This is a great hidden gem with locations in both Cambridge and Lexington. The cakes and pastries are delectable and are just as good as places like Mike's Pastry or Modern pastry in the North End if not better! Pricewise this place is pretty inflation-proof too. My now husband and I picked up a cake and pastries for our at-home reception after our wedding and all of our friends and family raved about how good dessert was. Furthermore service was good and the workers were super friendly and helpful. All in all, if your looking for North End quality pastry or even pizza and other goodies without the craziness I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed! 🙂

Great baked goods, amazing prices, and great service too! The lobster tail was phenomenal, I loved the eclair and the jam filled cookies were too delicious to just eat one!

Bought two birthday cakes, the black forest and the strawberry chocolate cake. Both were amazing! The bread wasn’t dry, cream seemed fresh, fruits and the jam between layers went very well overall with the cake. Also loved the fact that it wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet.
Will definitely be my go to place for birthday cakes.

Skip the touristy north end pastry shop and come here instead for better cannolis. Enjoy them sitting in front of the newly build and beautiful Cambridge Public Library for perfect Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

I usually go to bovas in the North end for cannolis and pastries but I think it's time to make room for Royals. They have quality cannolis at a good price. The cookies I had were also very tasty. I am so happy to have found this gem.

Quality cake! The whole family were so happy and enjoyed it so much! It’s not oversweetened but definitely satisfy that sweet tooth! I will come back for more.

Hands down, best cannoli in Boston area/Cambridge! Made fresh and with the best cannoli filling I've ever had. They also make a variety of cookies/pastries, really good pizzas, hefty ham & cheese croissants, tasty spinach & cheese croissants and so much more!

Secretly holds some of the best cannoli in town. Dare I say, it comes second to Modern's? Yup! Modern's > Royal's > Bova's > Mike's.

Great pastries for cheap! They have a wide variety of Italian cookies and they fill cannolis to order.

We found this hidden gem yesterday as we were traveling back to Florida. The service and pastries were excellent. This will be our go to pastry shop now when visiting Mass. The prices are excellent. See you at the end of the month. Thank you so much!! The cannolis and macaroons are the best!!

i got 2 plain cannoli and they are the BEST cannoli i've had in boston/cambridge. stores in the north end charge you $5 for a cannoli and here it was only $2.75?!?! super reasonable prices for the pastries and coffee. and family owned!!

Great pastries--this shop has been around forever!

I had the pleasure of going to this amazing bakery for the first time today! I brought home some brownies and my family loved them! Also had a slice of roasted pepper pizza everything was 10/10 I’ll definitely be coming back for more

It's been almost 30 years between by previous visit to Royal and my last visit last week. Very little has changed. The service is great. The workers are friendly and the quality and prices of the baked goods are excellent. I'm sorry that it took so long to go back.

They have the pizza, homemade like my aunt makes like our northern Italian family did. The sweet stuff is great, but they do the pizza RIGHT!
