Epstein. My nurses were Angela and Jim. Everyone was fantastic!
When Angela put in the pick for the IV she was incredibly skillful. Little to no pain.
Bonus! When I removed the bandage later, no bleeding and very little evidence that she put it in. They were all incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.

My experience was in the Surgery Center for an upper endoscopy. The staff I met were so friendly and welcoming. I don't like hospitals and procedures, hate needles, but they made the experience as pleasant as possible, which I appreciate. The lobby and rooms were nice and comfortable too, not your typical hospital vibe. Very thorough and informative on the phone too with pre-procedure and Covid info. Highly recommend if you need to go.

Recently had a trip to the ER for a traumatic bone break. Received emergency surgery and spent 3 days in the hospital. Everyone I interacted with was thoughtful, attentive and caring - from nurses to doctors to the folks who deliver the food. Amazing experience - I’m very grateful to have been in such excellent care.

I had a colonoscopy two weeks ago at the surgical center. This team along with Dr Hyett were awesome. Kind, professional, swift and skilled. I had some fears given the surge in Covid cases but when I arrived I was put at ease. To the person who wasn’t happy about waiting outside, I would just say they are taking every precaution to keep you, them and other patients safe during this pandemic.

We are new to Maine, having just bought a house 2 weeks ago. My brother and his wife were helping us with the move when he became ill. We searched for the nearest hospital and found York. It was early morning and the place was quiet. As we waited to be seen, everyone that passed by was courteous and polite. While we tried to nap in waiting room, an “angel” appeared with a heated blanket and covered my husband and I. Then came the tray of coffee and muffins. What an amazing, comforting place. My brother received excellent care. We left truly believing in Maine’s motto “ the way life should be”. Thank you York hospital staff!

Had an amazing experience here with the most kind and thorough nurses. They made me feel comfortable my whole stay after my c-section and even treated us to the most delicious celebratory dinner. I’d recommend this hospital to anyone having a baby, they’re incredible.

This is a wonderful hospital. The entire staff has been super friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and professional. Not a klunker in the bunch! And, the food in the cafeteria is actually delicious! I never expected it to be so good. My daughter had surgery done by Dr. Marble, who is a fabulous plastic surgeon! Dr. Marble did an amazing job! And, she has a wonderful bedside manner to boot!
